I'll be at the Smash 4 weekly... did Caio contact you, Pedro? He hola'd at me when he saw me go to last week's weekly with the Montreal Tamashi shirt on and has been meaning to ask if you guys are interested in getting hosting at his place in the future and I figured he was procrastinating all this time :P -

Fuck, I want one XL T-Shirt D: I start my classes on Friday so this would be my last appearance lol. Edit: Also thanks, Kaeru, maybe it's just the new Platinum making me lose my frail confidence, hehe. -

Pretty much announcing my retirement from the scene for an indefinite amount of time. I'm going back to intense evening classes for 2 years, 4 nights a week + homework, in addition to working 40 hours a week, so I wouldn't have time to practice, let alone come to the meets. Besides, I never did get past the execution barrier, I just couldn't get Platinum to do what I wanted. Like it was said a couple days back, it's not much fun when you feel bad about your performance even when you win. Still grateful for all the help and that you guys were playing me seriously all this time. MTL Community da bess, hope we'll meet again someday~ *ahem* And if you INSIST on getting me a goodbye gift: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10255700 -

Will be there with a friend, around 19h40. EDIT: ... Or not. friend's circumstances means I'll be going to play at his place instead. :x -
If anything, I time myself with the sound of the hit rather than the animation. At this point it's just finding what works for you and going with it : D Oh, and obvious, but make sure you practice on a dummy that's actually crouching, since you can't really expect your opponent to be standing when the overhead hits and it'll give you the extra frames you need to follow-up. It's also good to react to when you actually land a counter with it, because then you get about 10 minutes to land and follow up with anything you want.

Answering what I think I know: Only problem I've had with 3C > A Persia is when it's too far, I don't know of a reason it would fail from close. Although it does seem harder to buffer the Persia if the only move you did before was 3C. Idea is to not mash out the first A, you really gotta go 236A (very short pause) > AAA. A Bubble is best for catching rolls, as far as I know. B Bubble is alright on neutral since it goes straight, seems to work fine on oki as well. C Bubble catches jumping out AND is great to set-up the command throw gimmick where on Oki, you put out C Bubble, Dramatic Sammy as they neutral tech, the throw connects, they get grabbed by the C Bubble coming back down and you can follow-up before they get out. Not really any trick to 6B follow-up, it's all spacing and timing. If you hit with the last few active frames in the corner, you can like 5C and it'll hit. Otherwise the trick is to condition yourself to know when the long ass animation ends and buffer a dash 5A at that time.

Is someone bringing a setup tonight, then? Not sure I want to know what a Thursday with 2 setups is like. :c -

On a side note, how unlikely would it be for Foonzo to purchase USB splitters so we can connect more than 2 sticks to each PS3s? Oftentimes I don't feel like I joining those setups with only 2-3 players because I don't want to leech their stick off of them or I'd rather use my own than Steb's lubed up stick or Dhaos' alien button thingy : P Worst case I'm sure we could pool up the money for them, can't be that expensive? -

Pedro, if we'd go for that, wouldn't the same 2 people play each other all the time? At least that way everyone would play the same amount of matches, would be hard to enforce, though. We could also switch to a 3-round format. Now that bursts recharge over time, there's no downside to having a best of 5. You'd wait longer, but you'd play at least one extra match. Or maybe it could be "if you beat everyone in the rotation, you have to drop out for one match". Sounds like the easiest to follow. Main point is you just have to voice it to the table and see if they agree. Worst case you go to another table and try to gauge where there will be the least wait before you can play. I also agree that it'd be great to have 1-2 extra setups : D -

@Heartless: That would have been so much easier to accept if it wasn't coming from one of those guys that keeps winning for hours and causes me to play once every 15 minutes : P What would you suggest though? Brawl-wise, we have a system were we rotate out when you win a certain amount of matches in a row that seems agreeable with everyone. -
If you mash it out, chances are you'll be too high to land and do the 5C. I usually delay the last hit a bit. You have to really be in the corner as well, if you have to dash forward even a little the 5C won't connect. I feel the timing if the 22C links is more or less the same as CSE, which means 22c 5C is always annoyingly hard to place. What the combo thread seems to hint at, however, is that the 22C routes aren't even worth the trouble anymore damage-wise. I feel it depends when you hit with Mami? I think it's only a matter of when you recover, if the enemy was in the air, etc. When it hits right, you can do the 22C from where you landed and it'll connect. Most of the time I see the 2a pop-up and combo is when the opponent is down and you catch them rolling or not teching with it. It has an "S" combo rating, so there's not much you can do imo. I usually see 2A>5A>6A> stuff from it. Worth it when it kills : D Pretty much every item aside the cat hammer can be used as combo tools now and extend combos that would just do less damage if you didn't user the item. Using items for neutral AND combo tools is the whole point of the character if you ask me! Also, 5C knockback is one of the reasons Moy quit the character so... yeah, it's intense :3

My friend's not showing up tonight after all, but I want to drop by, still. Only got a "maybe" from Tofu so far, any other confirmations? Still not sure of the safety of just randomly dropping by on Wednesdays :x -

There should be some attendance tomorrow, right? Planning on bringing a friend. -
Glad I'm not the only one feeling like most of the rest of the cast seems to be doing fine but Plat is just lagging behind being... normal. Still fun to play but either there's a lot of things we need to get used to or she's just not broken enough for this game right now : P

I was actually worried about the tourney itself since it takes up the consoles while I get booted out early, but Single Elim is fine if it really only takes about 45mins/1 hour. : D Tuesdays were my favorites for that reason; less people, more playtime!
