  1. What is it about Eddie that makes him always fall out of the 2nd hit of j.K for me? Pretty much any time when trying to bring him closer to the ground to end in j.K > j.K > j.D > alpha he falls out between the j.Ks. I usually just do a simpler combo up to the ceiling instead. I notice the same thing with Ky sometimes too. Any alternative to bring them closer to the ground to end an air combo in j.D > alpha?
  2. So no more floor slide on counter hit?
  3. This one progresses nicely. I'm not sure if it's in the combo thread already. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSRjdAC15R0
  4. PSN: RobFig Main: Chipp, Ky Location: Toronto, Ontario Haven't had too much time with +R yet but looking to grind. I'll join the chat later!
  5. Thanks for the help. I'm still working on that CH slide combo but getting better. Anyway, got another question. In training mode I've been practicing a block string into 22D>j.HS>alpha. The j.HS seems to hit properly in training mode, but when I try it in a real match it seems to go too far over them and the j.HS only hits once and the alpha blade goes the wrong way. The block string I usually do is S©>6A>S©>HS>22D. I've been practicing on Eddie and against Eddie in the real match. Does the HS push them too far back causing the D teleport to come out on top instead of behind them?
  6. Any tips to land the CH j.D slide combo more consistently? j.D>dash>5S>5HS>IAD>j.P>j.D>alpha to be clear. They always seem to tech out right while I'm airdashing towards them with the j.P and I get air-thrown. Is it likely the IAD is too late, or the j.P is too late? Does 5HS have to be done as close as possible while they are sliding? Should I hold 9 while the HS is hitting? I know practice is the answer but I was wondering if there were any tips that can make practice more worthwhile. I seem to land it like 1 in 20 times at the moment so I tend to do the version without the airdash and alpha blade.
  7. I'm pretty certain I'm going to make it to AN, but because PSN will probably be down until then I will not have faced another human in a looong time. Also probably won't be able to touch CS2 before then.
  8. I've been a ghost lately (and before too), but has there been any word of a tourney or casuals at Anime North this year?
  9. Is there any point to canceling a successful air-throw with hotaru? I doubt it's possible to have the hotaru hit after the throw has done its damage. I remember you could to the same thing off j.D in CT but it was kind of pointless.
  10. Do you have to hop 5C, or will walk forward work? I know I've hit walk forward 5C before, but I'm not sure if it'll work on all characters. Thanks for the info, haven't had time to try them yet.
  11. Thanks for the info, but I realized I made a mistake. I meant 2D instead of 2C. Sorry about that
  12. Hey Hakumen players, the thread has been very helpful so far. I picked up Hakumen as a sub around the time CT was ending, and now I main him in CS. Anyway, I'm just gonna dump all my questions at once, here we go! What's the best option after landing a 5D? In CT I believe it bounced them off the ground and you could do the same followups as a 2D. In CS since they land on the ground beside you, they can tech right away. Is it worth trying to catch their tech with a 6C or 2C if it's not guaranteed? What are the best less-than-4-mag options after 2C? I usually do 2C>6C>632146C, but if I don't have the meter I'll just hit 6C. I know the timing is a bit tricky to hop>5B or 5C etc... Is 214B(2hits)>214A>6C a good amount of damage for 3 mags? I do it a lot but never see any other Hakumen players do it. Will gurren after one hit of renka do more damage? Is there a point to IB Yukikaze in the middle of an opponent's distortion other than looking really cool? Or is it better to just wait till it's done and 6C>632146C?
  13. Speaking of dual mods, I just got my PS3 stick dual modded by someone I know. Just used a gutted 360 pad and a physical throw switch so it only works on PS3 and 360. I did it so I can play on Xbox while on campus. Also, I haven't been too active lately but I plan on making it to LG this Friday.
  14. Really don't worry about losing, it's incentive to train harder and do better next time.
  15. Wish I could have made it to T11 but I was busy Saturday and Sunday. I would have loved to watch the NY SFIV players too. Oh well there's always next year I guess.
