  5. oh serbia, okay not much of a choice then is there.... well there's always http://www.arcadeshop.de/index.php parts but they are a tad expensive but they're located in europe
  6. nope sry, didn't really keep up with competitive SF or competitive arcade anything until this year
  7. damn canada cup justin wong just got taken out by some unknown man....
  8. Hori not generally a parts manufacturer but a joystick manufacturer. Sanwa on the other hand are just joystick component manufacturers. Hori deals with all parts of the joystick from case, to the controller PCB to the buttons and joystick parts, while Sanwa just deal with from what I've seen, pushbuttons and joysticks. Because hori deals with all parts, they tend to not have as good a quality and feel as sanwas do and they use different components. In terms of joysticks, from what i've seen from my Hori Ex2 they also use omron microswitches (i was surprised at this acutally) and they have their own gate and spring system which in my opinion doesn't feel rather good. The way they've oriented it makes the stick feel really mushy, especially in the corners. In my opinion the only difference between the two is the spring tension and the gate.
  9. no seimitsu parts? also herpderp its based in HK which would result in killer shipping to canadurr..., i'd rather get parts from akibashop/lizardlick namely people trusted from SRK :3 also no custom PCBs....
  10. so you're playing on PS2 (acutally i can get a PS1 pad for dirt cheaper than that...), also your price quotes are saying that you buy them for dirt cheap and i need to figure out where you get your parts from and if they ship to canada. (unless they're from akibashop and you're using the generic method of converting yen to USD and not factoring in the near 15 in shipping costs but that still doens't explain the PCB if you're trying to make it work for ps3...) mine are quoted for eihter ps3 via cthulhu, xbox360 via madcatz 4716 pcb or a dual mod using the two also _Sey, good shit with those clean looking stock sticks :3
  11. trust me those shoryus get easy as you practice. main thing is to not aim for the corners of the gate until the 3. You've gotta get used to swingin that stick in the square and not hit corners
  12. oh also if you're super lazy about making your own joysticks cases and just want to put the parts in with wiring, lizardlick is selling dem smexy foehammer cases http://www.lizardlick.com/DIY-Cases_c_239.html just pick up all of your stuff in one go and you're set with your very own arcade stick
  13. take that, i have put my name in the high scores of melty :3
  14. That's still in parts alone only, there's still cost of your wires, quick disconnects, and soldering tools if you're gonna padhack and maybe a multimeter just to double check. Last thing you want is to cross your power and your ground and have it end up shorting your circuit board and your console (which after that moment may go poof). Also don't forget about finishing that case. Not much of a fan of keysticks but that case won't look half bad with matte black
  15. k2 i found the perfect ebook for you edit: fuck they took down the book from amazon ;_; just read the link title instead and imagine what it says
  16. Its okay, as long as you don't commit a crime, we won't disown you :3
  17. www.slagcoin.com all you need to know... Let me just iterate that making your own stick is NOT CHEAPER THAN BUYING A MASS PRODUCED STICK Yes the TE costs 150 bucks (or sometimes 100 if you catch the plethora of sales on the madcatz store) but think about what goes into that. Its around 3-4 USD per 30mm button and 2-3 for each 24mm button. A JLF with a balltop now costs 25-30 usd now. so that comes up to around 60 dollars for just parts alone. The pcb of a generic controller or a custom pcb that you could use comes up to anywhere between 25-50 dollars. That alone sets you back around $110 for parts. And for a wooden case, that would come up to around 30-50-ish in materials. So all in all you're already past the price range of a TE, (not even calculating labour you'll put in). Unless you have all of the tools, materials and skills (both woodworking and electronic) beforehand. You'll need a drill (better yet a drill press and a handheld drill) a hand saw (better yet a table saw/circular saw with a straight edge guide) sandpaper (or an automatic hand sander with varying grades of sandpaper grit ranging from 250 - 1000 or the highest you can get) , drill bits, forstner bits, wood glue, primer, paint and clear/finishing coat or prestain, wood stain and finishing coat. Some things that will make your sticks extra sexy a FUCKING ROUTER. Routing your edges result in a really really nice edging for your joysticks. Making your own joystick is a lot of work. It took me about 2 months on my own to make my magi, http://www.joystickvault.com/showgallery.php?cat=1038&ppuser=3189 and a lot of elbow grease to make a few more (which are nicer than the magi now to say the least). That's just for the case alone, you'd also have to padhack and do wiring which involves a basic knowledge of soldering and wiring. tl;dr - making joysticks is an expensive thing and unless you're gonna churn out case after case and joystick after joystick to sell, its not going to be worth it to make your own joysticks
  18. there you go, we already know that there is some form of lag from PS3 to Xbox360 from tests shown in street fighter 4 (xbox was actually faster by 1-2 frames i think) (i'm not just full of shittalk and weaboo :3)
  19. if its a chimp and a 360 madcatz pcb then it should be the exact same timing, there should be no issue about inputs and input lag from each side.
  20. oh tofu, 5pb from what i know in my repitore made chaos;head which is just a visual novel. It was an interesting read to say the least edit: fk i was late to the sadlife games party. also 5pb and nitro+ did the game, nitro+ did the writing, i dunno what 5pb did though lol...
