  1. ggs to Blitz, Orrax, and Can fun as always. GGs to Hina-tan your faust is really good. it was a fun match up to play. i don't know the match up very well but i look forward to playing against you again. GGs to Drill your sol is unrefined but very scary i have little to no idea what you're going to do which is rare in a sol player and good at keeping me scared. sorry that our last game got cut off not sure what happend.
  2. good games to alt air dooder they were fun for me. sorry i took your points. your johnny is pretty good but you need to be able to do the damage with him and you need to mist cancel his normal more. johnny's tools aren't very good and it's best to force them to be better. you did a lot of coin canceling in places that mist canceling would be better. for example you canceled a lot of normals into coin right after i blocked them, the game's autoblock did it for me and there was no way that you could have gone up a mist finder level with it. i think that was a lag oriented tactic since hit confirming is fairly hard online but IMO it's a bad habit that you should work on. that above all else will improve your johnny play. your basic understanding of the character is good and your play is thought out a decent bit. the hard part of getting good at fighting games is over it's just some mechanical things to be worked on now. GG to kawayol i know i was being trolled for free but i did learn a good bit the slayer taunts and respects helped thank you:psyduck: it was really weird playing at about 20 frames per second and that messed up my a huge part of my already pour on keyboard execution. i really hope we get a chance to play AC together because i actually can play my main in that game. in any case you helped me slow down online which is something that i forget to do when playing under lag. i appreciate it. GGs to The Potemkin, you're really good and it's a good challenge for me. GGs to everyone else i played recently sorry i cannot remember who all it was. it's nice to play again. sorry for writing so much:psyduck:
  3. GG's to Orrax, Bywall, Blitz and anyone else i played against recently Bywall you seem to be getting more used to stick now, keep it up. your pot also is getting much better.
  4. GGs to Afterburner, sorry i'm playing on keyboard and could not give you a vary even match but it was fun. =D your sol got better over our 10-15 games, at least against zappa if you keep playing him you'll have him learnt in no time.
  5. there are a lot of these threads...i'm a little bit tired of seeing them and i don't come here that often but i have ghosted for a long time off and on depending on wither i needed to research something or not. really i don't see a huge point in these topics; if they make a new guilty gear and it's good: great; if they don't oh well GGXXAC is the best fighting game made to date i have no problem continuing to play it. GG isn't dead people still play it, wither a new one is coming out or not people will still play it. there is still a scene for SF2 which is a really old game now, but never the less people play it because they like it. a lot of people still play #R at any given point in the day you'll find someone online to play with. there are still tournaments held for GGXXAC that a lot of the old pros still compete in. just because a new doesn't come out doesn't mean GG is dead. a new one 'might' come out leave it at that. as for the discussion on catering to certain audiences great discussion with good points i wish every one could be so reasonable. i just have one notion to add to that that's a little off topic. catering to casuals also invites a gateway to the hard core scene. let's face it if you only go up against players who are already so good at fighting games that you cannot even tell why their beating you, getting into one of the harder games is basically impossible. A friend of mine started playing guilty gear against Latiff and Pozerwolf and some of the other top dogs in the Texas scene and it took him years to get remotely good because they were so much better than him. it's not a lack of competence he's a smart fellow and figures things out really quickly. it was just a little bit too hard a feat. so starting on a game that's less hard core to get you good enough at fighting games to learn the harder games. now i used a crutch game to get into guilty gear. i started playing guilty gear a year ago and i was playing against some really strong players and it was just a little to hard for my taste and i quit for BBCS. which i learned sort of well and that stepping stone allowed me to have enough fundamental understanding to pick up guilty gear. so i do support the production of simpler games along side more hard core to promote the hard core games. so the point of my personal ramblings is that the hard core market is increased with an increase in the market of casual games. Sorry for rambling a little bit much but i wanted to so deal with it.
  6. GG to The potemkin, i wish i could have been playing on pad so all my inputs could keep up with yours, i'm not so great on key board but even on pad i would probably have lost the majority anyway. thank you for playing about 10 matches with me, the po v po match up is my potemkin's worst match up bar none and i don't have the AC tricks i know and love to hide behind in reload. i learned sort of what i was doing wrong and some new tick throw set ups that are pretty awesome. so thank you i'll be sure to work it in when playing against jan. i'm glad there is a really good potemkin to learn from because in my circle of friends i'm the only half wit potemkin to play against. sorry if i bored you loseing almost every round but it was fun for me. so thank you:) P.S sorry for the long post that was overly personal but i'm not sure where the IRC is for the Reload online stuff so i cannot talk to him personally. bit of a noob to the whole online reload stuff actually before like a week ago i had never played reload.
  7. i slightly disagree with that. if there is an important match on the line by all means play it safe. however, if it is just some casual matches with friends or net play or something like that, i say try for the hardest combo in that situation under the notion that if you try it enough and find your self in that situation you'll eventually be able to do it. but that is really just my opinion. when learning new things particularly new competitive games i follow the idea that if it's a good idea to try for it even if it costs you the match try for it. now returning to the topic at hand. Sw loops are really hard and especially if you just go straight into side winder with out any normals to help string it(not sure if that's the right term but i think it makes sense). try playing around with jumping up and doing either D S or HS and play around with the timings on those. it normally makes it quite a bit easier, it does a little bit less damage but requires less practice. also if your really stubborn about wanting the straight SW when playing against a character you've not played much against pay close attention to where the "sweet spot" is. that is the clean hit zone on the character, normally the mid to high chest on most characters. and after you have a pretty good idea where the sweet spot is you can adjust your timing easier by looking for where your SW hit them. if it hit their feet then you just need to do it later and try to hit it later. this method of practicing SW loops on odd characters is what worked for me and is worth giving a try:keke: also as a note Sidewinder is very much by feel and visual ques much more than any other combo that i know of. you cannot do it blind like other characters combos so it's not so much a very precise timing it changes depending on each characters weight and hit box and distance from the wall and a bunch of other small things so use your eyes to guesstimate where the right time is. i'm sorry for any thing that may have confused you and i probably won't remember to check back very soon because i don't read this forum all that often so it might be a bit before i respond.
  8. i know this is a little necro but meh. you should also watch out for 6p because it goes through greed sever and all of your projectiles if timed right making slayer harder to zone. personally the match feels like a 5.5 -4.5 slayer's favor because his damage is so much better but it's not that bad of a match up. however i'm not a very good ky player it could just be i am being out played by the slayer i normally play against.

    BnB combos GGXXAC

that is very useful thank you, i've found the most useful thing is the 6P>6H>28S loop it pulls good damage and landing ch or a throw is not so hard, and it has been my main damaging combo. i have been messing around with S©>c.HS it seems like a very useful launcher but i have so far not found much i can do with it. again thank you all for the information it has been helping a lot.

    BnB combos GGXXAC

Thanks i'll work with that and that should be enough of a foot hold to get started thanks a bunch. does that combo only work in the corner or can it work anywhere with an extra linking move? also the 6HS is what was in my combo above in place of just HS I just notated it wrong. again thanks a bunch

    BnB combos GGXXAC

I am a huge noob to Venom and have little idea what his bread and butter combo(s) even look like. I have not found any videos or topics that have the notation for combos. I have mainly been using Throw>6P>HS>CRS(it might be the HS version it's the slower one)>some random hit and that seems to feel like a bread and butterish combo or at least the ideas in it do. I would appreciate some combo help. though watching some Venom players it also seems that Venom does not really have a BnB but just a huge assortment of what he can do and he is free to choose what to do, but I am very unsure. the character is easily the koolest character by concept IMO and I would love to learn him. Thank you for your time,
