Red Kinikacha Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Worst matchup ever or Worst matchup ever? Getting in is absolutely horrendus. Only things that ever seem useful are 5a (when not getting pressured to hell and back) and maybe j.2b. Attempts to use 214 a/b for countering/getting-in are futile and laughable to yukiko players. Personally, I can find some luck if I'm able to dash through Yukiko's fans, but the enemy is usually at neutral before the dash animation finishes....thus she has time to use her 5A. In my experience, the main offenders of keeping Chie off of her is 5A (to some serious pressure) or DP (which will put you back across the screen and have you wondering how to get back in). Never let a whiffed C or D attack go unpunished. Once she's persona broken, the matchup seems a little less cruel and something more akin to "fair" but getting there is very difficult. A dropped combo or whiffed combo starter can easily lead to the match staying in her favor. Abuse Chie's DP as Yukiko will more than likely stay on the offensive in fear of Chie's mixup prowess. IMO, still a cruddy matchup for Chie.
Orrax Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 This matchup isn't even that bad. Yukiko's options are pretty bad once you get in, bad enough that getting in once can mean that you won the entire round. 5C > dash is useful for getting in, especially if you got a counter hit, and making a correct air dash read puts Yukiko in a bad position. Once in, things get a lot easier, but watch for escape attempts like rolls, IB > throw, and DP. If you correctly bait a DP, make sure the counter-hit combo hurts.Basically, this match up is patience until you get in and then making a few correct reads and making them count.
