Adjusting to the new Dustloop.

Circuitous

Just wanna give everyone a quick rundown on what's up with Dustloop after the move to IP.Board.

NEW STUFF

  • Avatar dimensions upgraded: 160x160px, 200kb. This is a big boost from the old board, don't abuse it.
  • Chat. We've added a basic chat room to the top menu. Nothing fancy, moving on.
  • Profile cards. These are visible when you hover over someone's name on a post. See crude diagram below.

    iVJNR6Y.png
    1. Hover over a user's name to see their card.
    2. This text can be changed by clicking your account name at the top-right and filling out the "What's on your mind?" box.

STUFF THAT DOESN'T QUITE WORK YET

    • Any subscriptions you had before the move DID NOT carry over! We're sorry about that. :(
    • Groups are currently gone. We're working on bringing that functionality back.
    • Selectable themes will be coming once everything else gets settled.

WHAT DO I DO IF SOMETHING LOOKS WEIRD?

[*]Report it in the Site Feedback and Suggestions board.

[*]If you'd rather use Twitter, contact myself (@Circuitous), @shtkn, or @Kurushii.

We appreciate your patience as we finalize the move. We would've preferred to have it all handled by now, but with BBCP 1.1 in the wild, we felt it better to have any Dustloop than wait for a perfect one.

Something bad for everyone: every subscription was erased D:

Suggestion: could you put an option to disable video previewing?, it takes a lot of resources and slows down the web browser a lot.

Why did you decide to change?

we moved because from all reports, the next version of vbulletin is bad, and the current version isn't getting updated.

we figured we might as well move now rather than later

as for why this software (IPBoard) vs another? i basically saw that it had the main features i wanted and asked if the staff had any objections

Your old board used to have a trophy system. I was really proud of the trophy I was awarded for second place at NEC. Also I felt like it said something about me as a Guilty Gear player, in other words if I commented about something in the game or corrected someone on how something worked i felt like it gave credibility to my experience with the game. Is there a possibily of something like that coming back for this new board? If not its cool I understand.

there's a lot for us to take care of, and trophies are not at the top hte list unfortunately.

we plan to bring back trophies eventually. previously earned trophies will be carried over to the new system, even if i have to enter them in manually.
