Well, I filtered for stuff new in the last 7 days and found some CoD stuff and some 007 stuff (which indeed claim 11-13 as the drop date). Followed that up by searching for Guilty (which now doesn't even show the PSP version of the game anymore. And searching "GG" is impossible so it's not listed that way.) And followed THAT up with showing all PS3 games with a Fighting Game filter. Unless I'm just failing to use the miserable interface supplied by the new PSN, or it's for some reason hidden off in a dark shameful corner somewhere, it didn't drop this week.

PSN seems to have updated, and unless I'm mistaken there's still no Guilty Gear.

I've been playing on the PSP, quietly waiting for the PSN version. If it's not in there this week I give up waiting. I have a friend in Japan that will get me the cards at cost (he'll charge anybody else, don't bother asking.) I want to support the US release but this is getting ridiculous.

I'm hoping I can go to this for P4U and GG, it's the weekend before my sister's wedding though... I'll do my absolute best to be there, but I can't promise anything :<

I also plan on getting Guilty Gear, been playing on my PSP as that's the only place I've got it for now Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

No faster way to get better than joining a scene and playing. Says the person that repeatedly fails to get out to the scene.... Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

Subscribed in Tapatalk so I see every update, I'm just occupied lately with personal business. I'm still trying to get out to Game Pazzo one of these weekends but life keeps happening. I need someone to force me to keep a schedule. Then I could decline more of these obligations for since I "already have plans" Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

I'm enjoying P4U and intend to keep playing it for awhile. I'm not critically interested in BBCP yet, waiting to see the end product before I decide. While P4U's initial hype has died down, I'm not having any trouble finding people to play with either, but I'm not often looking and tend to play with a lot of the same people in most games. I've not had much to say, outside agreeing that mothers being ok is always good. Haven't played much lately, been busy and my usual sparring partner has been away. I should probably hit up the netplay to keep sharp though. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

I like the pacing better in P4U than BB or SG. I know BBCP is supposed to be working on the speed, but I'll have to see it in action before I make any judgement on that. SG was tons of fun at mid-level play, the game itself is great it just gets so tedious when the IPS is taken to the max. Stuff like Double ass-ist didn't help.

Join and play, get better with us. It's nothing but a good time, how can you resist :D

Never had the patience for Tekken, mad respect for people that do though. I might try to mash at it at a get together but I'm pretty unlikely to buy it/be serious about it.

Sorry, I live in a small town about an hour south of Chicago, right around where they want to put that new airport.

Hello! Trying to be less reclusive and less terrible at games so I'm going to try to get out to some gatherings. I live in the middle of cornfields with the closest public transit being 15 minutes drive away (one way) or I'd try my hand at hosting, I may still if people are interested enough to get here... I don't have Facebook or Twitter, though I've occasionally given some thought to becoming a twit. I have a G+ but nobody else does so it's kinda pointless.

Yeah, the different move properties will be the big one. I don't think adapting to the playstyle will be as troublesome.

[CS2-CSE] Carl Clover General Discussion - Shota Shorts Edition
Marisa replied to Rishtopher's topic in Archive
Been awhile since I've been here... Played Carl since CT but dropped the game entirely for CS2 because it just wasn't fun for me (what little I did play I mostly used Rachel, just did not like CS2 Carl). CSEX looks a lot better and Carl (and everyone else I've looked at) seems a lot more interesting and fun to play. I'll probably pick up the game soon, but I doubt it will over take Arcana as my main game, AH3 is just too much fun. -
Remember, there wasn't really a Beginner Mode in CT, just easy specials. Rhapsody of Memories, Deus Ex Machina, Cantable, and Vivace B were Carl's four specials, if I remember right.

Day 1 tier lists are common enough, but you have to assume that they're "first impressions" only. They're good as an indicator of who is easiest to play and get damage from simple combos. Once people start discovering the techs the day one tier lists are thrown out the window. Alternately they can be jokes intended to bunch up the collective panties of people that put faith in tier lists.

My dislike of CS2 Carl isn't helped by the fact that I picked up Carl mostly to play Nirvana and CS2 nerfed her meter so bad she became more filler than anything. Don't get me wrong, CS2 3]D[ is incredibly nice, but I never got the same high as I did with Carl's CS1 combos. Arcana Heart's Lieselotte plays differently but it has more of the dual aspect that I crave, so I've been playing that a lot more...

If BB is your first fighter, check out my post in the rather misspelled Beginner advice thread here. It's not the most exciting process, but it will make it much easier to play and win if you follow it. You don't have to IAD, any airdash will work. Airdash > j2C throw. You have to cancel the j2C within the first couple frames or your forward momentum is completely stopped. You want to do it very early in the airdash as well for maximum effectiveness. Do note that as of the current loketest, glides have been removed entirely and this ability may not be available in CS2Extend.

If all you want is to get video on your computer, an EasyCap is cheap. Not the greatest of quality but it gets the job done. And yeah, Carl forums tend to be dead. Low userbase and being an advanced character doesn't bode well for forum chatter.

The switch to stick isn't so bad, you just have be willing to put up with suddenly being a lot "worse" than you were for a little while. The first thing you should do is find a way to hold the stick that is both comfortable and effective. By effective, I mean you can hit every direction without an exceptional amount of additional effort. Your grip should also focus on using your whole arm for motions rather than just your fingers. There is no hard and fast rule for holding it, find something that works for you. After you find your grip, the next thing to work on is your execution. Start with simple stuff like super jumps, dashes, and command normals in simple combos (these can be a huge pain at first so it's really helpful to work on them). After you're comfortable with those, moving on to specials; quarter circles, half circles, and 360's are a good place to start as they're easy fluid motions on the stick. Once you've got those down, move to supers, 623's, and IAD's, these will likely be the biggest challenge to overcome, but once you've got these down you should be effectively fighting at pretty much the same levels (or possibly better) as you were. These first steps should only take a week or two if you practice often enough. You'll probably still be thinking about the stick operation though, that goes away with time. I've had my stick for almost a year now and I don't even think about it anymore. The stick feels natural, in fact it feels far more natural to use than the pad ever did. tl;dr Stay the course, get practice and learning stick will pay off

Nobody used it because if you were in a position to 2C 8]D[ someone you could clap trap them and get 100% out of it (barring the characters that had a free out like Rachel/Bang/Hakumen).

Guide to CS2 Carl: Take CS1 Carl, remove all the juggles and replace with lolloop. Lolloop has all elements of CS2 Carl that are worth learning you didn't already know from CS1 like jC spike into 3]D[ and unblockable DP-safe resets.

Sounds like you need to release the D button sooner, Nirvana moves need to be released at the same kind of timing that you'd need to press a button for any other move. If you're doing 623]D[ make sure you release D at about the same time as you're hitting the 3, for her basic moves you'll be holding the direction while releasing D. Negative edging takes a bit of getting used to. But it definitely sounds like you need to work on your timing.
