  1. Does anyone have a copy of that old picture of Sol in a suit? "You too can own your very own DODGE VIY-PAH!"
  2. Does anyone have tips on distance for grabbing? I've always had troubles with grabbing in 2d fighters, and it really really hurts my Johnny game.
  3. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117 Yep.
  4. I see "dj," "AD," and "AA" in Johnny's combos. Can anyone define these?
  5. By the way, when I said 6S, I meant 2H.
  6. Thanks GB - I already knew about the whole stick/game pad brand confusion thing, but at least I know what to buy. The problem is I can't even 'shoryuken' (623) effectively, because if I put pressure on the stick it reads it as a different direction. So, yeah, ordering a new stick soon. EDIT: I've heard this was a good stick. Confirm?
  7. Hm. While I'm getting pretty hard into fighting games, I don't think I want to order a HRAP only to have to mod it - that's alot of money. I can toss my 20$ stick, that's what it's there fore. Are Sanwa sticks okay? Are there less expensive Sanwa sticks than the HRAP? EDIT - I have the Pelican Universal Arcade Stick - the spring in it fucking sucks alright. I opened it up today. Requires soldering, so I think I might just order a HRAP or similar.
  8. The stick overall is shitty enough, but it's enough to get me into practicing. And I'm not very comfortable with modding my own arcade stick. Is it a cakewalk? EDIT: And, um, a link to where I could order it, if need be?
  9. Wow, that info on FD airblock is going to allow me to shred Paul next time I play him.
  10. I just got an arcade stick - it was a bargain buy from Amazon.com. I've had two troubles with it so far. First being that whenever the stick is pushed down, it defaults to going a direction, so I have to avoid pushing down on it or it'll fuck up my combo. Is this normal for arcade sticks, or was that because I only paid 20 bucks for it? The second is that my Volcanic Vipers, Divine Blades, and Heat Knuckle are all much slower than they used to be. With the pad, I could mash into it, and it made my reaction time lightning-fast. Now with a stick the movement itself takes longer to do. It's a real bitch trying to learn Sol again without instant VVs, and pulling off 2H-Heatknuckle Extend. Is this just a normal stick thing, or will I get faster with practice?
  11. That does help alot. Does anyone know how to easily punish air comboing with Venom's rushing poolstick twirl? I keep recovering after a 6S/6P (I think, not sure which.) and he just chains me with it, for some reason I can't block properly.
  12. The player I'm fighting isn't very good with Venom...mostly he just knows Dark Angel and beatdown rush. He manages to top me often, though. But usually he's so busy with Venom's poolstick-twirl (can't remember the name) that I can Mawarikomi and Tatami-launch him. The Claw works when I use it, but I know anyone with any more skill with Venom can punish me for it.
  13. My best guess would be try and stay close to him. Use claw if you need to, and a couple running blocks never hurt too badly. I have this problem too, especially when he throws out Dark Angel. Usually if you're in the middle of it you can sidestep it (214K on block) and punish Venom for being a prat. He's a tough fight, however, because he'll just Ky it out and keep you at a distance.
