So we've got a discord (just like everyone else I know lol!) with a pretty active player base, and we do biweekly tournies if anyone is interested in playing. Come say hey! https://discord.gg/UbQQ3fm

SamSho2 gets a lot of love and it's a good game but imo 5sp is the crown Jewel of the series, at least from a competitive standpoint. I've been playing this one a lot this year and now that the PS4/Vita version is out, it's getting a bit more attention than it has which is nice. If anyone is up for playing on fightcade or anything, let me know. Other than GG this is probably my favorite fighting game. I'm happy to train beginners too!

I'm trying to run the game on my laptop which has the following specs: i5-3210 @ 2.5 GHz 6GB/ram Windows 7 64bit I've messed around with the settings and can't seem to get the game to run above 45 fps in battle even at a smaller resolution. Is there something else I can tweak that might help me get closer to 60fps? I can run several other games on high settings and from the look of the minimum requirements, I should in theory be able to run this one well too, but that hasn't been the case so far. What are you guys modifying in the .ini or config files that's helping to bump up the framerate? Thanks in advance. After playing the PS3 version this game is gorgeous on the PC.

PS3 vs PS4 GGXrd Graphics/Sound Quality Comparison?
DoctaMario replied to HGhaleon's topic in Guilty Gear General
I'm just grateful there IS a PS3 version as someone who's pretty much done with console gaming after this gen (I only have a PS3 because someone gave it to me.) I'm holding out for a PC port (would probably be the best version if it happens) but if not, I'm satisfied for now with the PS3 version. -

I actually play quite a bit of King Of Fighters on iPhone. xD Got this on my calendar, so hopefully my schedule doesn't go to shit and I can attend. That way you guys can at least have a few laughs watching me play GG. If I can't win, I might as well entertain. xD -

How late are y'all gonna be at Kaos tonight? I have a gig tonight, but if I get done in time, maybe I'll stop down. -

Indeed, but you guys are making me want to dig out my copy of Warcraft 3 and play some DoTA. Probably the game I loved the most that I was the worst at. xD -

Bleh. And here I thought getting a PS3 would finally put an end to the possibility of having to dual mod my HRAP3. >_< You guys and your 'murrican game systems. xD EDIT: So unless i have to drive to Macon GA Tuesday to pick up my car, I'll be at Game Galaxy. Anyone else planning on being there? -

I noticed that Kaos Theory uses Xboxes for a lot of their setups. If PS3 is generally the tourney standard, why is 360 so prevalent? I know how you feel. I honestly don't have as much time to play as I'd like so I can't work on things like I'd like to. But I try to make sure my fundamentals are on point because those carry over to almost any game and I've been trying to get better at being good in the clutch towards the end. It's just a game. As long as you're losing to people you can call friends, you're in better shape than the average online player who has no idea who's on the other end of the pipe. Hahahahahahahaaha! xD -
Hahah, love the avatar Noisetank! xD PSN: TheDoctaMario Mainly a Ky player right now, but I'm looking to pick up I-no, Testament, Chipp, or maybe Zappa. I've never actually played the game against someone who actually WANTED to play haha, so I'm looking forward to playing people who actually play the game. I don't get why people make imposter accounts. It's not like anyone's going to REALLY believe that they're the person they made the account after, especially once they start scrubbing it up. And it's pretty much ALWAYS some scrub making an imposter account of a really good player. xP

Hahaha! I'llk probably dust off those other characters I mentioned. As fun as Ky is, I'd really like to get a little deeper into the game than just him. He seems to have a lot of leeway in terms of how he's played though, which can be nice. Somebody Photoshop a hat to that pic. xD -

Sweet. Week after next my schedule clears up a bit so I'll have time to get out there then! I'm kinda with you. I've been a Ky player mainly but also messed around with Chipp, Testament, & I-no and I've been thinking about picking one of those three back up. Choices choices... But when I come down to GG or Kaos I'll have to keep that pic in mind so I know who to look out for. xD -
Lets do something about the GGXXAC Netplay!
DoctaMario replied to ProblemSkater's topic in Guilty Gear General
I think the good thing about this being an Arc Sys game is that they likely will listen to the community. People bitch about KoFXIII's netcode but it's pretty clear that SNKP have no intention of fixing it. -

Ah okay. That cab always ate my change anyway when I'd go to Game Galaxy in the mall. I think the guy working there used to get pissed cuz I'd always have to ask him to help me get the 75 cents (!!) out of the machine. xD Cool cool. Guess I'll have to hit up my PS2/PSP copies of GG and practice there. I'll hit you up when I plan on coming out to one of the events. -

