I'm generally accustomed to choosing close-range fist-fighting characters. When I was looking at what characters there were I was most interested in Tao and Tager because Tao looked all mysterious and stuff plus she was an animal person thing with giant paws. Later I found out she was a super aggro girl with dumb anime girl humor that was rarely funny so I scrapped that idea. (Although, I'll admit some of it I like...sandwich! Or when someone breaks her throw and she talks like she was the one who broke it.)
The only fighting games I had experience with prior to BlazBlue were Smash Bros. games so I was like: hey...Tager looks and plays kind of like Donkey Kong. The whole "avoid the rape" and recognize openings while charging my electro meter (Giant Punch) was pretty familiar to me and I was pretty decent at fishing for throws or situations where I could land a strong move. Avoiding/bashing through projectiles was pretty natural for me too. Then I checked out his story and he was all gentleman like and stuff so I found my guy. Trying to learn combos was a pain for me though. Luckily Tager's combos are easy to learn.
I started to be interested in Litchi because she was hawt and I thought her playstyle was really fun looking. I still suck with her though.
