Thanks to everyone who came out for the Cookeville fight night. We will be doing it every week and hopefully have some more setups. I won't be working wednesdays any more so that should make it easier. Still deciding on Robo or Zappa. Basically it's easier versus quirkier and maybe more fun.

I'll bring my PS3 with gear on it. Trying to learn Robo-Ky so that would be awesome to get some pointers or what not from you. You been playing any Chandler?

We will have TVs and 360 should be fine. I would say get there around 7 or so for today. We will have to work out aimed kinks but it should be all good

Hey gais, haven't posted here in forever. Just picked up Gear and totally day one at it. Thinking about Robo-Ky, Pot, or May. Any suggestions or any chance of getting with Cookeville people for some pointers? Also there will be a fight night this wednesday night. 11/16, and Wednesdays from here on at the new card shop next to panda garden off of Willow. If anyone is interested it is 3 dollars entry we'd love to see you. If you have a game you like try to bring a setup and if you can't at least a game and we'll see what we can do.

What irks me is the amount of people that go to those tournaments that know how to and can play the game but don't. I can't play Persona and don't really like it a ton but I enter nearly every Persona tourney thrown around here because I want to support all of the scenes around here. It just really irks me that people can't show KoF any love to the point that both Milln and Jason have talked about dropping it. Just really fucking annoying.

I know I didn't play you guys much but GGs to everyone that I did play against. Need to play P4 more but I love KoF and the guys I get play with the most around here play Marvel a lot.

Just gonna throw in my two cents. Now a few of you guys may not realize it but this is the first game where I actually haven't played the grappler and this idea floating around that grapples try to use their throws when they think the opponent is just blocking is a very basic misguided view. Gief in sf4 and Clark/daimon both use theirs as fast paced mixups, more on the latter. It is actually very very normal for a grappler to have a fast grab and nasty mixups on wake up. Honestly the best way to deal with a grappler, especially like kanji with his slow shitty normals, is to use either zone him out CORRECTLY or to just dog him with pressure and fluster the player. Characters like aki tend to have a hard time doing this while characters like mitsuru with her long range pokes can do it, honestly it's just a matter of really really understanding your characters and the grapplers limits. Tl:Dr I truly believe many of you guys need to just give it some time and learn it more. Just ask milln and some of the other kof guys. My daimon was a monster for a couple of months til people realized things about him and he is very similar to kanji.

GGs Star Man I don't have even the slightest clue of how to against Mit with Ted. Not sure if I need to sit back more or what. It just feels like you are always able to outpoke me.

GGs Woz. I have no idea what to do against you. Feel like it's just a difference in the understanding of the game though. Couple things, first off what is your notation for smp loop, second how on earth does Naoto's insta kill work, no idea how that hit me.

The thing is I know that you can be good with her, that's not an issue. I'm not used to that type of character though, in both SF and KOF I don't really play low damage characters so it's a bit of a transition. Also there is Teddie. Teddie was one of the two characters, Kanji being the other, that I wanted to play really badly before the game even came out just based on their characters and how much I like them. While I love Teddie as a character and he is fun to play as I deffinetly have more fun with Yukiko when it doesn't feel like I'm getting just hounded in the matchup. Characters like Mitsuru, who can punish and persona break me easily on things that the others can't because of her reach on her normals, and Elizabeth, who zones just as well but does way more damage, make me rage more than I have ever raged in a game lol. I really need to play people more online though is part of it. More variety and experience from the variety could make it more fun in the end. Still REALLY love playing as Teddie though, not sure who I would play in the next tournament, Teddie is easier so I'm sure that's part of the likability lol.
