  1. @6:20 you don't (usually) need to hit neutral before you hit 2. 63214 gets you the 214 if you don't have a move that's 63214. Also, be sure to be practicing combos in both directions, and that'll probably help with your issues.
  2. Never figured out what your twitter was...
  3. It's always like that at first. I got past that frustration by learning a new game that I had zero experience playing on pad (and for a while all I didn't have much but training mode anyway). Been playing too many games with two (or one) button dashes to really be consistent with IADs, but I just learned to IAD the old boring way of just doing 9, then 6. I know for some other games that don't allow 96 that you have to do 686 instead, but my understanding is that since GG allows you to do 96, it's easier/better. YMMV though, if you can actually get that trick to be consistent (while not being a huge pain on your hands) then I would just use that.
  4. Regarding IADs, it looks like you're trying to do some kind of trick to get IAD on right side. If you think it's too elaborate, you might want to practice just doing 9, then 6 (like it looks like you're doing on the left side. Do both the motion you're doing now and just the individual pieces slowly to see which ones feels more comfortable.. As a warmup before playing online, you might want to beat on the cpu in arcade mode just to get used to playing with stick. That said, your execution is a lot better than my week 1, lol.
  5. Even outside of anti-airing, there are quite a few examples of moves that win situations because of unusual properties like upper-body invincibility that can make some pokes a risky situation. I don't see a lot of the whiffed normals* like the textbook examples in street fighter so you may have to look at other options in a different light. * - for the purposes of footsies at least. There are a few neat tricks that involve either whiffing a move because it's safer than letting the move before it recover (Johnny 5H -> 5D, Melty Blood reverse beat into 2A whiff), or for throw mixups.
  6. I disagree with this, gimmicks fit really well into the problem solving model of learning in fighting games. If you're just sticking to solid play then they'll have a much harder time finding their answers to the problems you're proposing, and will ultimately be more frustrating for the other player involved. It's roughly the equivalent of skipping halfway into a game; you're facing more difficult/complex variations of earlier problems, without any of the context. Back to the topic, losing is inevitable, even for top players, so you'll need to learn how to keep your frustration in check or use it as motivation to improve. I tend to be less frustrated with a large losing streak when my goal is not to win matches, but rather to win a certain number of encounters. Blocked an overhead? Win. Got out of the corner? Win. Made a move whiff and punished them? Even if I drop the combo, win. There are some people I play against where denying the perfect is pretty much my only goal. When you do run into that guy who completely stomps you (or really, anyone that is better than you), send them ggs and ask them how you could improve. Even if you have a good idea of what your biggest problems as a player are, they still could reveal something you've overlooked or even suggest a solution to something you're dealing with. Posting this thread is good indicator that you're not afraid to ask for advice though, so just keep going. 7.     That's like saying moves "chip" the barrier gauge when you're barriering... Anyway, just treat Amane's drill like an unblockable, and adapt.
  8. That art looks really nice and clean, but the dust washer would cover most of Junpei's shoulder... I would move him over to the left.
  9. It's also hella early, so we'll see.
  10. Regarding no one "clicking" with you in guilty gear, from my experience it's pretty normal among a handful of individuals. My advice is just to pick one (maybe look at some videos and see who looks the coolest/most fun) and take it as far as you can, because I'm not even sure I've felt that "click" and I've been playing for years.
  11. You could theoretically impose limits on what colors are selectable for every part, even requiring some variance between the different portions.
  12. Version 0.8 is out!
