  1. i believe the people playing arcades are only limiting their experience to a small degree, but if they are willing to stay playing arcades forever then it shouldn't matter, since their experience gained will be used against the very same players that got you to that level anyways online sometimes can expose you to some very strong opponents and you may learn various techniques and gimmicks through them that can be applied to the arcades but in the end, if you stick to the arcades you won't need them much since some gimmicks tend to work better with lag (purple throws) and the lack of lag in the offline scene can allow you to adjust to frame data, instant blocking, etc a lot easier due to it's input precision in the end you can learn from both, but if you are willing to stay with one (offline or online) try to expand at least a small bit, just to see what's out there but if you want to be great at both then go ahead but be careful, it's a bit of a mind fuck
