just watched all the matches, good stuff there were some downright scary kanaes here, a lot of 2A-6C-2A-6C strings that fritz turtled and poked his way to victory :x i told people his 236B to throw on wakeup was stupidly good :/ seems like the only akatsuki player wasn't that good the really good elektrosoldats got owned by mycale / kanae, although, some good elektrosoldat corner juggles can someone cap the matches for youtube?

hence my point, she doesnt have to fear his projectile / zoning game the way most characters do aya, nothing i can really do but apologize, i am sorry it came out that way, i was in a bad mindstate ( everclear'll do that to you ). if it makes you feel better i'll MM your Soldat vs my Marilyn @ Evo East, first to seven for 50 ( and i don't even LIKE money matches ). free money for you since the matchup belongs to him, right? that and i suck ^_^

so yeah, i'm not dead sorry aya, i didnt mean to sound like a dick on aim but i really did have to go do something, everclear and me do not mix at all ;_; funny you mention chipp, isn't he B tier in AC? fritz isn't hard to hit people with at all. just have to condition people to expect him to do one teleport and then do another, and know the spacing of his pokes. fritz can time command dash to place himself instantaneously behind you on the first vulnerable frame of your wakeup for a throw, a cr.Ax3 xx A+B+C, or he can let you try and DP him for being there, do nothing but guard it and then punish you for 3k for it. on marilyn vs soldat: it's not like it's that hard for her to get in on him, she has super armour 214 stun palm or fakeout, parry, and good mixup. soldat only has but so many ways to respond to her. the fact that as a character he's naturally most effective while charging makes him vulnerable simply because the marilyn player is going to already know that he's going to be forced to block at certain times to keep his charge. that's when they can go for a blockstring -> throw mixup. the yomi levels are naturally in her favor, thus IMO she has advantage, at least at the start of a round. of course she has to work harder, but if she's unpredictable, which all i'm saying is that marilyn is really good at, she can keep the match in her favor. of course if you want everyone to just spontaneously agree with you and not make their own decisions about who they want to play as, you wanna somehow establish "official tiers", or whatever, then that's cool, i really don't care about being at the head of the scene for this game or whatever you're trying to do by asking for tier thoughts then ripping them up , i'm just saying don't underestimate those three characters' potential.

my tier list with explanations S: akatsuki, fritz, marilyn i give you your ken, yun and chun ladies and gentlemen. akatsuki is basically ken in 3s, needing very little explanation. gets meter easily, has messed up 50/50 games that lead to corner loops that hurt badly, very safe. fritz has broken teleports and samurai spirits pokes with insane priority, and invincible dashes mean he can always get away clean. also dont neglect his air game, mixing up between jump B and jump insta-teleport ( Toki much? ) is too good. marilyn is basically insane right now, 236A fakeout to throw is really stupidly good, a dp hitbox that hits from behind is stupidly good, a bnb that puts you in the corner for free where you have to guess off her stupidly good mixup and cant just mindlessly parry lest you get fucked up....she's just stupidly good. ( ehem ) A: mycale e-soldat these two have the best runaway next to fritz in my opinion. mycale's "gugumiru!" spike super is really hard to parry on reaction and her ability to knockdown and charge 22+B for overhead on release is nothing to sneeze at, plus she has yun + yang divekick game. :D soldat is, well, guile, which obviously means he can be offense or defense and he's way too safe. i think he actually might end up a little better than his current ranking seeing as how he's almost akatsuki-level good, he just needs to follow ABC ( Always Be Charging ) law. B: murakumo, wei murakumo has a really silly teleport game involving setting mines and dash teleporting or jump 2C crossup B to force them towards it. 2B xx [2]8B is really good, his stand or crouch C has good 50/50 priority but gets stuffed by anyone above B tier. he'd be really good if it werent so impossible for him to get close to anyone better than him. ( cough cough FRITZ ) wei's shoulder charge game is somewhat reminiscent of urien, and knocking down into a 22+A charge seems pretty useful. his problems revolve around the fact that despite a good frametrap he has very predictable normals which lead to parry xx punishment. C: anonym sai kanae anonym would have the best runaway in the game ( CABLE ) if she had unlimited ammo. as i see it, there isn't a discernable pattern of shots you can do that can keep someone at bay without eventually getting punished for it. her slide should also be cancellable, that would make it at least safe. she also seems to have problems getting damage. she does get kudos for having the best character design in the game though. :p sai's hypnosis would make him at least A tier if he had a way of consistently setting it up so that it was for free / unblockable / unavoidable and if he had the same priority on his normals that he had circa Akatsuki Shisei Ichigou ( the first game ). as is, he's been toned down whereas it seems he has to be very, very tricky to land anything on anyone good, and keepaway soldat + mycale tactics own him with almost little effort. kanae has a good frametrap, some really good normals ( why is her 6C Chun's back and Fierce!? ) but she's really slow and requires a lot of dedication to win with. you pretty much have to parry your way out of EVERYTHING ( or play Potemkin.....hi, Gwyrgyn! ) D: blitztank not much i can say although blitzie's 22+B is pretty good, not much else. he's like a giant Mecha-Twelve or something. :P

