As you already know, EVO is schedule to run a BB:CT tournament this year. I know everyone is totally into BB:CS, but we don't believe a console port will be available in time for EVO and cannot possibly run a BB:CS tournament.
We knew this decision would be unpopular, but I believe we underestimated the extent. Almost all of the feedback on the shoryuken.com forums has been extremely negative, saying a BB:CT tournament is a waste of time and that we shouldn't even have BB at all if we cannot do BB:CS.
I'm here to ask for feedback on that decision. By not having a BB:CT tournament, we could include another game whose community would be much more excited to be featured at EVO that the BB community appears to be about BB:CT based on the SRK postings. Again, we would really like to make BB:CS a main event, but assume that is off the table for the purpose of this discussion.
So, do you guys, as a community, want to take BB:CT out of EVO so that another game can be added to the lineup? I'd like to hear your thoughts, please (either for or against replacing BB:CT with another game). This is not an academic exercise: your feedback will actually affect what we choose to do this year.
We would like to make a decision on this matter by this Friday (2/5/2010). Thanks.
