Why on earth WOULDN'T Arcsys make 100% certain that the game runs 100% on the PS3? The PS4 mindshare is nigh non-existent in Japan. Or is that hearsay, and the number is not in fact extremely low, comparatively? -
So. Challenge 26 is annoying, to say the least. I do not remember Millia toss run stop being this annoying, even. This combo makes me feel like other games this gen have made my skills soft. I hope that isn't the case, and that it really is hard. But my skills are probably soft. Sigh.

Do it mid-screen, for ease of execution's sake. The h.jc is amidst the second part of 6CC. It seriously is easier mid-screen. Tsubaki reminds me of Sophitia; but in a good fighting game. EDIT: It's just as easy in the corner.

Ah. Thanks, heh. With 8 or hours of sleep under my belt, it's all so very clear now, lol! As to the discussion at hand, I think that both Teyah and Hellmonkey make valid points, as does ReaVer. While the current B.O.B.s are finding new things out that very well could alter the tiers somewhat, the fact of the game having been out for nearly 2 years offers much credence to the established list, which had been created when all the top players were still active. It's highly doubtful that if an old-school player were to come out of hibernation that he/she would get jacked too hard for not knowing anything that's come out of late. And, as ReaVer said, there's probably a significant chunk of active/semi-active top level players whose tech. and/or theory don't get all the shine that others' do.

Thanks, man! :grin: I've been playing a lil' bit this last week, and the inevitable visions of what could be in a sequel brimmed as unshed tears in my eyes... for a moment I actually thought I saw Shuu get hit by a fast high punch Cross, TK low punch Cross mixup with my Zow-za. Mmmm... 2 speeds of Crosses... ...Shuu... And a third tier of K.O.s. Make it Deadly (same as #1), Mortal (the FTKO in #1), and make Fatal KOs the bloody match ending goodness that they should have been. Maybe they could even make the game play like Vampire Savior, and have characters "come back" with a revitalized star and a second life bar. Ken can get 80% off of a hit-confirmed two-step toe tap, so yeah, that's ridiculous. ...but what really sets Yuda higher is the unblockable bullshit, as Gwrygyn says. Who cares if some of them miss, when the threat is enough to set another one up, to hit, lol!

That pretty much sums up my take on the tiers too, Tiamat. Thouther's main problem is being anemic. Otherwise, he'd hang squarely with Shin and Kenshiro, imho. Every time I play this game anymore, it just makes me want to cry - thinking of all the goodness that might have been, given a sequel <sob>. Imagine: "HNK2 - MvC2 character selection goodness". With just that alone, it'd have true staying power...

But CD>Scoops/Spear Loop/etc. is soooo good, man! Thouther has one of the better CDs in the game, so why not use it? Everyone's gonna be looking for that 2B anyway - use that CD in his rushdown too. I don't know of any way to fist cancel into CD with Thouther - I too boost into it whenever I don't set it up raw.

And yet I still have an absolute blast playing as Zow-za. Scoops are not only 3/4 life, but funny as all fuck.

5D, 2CD, 2CD for Ken. I found that out several months back while messin' with the Anti-Shin. It's much easier.

Death Star, Gwyrgyn Blood: Many thanks guys! I appreciate all of your advice. I'm a Shin player normally, but have been expanding my horizons. I played around with Ken, Toki, and Rei, but didn't really like any of them as much as Shin (Ken is kind of fun though - I love to whore that IAD loop, and Fist-Canceling into it is quite satisfying), but I've been really digging Thouther.

I forgot to put the second loop part into my combo, lol - fixed it. It is actually 55+ damage - including blue - with no TKs, no extra boost, no aura, and a knockdown in the corner. Fairly easy for the results. What would you do instead, GB?

Heya, all! I was just messing around with Zow-Zah! last night in practice, against Shin. Anyways, I was doing CD variations and found a rather nice one! CD > 6 > 2C*2 > c.5D > j.c. > JB > JC > 214A > JB > JC 214A (2 hits) > AB. You can substitute c.5C > f.5C for the 2C*2, but it's more difficult. It's rather timing/bounce specific, but it has the very nice attribute of tagging AB on the end... which kills the blue regen - giving you a clean, unhealable 40+ damage, 2 Star combo. Dunno if it's character specific, and it probably needs adjusting on other characters but hey - it'll definitely freak out anyone who expects to be able to possibly heal up if they escape the corner.

Well, what I meant was - does or does not the "Limited" Guard setting cause recovery whenever it is possible, and, further, does it prevent some things that should combo in-game, from comboing in practice mode? Many thanks.

I have a quick question. What are the exact settings that one is supposed to use in training? I'd really like to see if I have my game configured properly. A big question of mine is: Do you guys set enemy guard to "limited"? I have always set it up that way. I was wondering whether or not there were legit combo instances that don't show up with the game set my way.

Heya all - long time no see! Anyways, I was just bored and on break this evening and decided to start messing around with the Anti-Shin. I was practicing his allegedly useless fist cancel and figured something out that I hadn't seen posted in here before. It's usually considered worthless for the amount of trouble it takes to get the execution down, from what I understood in previous posts in here. But I found out the easiest way to get that shit off 100% of the time. All that's required is simply 5D>2CD>CD or 5D>2CD>2CD. That's hella easier than jamming a quick 2D in there. And it makes his whole game that much better. I'm actually starting to enjoy playing as Ken now. Anyways, it's probably already known, but I couldn't find this tip anywhere else, so I thought I'd post it here - peace out! -

Every kaqn vs. Potemkin vid on youtube that I've seen has him "being a dick literally". Lol. That style of play ought to be called kaqn true style Or, with phonetic liberties taken: cockin' literal style. Methinks it's only fair play though, given Pot's pure priority + damage silliness.
