  1. It's netplay, there's no such thing as respect. Netplay is like the side-street bar room brawls of FG's... Honor be damned you punch until the other person stops moving lol...
  2. Even if it's integrated into the system of the game, all they really need to do is up the cap on the SMP system from 10 moves to something like 15, that would prevent anyone from really abusing it... The Same Move Proration system isn't really a bad idea in general, I just don't think they expected to deal with a situation like this so they set the limiter at ten moves without expecting a character to be able to abuse it in this way...

I don't even care that I keep getting bodied as Naoto, I feel I learn faster by losing than through winning (which, depending on the calibur of opponents, can actually encourage several bad habits), if I get frustrated at not being able to win, I switch to either Yu or Akihiko, their pressure game is so derpy it's easy to body people, an advantage poor Nao can't abuse as well... But converting trap hits into 3-4k damage just feels SO good lol. And her SMG super is just gdlk, Silence is a really useful status, wrecks a lot of characters game-plans, ESPECIALLY Liz, Yuki, Yu, and Kanji (who can't spam his SPD wihout his Persona). So is it practical to use Mudoon in NON-SMP corner combos? A basic combo into SMG Super does about 3.4k iirc (on top of the status effect), so I'd like to know if a Mudoon corner combo can do significantly more damage than that. I'd rather not learn the SMP loop tbh, there's a good chance it'll get patched out and I dislike loops on principle...

  7. Maybe you'll have to be IN Overdrive mode to be able to Astral? that basically makes the requirements the same as they are now, but it's just harder to set-up...
  8. You shouldn't lie to yourself like that, it's not healthy lol... I hope they give Hazama some way to do a legitimate combo for once so he doesn't have to do loops all day long... IF I WANTED LOOPS I'D MAIN CARL ASW! FIX IT! It should be interesting to see how they buff/nerf characters specific Overdrive modes throughout these loketests... I wonder if they'll go so far as to nerf a characters normal play to compensate for having a particularly OP Overdrive or something of that nature (honestly, I hope they opt for doing the opposite actually, but it's not really up to us lol)
  9. I think people need to stop comparing things like Overdrive and Awakening (or anything for that matter really) to X-Factor, it's really an unfair comparison. X-Factor was, and still is, bat-shit insane in how they implemented it, everyone knows it, but that shouldn't damn companies from trying a similar idea... the CONCEPT of X-Factor is actually pretty interesting when you disregard how blatantly overpowered Capcom made it. Besides, according to what's in the BBCP data thread atm Overdrive lasts a maximum of 15 seconds, 15 seconds is a lot in MVC3 time, but in BB, with the amount of health it probably takes to get 15 seconds of Overdrive, unless you're pressuring the shit out of them (or playing keepaway like a baws) good luck surviving the 15 seconds you get... Personally from what I've seen of BBCP so far it seems that ASW is taking what they learned from people's reaction to P4A and using it to improve their flagship franchise (Overdrive/Awakening, Bursts serving secondary functions, etc.) which is great. All that aside, I'm DYING to see the crazy shit some characters will be able to pull off combo-wise in Overdrive mode... If it wasn't for P4A I would cryogenically freeze myself until this game came out lol...
  10. Dash off of 214D sounds SO gdlk. I love the direction they've been taking Hazama in since CS1 as far as his neutral game is concerned. And yet... I agree that something really has to be done about his combo-ability, loops are fucking dumb, Hirentotsu loop is stupid, 6C loop was stupid, Crescent/Taunt/Clap loop were stupid, and don't even get me started on this SMP shit... I hope that Hazama whips that fedora off and goes full-on Terumi for his overdrive mode, that would be hype as FUCK... Can't wait to abuse that leech-ring of doom lol

  12. When it comes down to it, both Plat and Valk are offensive powerhouses with shitty defenses, so it'll probably boil down to who gets started first...
  13. Pretty much, CS2 turned everyone who wasn't already a rapist in the corner into one. If you're unsure what to do midscreen I had the same problem for a good while at first, try to focus on: 1) building meter, its a huge priority, especially for Hazama. With meter it's effortless to land a 3C > Houtenjin into whatever, corner be damned. 2) mixups, a clean 214D~C can lead to REAL pain, meter or no. End your shorter midscreen BnB's with 214D~A and go for oki, if you're close to the corner go for a 236D ender instead to push that little bit more (and if it causes a wallbounce from midscreen remember you can follow up with chains). Use 2A to keep your opponent honest, and don't forget about Haz's 6A. 3) trolling, seriously. If you piss someone off they get stupid (most of the time, lol). If they get stupid and you can stay level-headed you have a straight up advantage. That means teasing people with chains, fucking up their shit with command grab, Houtenjin, what have you. Is there a way to upload saved replays or do I have to get all that video capturing stuff? (might get it anyways for Marvel since Capcom is retarded and there ARE no replays). Because I'd like to throw some matches up here for critiquing as well because I intend to play Hazama much heavier is CS2 and I'd like feedback lol.
  14. I wish I still had my PSP, I miss playing Guilty Gear and I would totally pick up CS2 portable at this point (though it's lack of shiny HD-ness would bug me). Hopefully Sony does something awesome for once during this whole fiasco and the store goes up today at 1 AM, but I'm not holding my breath...
