Current favorite crush trigger combo: 100 heat, crush trigger guard break, 6D> air OD>j2D>236D> Full Heat Overdrive Fuuenjin.

I'm prolly several days behind everyone, but have you also tried mixing up by jump canceling 5C after the first hit to do an air 5B overhead or 2D overhead/2D to jump over them? You can land some decent follow-ups afterward, especially heat-building and spending ones. If the overhead air 2D hits, you can chain 2A>2B>2C>5D>236D for ~1400 damage and 45 heat gain total. Not the fastest overhead, but hey, it works, and gives you heat for a crush trigger. I'm really thinking Terumi is going to have to make use of crush triggers more than any other character in this game. You can also jump cancel 5C to neutral jump 5B as you fall, or forward jump to leap over the enemy for a crossup 5B, which can be combo'd afterward using 5B>5C>6D>236D for ~2k and 50 heat gain, so you can tack on a super for extra damage or save the heat. I don't think air 5B is as fast as air 2D for an overhead, but in general the damage/heat yield seems greater and you can cross up with it.

Semi-different topic, but a question: does anyone know what the hell actually goes on in Terumi's arcade story mode? Sucks not being able to read Japanese.

You won't get it, I can confirm that much. Again, if the digital version gives you Terumi 'till November 7th, but physical copies outside preorders don't...well, fuck you, ArcSys, I could've gotten the digital version earlier than my physical copy, probably cheaper, AND gotten Terumi free/early? Bleargh. Oh well, guess I'm shelling out for Terumi in a week. I am, but I'm not sure what this would entail. Only one person on the account at a time? Similar restrictions? If so, I'd rather just have you keep your account and I can wait 'till the 7th, I think.

So basically if you A.) didn't pre-order the physical copy and B.) don't get the digital version for some reason, you're sore out of luck? That's retarded. If they were going to give Terumi to all digital copies before Nov. 7th they should've found a way to give it to basically anyone who got a copy before then (just check to see that they start the game up and connect to the network before Nov. 7th? Can't be that hard...). Damn I'm salty about this.

As much blasphemy as it might be to say it, I don't know if I'm all that interested in Koko. No stick, just a controller, not a ton of free time, don't know that I want to try to master a complex character. Might change my mind if I like what I see when she comes out, though. But fuck, dem markup prices on JP PSN cards. My poor wallet gets Astral'd.

Is it difficult to figure out the story mode true ending paths? You know, for someone who can't read Japanese. I'd rather not get screwed into buying a 3000 yen card just 'cuz Terumi is 800 and Kagura is 250, just 50 yen above what seems like the lowest priced card, 1000 yen.

So, basically, if you didn't pre-order, but bought the game, you can't even buy Terumi as DLC until November, even though he's ready to go. Ultimate lameness.

This is where I've hit a wall, as well. I can't seem to get that 5A to come out fast enough for the life of me after Rising Fang-->Forward Dash before the opponent can tech.

EDIT: Nevermind, guess I have to wait till November to download Terumi. Yay.

Yeah, I'm gonna need to get PSN points to download Terumi, apparently. What's the quickest way to do that? I don't want to have to wait for some company to mail me a card with a code on it, if possible.

So, the consensus is Play-Asia is the way to go?
