Shinvergil Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Greetings. Command grabs can be almost instantly YRCed as an option. While Ram needs a little delay others don't. http://youtu.be/pxdY9d44gZ8 Are there any more options in XRD? other than the universal grab one?
Uncivilized Elk Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 How easy is Pot's? Personally I'm still not too great at using his command grab in +R, so now if I have a relatively easy option to make misses safe that's awesome.
Shinvergil Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 It is very easy. Everyone can do it, do not worry about it. I personally think that it is better to safely YRC command grabs most of the time, especially against good players.
Soviet Bear Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I tried doing this last night in training mode for Potemkin's buster, but I can't seem to get the timing down :/
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Knew about this from the demo, it's pretty easy with Sol but you still have to make sure you avoid doing the inputs too quickly, or you will YRC before the grab becomes active.
Uncivilized Elk Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 So no way can you YRC Pot's grab on reaction to the opponent backdashing or jumping - it will turn into a PRC. The window for the YRC is just way too small, unless you threw out a dumb grab at 1/2 screen or something and want to YRC to not get punished, it definitely does not work as a tool for countering jumps and whatnots.

The idea is because the window to YRC properly is so tight, you just do it as muscle memory. If you get the grab, nothing happens. If you don't, you get the YRC. It's an option select, not an intentional decision-making process. Hell, by the time you'd expect to hit the YRC, the move hasn't even animated yet. By the time you see the first frame of Buster, it's already too late to try.