random stuff from memory since i just got around to reading this thread: semi jotaro inf-loop ( pushblockable ): short jump H, dash buffer 5L,5L,6M, 214L, repeat xN dio brando's semi inf-loop looks similar ( also pushblockable ) short jump M, dash buffer 2L,2L,5H,214M, repeatxN then for both of their tandem attack setups i usually leave off the 214 hit ( where each one's respective Stand would do the burn knuckle-looking punch ) and do 214Stand, then tap: L,L,M,214M,L,L,M,214M,L,L,214M,214M,623M for Jotaro leave off the 623M for Dio and just do 236M or 214M and try and dash or roll past with cr.L which will let you continue his sequence usually this gives Jotaro insane high low mixup on block because he can short jump overhead, command mid-normal low, crouching low hit, or wait for the Star Finger at the end to potentially give him short jump H to repeat the whole sequence. black polnareff has a similar frametrap with only one escapable part which makes it a semi-inf but you get about 3 frames to jump out: short jump H xx Stand ( the dive slash ), land, dash in with L,L,M ( they can get out of the M but alternatively you can use cr.H for counterhit if the M doesn't counterhit, which considering they'll have to come out of blockstun and either jump out and make themselves vulnerable to getting supered or worse or hit you with something that'll beat you on startup frames isn't very likely, especially in the corner ) then 236M, 236M, 236Stand, short jump H, standing M, 236M, 236M, 236Stand, repeat i'll post more later most likely because i like this game so much :o

yeah, i agree, they really made the biggest balancing effort i think which is visible with Akatsuki as a character. they made it so he can't just do random j.B loops anymore because you can't do two j.B's in one jump, rather you can do j.A>j.B which is still pretty good but a lot more unsafe and punishable...he used to basically be Sol or 3S Ken level insane where he always had super stocks because he never had to fear being countered with his insane j.B spam and 6B counterhit potential.....now it seems like damage proration has really toned him down, although he is still really good... for instance he can do stuff like: 2A 2A 2A 5B 6C, j.A>j.B (land) rej.A>j.B xx 214C ( or near corners, 22C while they're falling, super canceled into 22B+C if you have meter.....or into A+B+C super if you have full meter, good damage ) this leaves them in or near the corner, where you can start zoning with his big ass Urien-like fireball and tech trap with 6B ( and maybe go for 2B>6C followup ), come in with a tick throw, or on wakeup do a quick hop into 2C ( the dive punch ) and combo off of it this game does 3S soooo much better than 3S does -_-;

doesn't look like it's quite done yet, all the site has is new screenshots the official name of the sequel is "Akatsuki Blitzkampf" looks like there's two new characters being worked on, one of which is a nun (!?!?) and a gangster type dude who kind of looks like Seth from KOF looking forward to whenever this is done, the full version with Akatsuki, Marilyn, E-Soldat, Sai, Fritz, Mycale, Kanae and whoever else will be thoroughly awesome, probably even tourney worthy someday

Chipp counters Ky in Slash! It's official <3 check this out, Guilty Gear Gigs the 2nd, i think this was at Club Sega or Sega Gigo, not sure which, but watch the 1st and 2nd sets of the finals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvCVupZg8sM - 1st set http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmHxs-A_Klk&NR - 2nd set i know recently many chipp players have been getting frustrated but remember he's B tier and he has the weapons to counter a lot of tactics, and these vids of Japan's top players prove it. i was thinking of dropping chipp for bridget and faust as mains but then i saw these, and they totally opened my eyes to everything i was doing wrong. check these out if you play chipp in Slash at ALL.
