blood kain is a fun move to putz around with i would suggest checking the combo thread for BK combos, you can ask your above question in the "General Ragna discussion" thread, or just check the ragna 101 info thread. i use my BKs like empty jump ins. i don't do it often, but when i do it's out of the blue, and my opponent is surprised momentarily, and i take advantage (i.e. empty otoshi's with Sakura in SSFIV) HOPE THIS HELPED!

i've said before hazama is unique, not bad, i'm not saying that. he's just very different and if you've been playing fighters for a long time, you need to think differently. i would agree that hazama has to be more defense oriented, but if you zone properly i think you'll be good.

i agree. it would take some pretty damn good yomi otherwise. or if you're just VERY predictable p.s. thanks for the match up info Beast!

like i've said before i'm totally rushdown oriented, be it in Fighters, CCGs, whatever. but when i FIRST start a fighter a i bounce around the board ALOT. with vanilla IV my first character was.. Chun Li (i laugh at my stupidity now) now i main sagat and sub Ryu/Ken. but i went through damn near the whole cast before i found them. i go with who "feels" right to me, and if it happens to be a cool bad ass character, then that's a bonus too!

ROFL.

I'm pretty sure you can link two after a Fatal Counter, don't quote me on it though...(maybe it's a guard crush?)

wow u guys weren't kidding u get these questions ALOT >< once again pick a character YOU feel most comfortable with, don't pay attention to tiers, or what not IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU. Saying that Hazama is a pretty "unique" character EVEN among fighters, i can give you the "Ryu" advice. Play a basic character (in BB: Ragna, in SF: Ryu) learn him for awhile until you are competent. once you know HIM it will be easier to grasp OTHER characters, because you will have a more solid foundation. Hope this helps!

whenever i see these types of arguments i always think, when these games are played well, the way they are supposed to be, you push your opponent, he pushes you back, it's tense and clutch and all that good stuff: that is where the true beauty in these games lie.

LOL, i got confused because mario from smash IS that kind of character

lol, always helps to have a rival, no? (Gary/Ash )

i had the SAME EXACT problem Zeromus_X helped me out, like he said delay the additional attack after the Gaunlet Hades then link the 5B when you land

wow a smash reference It's best to stick away from high learning curve characters like Litchi and C.Viper when you're first starting out, it just ends up stunting your growth.

YAY! IT'S 3S ALL OVER AGAIN! ><

Very helpful article, i was suprised to learn that half the terms i already know, they're just in japanese "Tachi...wha? You mean Footsies?"

Knockdown is ALWAYS best. Alot of games with high level players start with footsies trying to score the first knockdown. it's also essential for characters like Akuma/Ibuki who rely on the "Vortex" strategy w/ untechable knockdowns. In the rights hands it's downright deadly. @4r5 are you referring to an empty jump in? those are mostly used to psyche oppoents out (Sakura's Otoshi (DP+K) w/ no input) VERY HIGH RISK, but can lead to a very high reward.

I LOVE Dudders in 3S and SSFIV ( i think he made the best transition of the 3 3S members). So if Makoto is like that, i'll definitely be interested, does she have INSANE hit confirms too? I always pick a rushdown character in fighters, i just don't have the turtle mentality/skills. I also like the "beginner" characters (characters that are good for begginers to pick up, the easy to learn, hard to master type) It's why i love Ryu and why i picked Ragna as well.

Hmmm, not sure but i know in alot of games SOMETIMES the game will move you in the right direction itself. (i.e. Zangief's Super/Ultra I in SSFIV) But even then it only does it SOMETIMES. I'm not sure in BB. So basically i've said nothing...

True. The fastest game (i think) hands down is MvC2 although Melty Blood looks like it's on Meth The "canon" SF games (SFII, SFIII:3S, and SFIV) are normally slower than most fighters, it's part of their beauty i think. It's also why the Japanese are so F***ing good at them, they just weren't able to wrap their heads around a game like MvC2.

Footsies is VERY important in SF (and most fighters granted) it's a chess battle played before the first blow is landed and is Beautiful is done correctly. I LOVED the Trials in (S)SFIV (i missed the time trials/survival modes in Super tho, am i alone on this?) The great thing about BBCS is that Tutorial is ACTUALLY HELPFUL. in most games the tutorials are absolute crap and teach you nothing (DBZ games anyone?) i actually learned some things in CS' tutorials, plus i LOVE that Rachel insults you the whole time I'm working on Ragna and Noel's Challenges now, i love that CS has so much replayability, SSFIV doesn't have much w/out online... @Zeromus_X thanks for the combo advice, did it right off the bat when i got home
