  1. If you're coming to a website that discusses a fighting game then obviously people are going to discuss the strengths and weakness's of different characters. Granted I got a little caught up in the debate but there is nothing wrong with discussing tiers since it can bring new insight into the character.
  2. Then why did you even jump to calling Naoto low tier in the first place lol? Not trying to start anything its just funny.
  3. I'm sorry I came off hostile like that but you mind pointing to where the players said that Naoto was bottom? I'm honestly curious, though I'm assuming it was BBS. Been listening to Jiyuna and he has been saying the Japanese opinion has been almost the exact opposite hence the confusion. Keep in mind the way you phrased it made it seem like you thought Naoto is low tier period, when I think of tiers I usually think of overall potential of a character not where they happen to be at this point in the game. I wasn't trying to offend you and if I did I apologize for that I just think you are really selling your character short, wouldn't be surprised if she overtook Narukami in top 3 tbh.
  4. She gets 2-3k midscreen and even more in the corner especially with the mudo loop. And of course you are going to give up damage for oki that almost always how it works not to mention as naoto you should probably already have traps set up. As for IK if you are smart about it you should be slowly going for it as the match goes on and the only reason you should be getting FC'd after using it is if you are throwing it out randomly at which point you deserve it. I'm not really sure what more you want out of a character. You're biggest complaint with Naoto seems to be damage which isn't what she is about. Naoto is about abusing her gun and traps and keeping the opponent locked down while getting consistent damage and the occasional big corner combo. She has more tools than almost any character in the game and therefore has to trade off a little in the damage and health. I still think her damage is decent for her character type plus people will keep finding new combos as time goes on. Honestly I think you are the only person who thinks of Naoto as anywhere near low tier.

I'm not sure what videos you are watching but Naoto is doing really good damage to the point where most Naotos are not even relying on her ik setups since a lot of the time you can just do a combo and set traps for oki. She also has some of the best run away in the game with traps, shooting stance, and her persona normals are incredible. She also has some of the best comeback potential in the game thanks to ik. Honestly I just dont see an argument for Naoto being low tier. Even Akihiko and Yukiko who I called low tier earlier are developing rapidly and moving up in the ranks so to rank Naoto below them is just crazy.
  6. I really don't know where people are getting that Naoto is considered the worst character if anything she is just outside top tier.
  7. According to jiyuna the top 3 right now are Mitsuru Chie and Yu followed by Kanji Naoto and arguably Yousuke. Bottom tier is either Yukiko or Akihiko but they are slowly moving up and Teddie is unpredictable as far as tiers. Also characters do wear their glasses during cut-ins for supers if I remember right, at least for awakening supers.

Technically Minato is not actually dead his souls is just acting as a barrier for Nyx and Elizabeth herself even says that she is on a quest to free his soul so it is possibile for him to make a return. Honestly though I would find it pretty humorous for it to happen in a fighting game of all places.
  9. Not sure if its been mentioned before but apparently quite a few supers are air unblockable as well as some normals. If I remember right Jiyuna said on stream that 2B was universally air unblockable though I'm curious if it might just be trip guard.
  10. I would assume just fixing glitches or some minor balance changes but this is arksys so who knows. If anything I'm sure there will be at least one major balance patch before the console release.
  11. Was looking at some videos and got me thinking. We know that going into awakening gives you a defensive boost i.e. guts. My question is if that defensive boost is different for all characters or if it's just a set amount?

Yukiko will definitely be a good character in the long run, the only area of her game that has me worried right now is damage and I have a feeling once more Yukikos start abusing fire amp that won't be as big a problem. I'm not too worried about any character being overpowered it's just that some characters are easier to figure out early on, hence kanji and chie looking so good (not to say they aren't great characters).
  13. Yousuke was in negative warning at the time so it may just be a way of indicating he is taking more damage than usual.
  14. Alright I could see something like doing a combo then ending with hama to where they have they to block once it's over. You give up the guaranteed damage but force your opponent to eat the mixup.
  15. Just out of curiosity can you even cast hamaon or mudo without the fate counter being at zero? I have a feeling you could just use it for mixups in general since it keeps the opponent in place, I have seen Yukiko players do similar things with maragidyne to either go for mixups or heal with dia.
  16. Man 8.5k for Yukiko sounds rough, but then again she would not be low health for no reason. I know I have said it before but I really wanna see Yukiko players abuse her buff specials and set up cross ups with that 5D. Lv 3 Maragidyne>agidyne just sounds painful.
  17. Of course right after I make that comment the next batch of videos shows a VAST improvement in player quality. Oh Japan....can you ever forgive me for being so stupid?
  18. I don't wanna rag on japanese players but I have not seen a lot of true quality gameplay yet, granted it's week one but some people are just playing their characters all wrong. For example I can see a lot of potential for Yukiko but most of the current players are trying to play her like a rushdown character and refusing to use her unblockables, power ups, persona normals, etc. Granted the latest batch of videos is showing a lot of improvement but I'm curious what even put them into that mindset to begin with. Also combos seem to be really lacking so far but whether that is just because of the engine has yet to be seen.
  19. Naoto's IK is really easy to dodge, just run to the corner and duck. People were just getting hit because they had never seen the thing before.
  20. If anything I think this game has a big advantage on other anime/airdash fighters considering it has good install base of persona 4 fans. Not to mention the fact that it was quickly confirmed for an american release, will have a good collection of match videos leading up to release, is being represented at sbo, etc.
  21. Well in the anime they briefly cover Yu dealing with his insecurities but he never directly confronts his shadow so maybe we could finally get it here?

  24. For some reason the shadow persona reminded me of Io, Yukari's persona. Also this is some inception stuff with a shadow having a persona. I mean you have what is essentially a persona.....with its own persona? @_@
