  1. Ah, my mistake. Thanks for explaining that Arifureta.
  2. What's the damage on that combo? Just curious. It'll definitely be good if you're going for the kill. Also, everyone has me confused here. How does 4D~D combo into 5B, and 2C? Do you mean j.B and j.2C? Or was the 4D~D meant to be a 4D~A? Also, from now on out... All questions from the combo thread shouldn't be answered... Just ask them in the gameplay discussion thread if you want an answer guys. Pretty self-explanatory, thanks.
  3. Either way, everyone will fall to my Hazama. Then when everything filtered out. Only I and another Ragna will remain, so we can have awesome epic Nightmare Fiction matches. Everyone else will lose to us, mwuahahaha. Okay, but seriously. It's a good thing a lot of beginners will filter out.
  4. Yeah, I remember when we learned that 214D~A combos into 5A without crouching, charge, or CH. The damage is low though, so I don't think it's really worth it. Still a viable option if you happen to catch someone off guard with a Ressenga though.
  5. Yeah, Hazama's a great character to use when you finally get used to his gameplay style. Very versatile, and I feel like there's a lot of combo creation you can do with him. Basically a lot of freedom to play a diverse style with him. On the other hand, all characters may have this potential, but he felt the most natural to me. It seems like less and less people are using Hazama these days, so if you decide to switch over to him Demethieus, he may not be as common as he once was. Side Note: I see you're using Arakune now ARC-IX, that's pretty awesome. He's my second favorite character in the game, and you gotta love that damage potential. If you have a PSN, I'd enjoy adding you and playing some player matches in CS.
  6. I actually tried this combo out myself a few weeks ago. I like it, it's very flashy. I think Fireryda has the patton on this one though. I'll check the combo thread now, but I believe it's been submitted a long time ago. Edit: Yeah already found this combo in the flashy section. Decent damage for a flashy combo too.: 5B > 3C > 214D~A > 5A > 5C > 4D~A > 4D~D > j.214B# Damage: ~2763
  7. Do you mean doing 3C then going into 236236B. Try buffering the Jayoku during 3C, you just have to be fast with your fingers.
  8. If that's the case, then you're doing it too slow Ghost Beef. I have trouble getting the Dash 3C down myself. The thing is, when you do a normal 3C > Jayoku, you have plenty of time for the followup, since they trip and the input time is great, because they're stunned so long. On the other hand, after Jakou, the bounce very slightly on the ground, so you need to 3C > Jayoku extremely fast. My best recommendation to master it is practicing 3C to Jayoku lighting fast by itself, in training mode, if you have access to it. You can even start buffering the 236236B motion during the 3C. You just have to be lighting fast bud, good luck.
  9. I see. I'm no good at it though. Any tricks you'd recommend? I've tried timing it when I'm up close, but it never works. I think I might have to use it from a distance when I predict my opponent is going to rush me. And do you know if all 3 knives need to hit for it to be a CH, or can 1-2 still cause the same effect/CH stun, etc.
  10. Haha, man, you're really hard to read Fireryda. Still not 100% sure you're being serious here. Nonetheless. If you have a PS3, I'd enjoy adding you and watching Hazama beat the hell out of a (another) little girl.
  11. Yeah, but 6C CH starter is pretty impractical in a professional match though. Interesting combo nonetheless. I wondered what I was missing at the 5D~D part, so the air throw stops the momentum... I understand now, thanks for clearing that up. I think he means: 5B > 3C > 214D~C > 5C > (JC) [j.Cx5] > (Land) 2C > 4D~D > j.214B# The thing is, it's impossible to use more than one 4D~A in that combo, or any for that matter... since it will automatically blue beat. You have to go straight to the 4D~D unless there's something really weird going on like some CH or FC, etc.
  12. I would never switch actually. I like Hazama for both gameplay and psychological reasons. His personality, and appearance is too awesome for me to ever pass up. I just think switching from an arrogant evil bastard to a magical girl lolita is a bit strange, haha.
  13. ^Mehh, lol. Nonetheless, one less Hazama to compete with. I wonder how many people will switch from Hazama to Valkenhayn, Platina, or Makoto. I can understand switching to Valkenhayn, since he's another awesome guy in a suit. But the other two... I don't know. I'm surprised Fireryda is switching, unless he was joking around.
  14. They have not made a Riddler Hazama yet. I will be all over that since Riddler's my favorite character from Batman, haha. Too bad he can never have the Masquerade. Always had a thing for awesome bad guys in suits. And not the type in the mafia/organization, etc. More like insane anarchists who try to change the world in one way or another.
  15. Haha, one less Hazama I have to compete with. It's all part of my great plan to never have to experience a mirror match, mwuahahahaha.
