  1. Hey, how'd the tourney go!?

  2. I have SSFIV and BB:CT/BB:CS for PS3. I have GGXXAC+ for PS2, and I'd like to try SF:3S and MB if I had the opportunity. I definitely want to get into more fighters, I just don't have people to practice with (nor the proper equipment...my stick doesnt work w/ PS2 and I don't have a JP PS2 for MB) but I'm working towards changing that! I also suck at SFFIV lol, links kill me.
  3. @ Supa Awesome! I'd love to actually sit down and learn GG. Blazblue was my first fighter and it's really the only fighting i'm proficient in. I'm in the NW Burbs, we should work out some gatherings! Also, this goes out to all in the chicagoland area/players willing to come out here. I'm working on organizing the chicago blazblue scene into a compiled list of players, because there are a LOT of stragglers who play alone and we never get to meet you! We could all use practice, and it's always nice to meet people/play in person. If you're interested in being involved, PM me and I'll let you know more about what I have in mind
  4. Yes! FF3 is happening! I was so sad when i saw it being potentially cancelled!

  5. Hey there! Any news on when you guys are gonna meet up to practice for this weekend?

  6. Hey there, Heroic_Legacy informed me that you were interested in possibly meeting up w/ some Chicagoland Blazblue players! I'm trying to compile a list of everyone who wants to play together in the area and work out a way to meet up in the next few months. Would you be interested in such gatherings? :D If not it's totally cool, feel free to add me on PSN too! (PSN name is my Username) Just thought I'd throw you an invite! -Bacon

  7. Took me about a year, mainly because I didn't put in the kind of hours I did back then as I do now. Once you get dedicated, things start to move along much faster for ya
  8. This is a bit random, but I just wanna say that you have the best Avatar ever. haha.

  9. @No Limitz Be careful about airdashing predictably or when you think you have an opening. Especially against a seasoned Tager, they're always waiting to whip out an AC to punish a careless forward dash. Also be careful about jumping in general due to magnetism. On a more general note: For the most part, try to use jumping for more combo extensive purposes (i.e. when sword juggling) instead of means of escape. Work on learning opponents mixups in order to block/counter effectively. Then once you've put your opponent back to the wall (with a reset such as crescent blade) go back to using your swords to poke and find an opening.
  10. Thanks Dacid, hopefully Dustloop will be hearing of a solid BB-Chicago group in the next few months :)

  11. Thanks for the add. Feel free to add me on PSN if you want someone to play w/ online! :)

  12. Glad to hear it, thanks for the info!

  13. I've been itching to play with people offline and in person! I'm in the NW suburbs until January, then I'm back downtown for school. Feel free to add me on PSN/hit me up if you wanna play!
  14. Hey, it's been a while since we've played! I've been practicing relentlessly and wanna come out and practice with you guys in Addison. You still playing on Tuesday/Thursday nights? If not, when/where do you guys play now? And I've finally switched to stick and am nearly done ironing out the kinks in my dropping of combos (only started using it recently so I still drop a MTW or AC every now and then :P)

  15. loved the podcast Dacid, props to you & the other guys for doing it. I definitely agree on the points you made on the community. We need to focus more on really digging into match up strategy rather than extending our combos an extra few hits. And I'm in that boat of people who want to get involved with the community more and have met a few of the local members (I'm in the NW suburbs of Chicago) but have a hard time actually finding people to practice with on a consistent basis. And as much practice as I do get from playing online, like you guys said- it's not the same as live matches. I guess I'm in a similar boat to tubazo1989, only I haven't won a tourney yet and can't make it out to Cali to play where the scene is hot, haha. Do you suggest that I work on trying to host an event rather than wait for one? I've never done it before so I wouldn't really know where to start :P Again, solid job w/ the Podcast, and if you play online- Hopefully I'll fight you sometime!

  16. I'm in the suburbs all December and during the summers, but I go to school downtown! I'm working on getting together a Blazblue gathering down here and maybe we can take trips out to you guys in the burbs every so often!
  17. Hey guys, I'm starting to play Carl more and I wanted all of your opinions on whether or not this seems like an applicable/smart combo. I was messing around in training mode and found out the following string worked- 4BC, 22]D[ (upon grab), 236A, 2C, 214214D, j.214C, 8]D[, forward dash, 2C, Continue the Carl Clap. The thing is the timing and placement on the allegretto is pretty hard to nail consistently, but I've made this work multiple times. I does just about 4k and has no holes until the 3rd or 4th clap in which they can still get caught and reset the proration. So yeah, I'm just wondering if this sounds like a useful tactic or some scrubby/sloppy combo that really shouldn't be pursued :P
  18. How are we gonna play BB:CS? Will there be a machine there? IF CS doesn't work out then there should at least be CT
