Looked to me like he did the spit so it hit at pot's feet, causing him to stagger for the IK.

This topic was mentioned before, and I believe now that it's just a 1 frame throw break when the opponent throws slayer before the bite actually hits. It'd be nice to know for sure though, since it's happened at least twice that I've seen.

I can confirm that this indeed happened to my friend and I during a casual match. Went for a bite and got throw broken. Was in a bit of a shock and forgot about it until I read about it again just now.

Yeah, there's very few occasions where I've had people just up and counter a dust. They tend to opt to block and punish, so I've managed to catch some people off guard with it. Though I'm not sure if it's because it's just a new gimmick or if it's a viable strategy later when everyone's accustomed to it.