  16. Well, right now they have the 12 characters from BB:CT, Mu-12, Hazama, Tsubaki, and the three DLC: Valkenhayn, Platina, and Makoto. For a grand total of 18 diverse characters. Almost 20 now... and I remember people complaining that they were only adding two new characters. Apparently Arc System Works took those complaints to heart, haha. Valkenhayn's pcture was there, so that's what he'll look like on the character selection screen. Looks pretty cool to me. I'll still main Hazama, and my friend's maining Valkenhayn, so we'll have some epic character specific quote battles.
  17. I'm definitely sticking with the english voices. And not sure if this is the right thread for this, but there really isn't a "general discussion" Hazama thread. http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/read_article.php?topic_id=27368583&union_id=19879 For those who didn't know already, Valkenhayn and Platina officially confirmed. Platina's art style still looks out of place to me. But the real hype!!!!!! JOKER HAZAMA - Last three images. I will use this outfit whenever I'm showing off my skills on beginner players, then switch to the Dark Hazama when I'm serious. I like Hazama more than the joker, but joker has to be one of my favorite characters out there. So this is super awesome. He actually looks an insane amount like the joker in his Terumi form with that outfit.
  18. Yeah, some of his english lines suit him near perfectly. Even his english laugh on Mizuchi is still really good. Probably not as good as japanese, but still amazing. Then when he announces his moves, and his voice echoes, it just sounds really out of place.
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0JqKTTZ2K4 Helps you get a better feel of Hazama's english voice. To me, it seems like Hazama has different voices for different situations, almost like different personalities: 1. Crazy evil hating Rachel/Ragna state. 2. Mocking ghost voice that he talked to Valkenhayn with. 3. Serious "captain" voice, Serpent's Benediction, Astral, etc. 4. Joking, doesn't enjoy fighting voice. Haha, that's what I can make of it anyways. Personally, I like most of his english voice acting, excluding the extremely serious, deep, echoing voice (Serpent's Benediction, etc). The japanese VA is probably better, but once I get used to the english version, I'm sure I'll stick with it. I really like some of his quotes though, like: "Welcome ladies and gentlemen..." "I guess you're too weak" "I couldn't kill such a respectable opponent... not yet" Hoping that last one's against Ragna, but I think it's against Hakumen. It'll take some getting used to when he says the names of his moves... he's not freakin' Bang Shishigami.... I expected more of Hazama, haha.
  20. ^ Keo-bas. I'm not sure if Hazama's playstyle would fit well with you. Hazama's has an extremely high damage output when you're in the corner and a very strong reversal distortion drive. But you really need the heat to make it worth it, since it's relatively hard for Hazama to escape pressure. There's a lot of ways you can play Hazama, you can zone, be hyper-agressive, possibly even defensive. Try watching some Zakiyama videos, since he might play along the lines you're talking about. Personally, I want to play with a bit more rushdown, but honestly, whatever leads me to win I'll go with. Everyone has their own natural habits and unique ways of playing a charactar. And I don't know if I'd say his damage output is low. He can reach high damage pretty quickly, but it solely depends on the attack you used to start a combo, via proration and the like. Also, as for his combos being strict timing, not exactly. Some of his combos from the distortion drive are hard to pull off at first. But all of his other combos are pretty easy to do. The main thing you absolutely need to understand with Hazama is spacing and your distance from the opponent. All of your combos will have to be adjusted slightly with timing/distance depending on the character you're facing as well. So you'll need to start in practice and get a feel for most of the cast. To me, playing him is pretty intuitive, but some people think he feels weird to get used to it. Try him out and let me know what you think.
  21. The chart's clearly dependent on the players' skill level in that particular area.
  22. I'll look forward to it tomorrow night. Work all day tomorrow... :/ Good luck kid viper. I better see some Mizuchi Rekkazans, haha.
  23. Yeah, I like how he short dashes, since it makes dash canceling much easier. Despite how most people hate it because his mobility's low in running. Just chain all over the place, haha. Well, not exactly, but once you get the hang of moving with the chain, I think it's easier than running. I was an Arakune main, so I'm used to weird gimmicks with getting out of the corner. Every now and then I find myself air dashing backwards towards the wall though. Too used to that across the screen teleport. And true, kid viper. You can use RC's, and Jayoku's all day with Hazama, and still pull off a victory. That's why abare can be so great with him. Random hit into opponent's death is awesome. The main thing you need to pay attention to is what you started the combo with, since it heavily influences the damage via proration, and even when the combo will blue beat.
  24. Yeah, I still haven't mastered that yet unfortunately. For some reason I have a lot of trouble dash canceling anything. I find it difficult to dash into 3C after 623D, dashing into 5C even gives me some problems. Hell, even dash canceling with Ragna in CT gave me some issues, haha. Yet I find Jakou into Mizuchi to be relatively easy. Ah well, and I'm not really in support for wasting heat. It just goes well with Buppa's hyperagressive, unpredictable style with Hazama.
  25. Tell that to Buppa :-/ Haha. But yeah, I prefer to go for FC kills to increase the damage. By the way, I often find myself bacthrowing into Jayoku for a 6D~A x 2 > 623D and the corner combo.
