  1. Who would you suggest?
  2. My experience, to which I can form no conclusion. I played a friend. I'm in Canada, they were in Finland. I own a PS4, NA digital copy of GGXrd. He owned a PS3, HK digital copy of GGXrd. In a lobby I hosted, I kept a solid 2-3F and he had a constant 12F. He as affected by the 12F, whereas I felt like I could respond to anything on time; however, my inputs were somewhat messed up even though I felt like I honestly had a 2F connection. He most definitely couldn't do anything and his 12F connection was real. We chalked it up to the distance between us, but that would mean I should have been lagging heavily as well... which I was not suffering from. Take from this what you will. I feel like it's just something ASW has to fix.
  3. I don't want to clutter up the combo thread, but thank you very much for this. I tried a Google Translate after having to convert the text used in the initial video's link, and it was an absolute mess to behold that gave me a bigger headache than I could have imagined. This is so very much appreciated.
  4. Any chance at this being transcribed in English, at least notation-wise?
  5. XBL: StrangeMelody GMT: EST (GMT-5) Location: Ontario, Canada
  6. What's the best tool for IADing toward an opponent/winning an air battle? I'm finding j.C seems to not hit when I need it too, and j.A just seems too short with no priority. When I use j.B, I often trade with the opponent (better than nothing), but it still feels like it's the wrong one.
  7. Anyone have any hints on timing 6A (one-hit) jc. 3D(hit, B), 5B into drive loop? I'm probably not writing it properly, but essentially you hit the player once with 6A, jump-canceling and doing a 3D that hits and goes through (via B), then smacking them with a 5B and going from there. The timing on both when to 3D and when to hit B to go through is touchy as hell and ANY hints would be appreciated, otherwise I'll just stick to hard practicing.
  8. Like I said, I'm well aware of how FRCs work (although I suppose I did leave out I know how to figure them out as well). I'm just trying to find the most effective way of relearning FRC points. Venom's H Stinger Aim FRC from #R has been drilled into my head, and so the slight delay is becoming annoying to get used to, even with that blue flash I still get mixed up and try to do what I'm used to. So far the best method, or at least more agreed upon method, is timing. Sound isn't helpful at all, and I agree. I know in 3S you can use sounds to know when to do certain moves (ie. Makoto's command grab, she yells as she puts the opponent down, allowing you to combo from there if your timing is decent enough), but with GG's voice sets that won't work. I guess it's just a matter of drilling the new FRC point into my skull.
  9. Not wanting to make a new topic with this, and just curious as to what folks think... When learning when to FRC, what does one usually try to base their execution on? Is it the timing you learn and just feel comfortable with? Do you watch for a specific action before hitting the button? What about sound? I ask this because I've just recently acquired Slash and have had an oddly difficult time pulling off Venom's new H Stinger Aim FRC point. It's hard for me to get out of the rhythm of when I used to attempt the FRC. Anyone think one is better than the other? Anyone have a different method? I'm not asking how to FRC, just what people watch for most. Relearning FRC points are surprisingly annoying, at least for Venom.
  10. For the IAD issue, work on just dashing smoothly first before you start working on the IAD transition. I say this because, for me at least, I originally was very awkward when I'd switch from holding the stick to trying to dash, which often left me in a scramble to maintain control of the stick again (ie. I'd release how I'd normally hold the stick to basically palm-slap the stick in the direction I'm dashing). Another problem I realized was I'd stop, or forget to, hold down the stick to dash. For example, when I'd FRC Venom's Stinger Aim, I'd double-tap but then forget to hold the stick and Venom would glide for a moment and fall short of continuing the combo. As for confusing punch with kick and all that, basically you need practice. That's all there is to it. You will soon adapt to your configuration and all will work out in the end -- until then, you'll just have to stick to training mode. For how to hold the stick (sanwa-wise), I hold the ball between my index finger and thumb (index on the left, thumb on the right, sort of just on the lower end of the ball) and have my middle finger cross beneath onto, well, the stick. It just gives me a bit of control and helps not only for dashing forward but backwards as well. For transitions in, say, execution... either with Third Strike or GG, try performing super arts/over drives. Since both are normally fluid 236236 moves, or in some cases 632146, they'll get you used to trying out commands and executing more efficiently. Non-supers work as well, for example, one thing that helped me eventually perform Slayer's bite loop (when it was around in #R) more effectively was playing Third Strike for a while and messing around with Makoto and her command grab. Can't help you much there, my stick configuration is... P S D K H R I know it's not the "official" configuration or what have you, but it works for me. Always takes me a few minutes to get used to the feel of GG if I've been playing 3S though, and vice versa. Hope some of this helped. EDIT: I almost forgot, about your wrist... try to make sure you're in a comfortable position when you play, because you shouldn't be getting a sore wrist if you do that. Try to angle it perhaps, but generally just make sure you are in a comfortable position with the arcade stick.