Awesome. Does Game Galaxy still have that Guilty Gear machine? Its been ages since Ive been there. Tuesdays are probably better for me at least for the next couple weeks, though I know I have to get together with someone this coming Tuesday and may not be done with that in time. After that first weekend in November I'll be able to come out more, and hopefully GG will have dropped on PSN so I can practice with my stick. Do you guys have other games that are staples of these nights as well as GG? EDIT: Wow, those pics of Kaos look pretty awesome! How long has that place been open? They have something like that in Franklin too, although I think it's more of a store. -

Do you guys have regular nights that you're down there? I'm a musician so my schedule is kind of up in the air, but if I know which nights y'all will be there, I can avoid scheduling things for those times so I can come out. I've been wanting to get in on some of this stuff for awhile now, but haven't really had the time until recently. Maybe you and I will have to have some casuals in GG sometime. I got into the game a little over a year ago, but have never played against anyone else who actually WANTED to play. -

GAH! I'm excited that GG is finally coming out! I need to start coming to Kaos Theory. I really wanna level up my GG/KoFXIII game. -
Back on topic: Do we have any kind of timeline for GGXXAC coming out or is it all still up in the air? (i.e. how many months to I have do practice so I don't get absolutely stomped online? )

I see what you're getting at, but I'm talking more about moves being intact and everything hitting like it should moreso than any lag being present. I had lagless games against people with yellow and even orange pings. I do agree that the game being more accessible now is a good thing though. But ARC's netcode is some of the best on the market these days, so I have faith that GGXXAC's will be excellent (at least I hope it will be. Lag would kill a game like GG moreso than it would SF.)
-
No. The REAL Third Strike players didn't want a rebalance, it was the SF4 players who were going to play the game for 3 weeks then drop it who wanted a rebalance. GGAC doesn't need a rebalance either. If you rebalance it, then it's not the same game anyway. The glitches were the only legit complaint. 3SO is the closest thing to the arcade game that has ever been seen on a home system, and if you don't think so, then you've probably never played the game on a cab (which I do semi-regularly.) The GGPO complaints were from people who didn't know how to set it up properly/had budget (read: shitty) connections or didn't know how to read the pings. Short of delivering a 3s cab to every player's house, I don't know how much more Capcom could have done to please these people, and this is coming from a Third Strike player. Buuuuut back on topic: this is amazing news! I'd been holding out on buying a console until either a new GG or GGAC with netcode was brought out. Looks like I"m gonna have to save my pennies! It'll be good to finally play against someone who actually WANTS to play the game (rather than roping my bro into playing it with me) and this'll be a good excuse to finally get serious about GG.

I really need to make it out to one of these MTNG things. I wanted to come out to one of the ones in June but every time I plan to go, something comes up career-wise. :P Do any of y'all ever play GG at Game Galaxy? That Accent Core machine always looks so lonely when I go there. -
One of the things that everyone seems to say about the GG scene is that it needs some revitalization. I think one of the best ways to do that would be to make a Guilty Gear Anthology for PS3 and 360. Not only would it make GG playable on recent systems, but it could serve as a sort of historical benchmark to show where the series has been. Maybe it could include every GG game up until Accent Core (excluding Overture and maaaybe Isuka, but Isuka could be a lot of fun if they fixed the Turn button shenenigans.) like GG1 and GGX. The more controversial (as I see it anyway) of these ideas is the idea for an iPhone Guilty Gear. Why iPhone? Well, for one, think of all the people who have iDevices. It could increase the number of people who possibly buy the game by a lot. It could also be a testing ground. They used the iPhone version of that game RAGE as a way to test certain aspects of the game before it made it to bigger systems. ArcSys could use it to test new mechanics and see how they work, in game with real people playing it before they commit said mechanics to a larger game. Sure it would have to be paired down a bit to be playable, but I think if they DO make a new GG, it's going to get paired down a bit anyway. There's no way we'll have Accent Core Part 2. Graphically the game could look incredible (look at KOF-i's hand drawn graphics!) and that alone would probably sell it if it were put out at a reasonable price. They could update it and add more characters like Capcom does with iSF4. SF4 Volt has also shown that good netplay for a fighter on an iDevice is a possibility so it could be the first GG (non PC anyway) to have real netplay. It would a low risk/cost way for a lot more people to get into the game, get familiar with the mechanics of it, and if/when it DOES finally come to the home consoles, they'll be more likely to pick it up. I know something like this is probably a few years off, but I think if ArcSys really played their cards right, the GG scene could be healthy once again (outside of Japan that is).

Excellent! Thanks fellas!
