  1. Yup, I know what you mean... =_= Of course, it's fine that it's true 16:9 mode, unlike Mahvel and its invisible walls, but it shoots down most possibilities for it to be used competitively... ...and besides, I've only got a CRT, so 4:3 is just fine for me... XD And I've been trying to remember for so long where "soma" came from... and then someone here reminded me that I watched (more like endured, I found it that terrible) through the first episode of Seikon no Qwaser and their rather "unique" mechanic... >_< Yup, Maori's got plenty of soma (I'd say Mei-Fang would have some, but she's a robot girl - they don't count XP). For comparison and scientific study of soma... http://www.giantbomb.com/arcana-heart/61-20477/all-images/52-171433/breast_comparison/51-599791/?page=1&sort=last Yes, this is official... XD It's for AH1 characters only, but I believe there's an updated chart for AH2 and AH3 characters floating around somewhere (including Eko's drawing Kaz XD)... O-O~
  2. Yeah, about that... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXXkT0Rucbw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4-Xr6hyyeY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCzLwTtSYOQ I can't believe I hadn't seen these vids up until now... XD For now, the official site implies that she is Score Attack-only boss monster. We may get her later as unlockable or DLC? Who knows. Mildred would be good, but they need to improve the AI on her as she was too piss easy compared to that cloth-wearing wench... >.> O-O~
  3. Nope, it's true 16:9 gameplay, from what many have seen from the TGS footage, meaning all of the spacing, zooming and some of the screen-dependent special moves will be affected. And there are no invisible borders, meaning it'll reach the end of the screen (it also means vertical height will be affected). Most of the Arcana Heart OGs on SRK and the Mizuumi forums reckon that 4:3 with static borders will probably be the default tournament format, just because it'll match the arcade version perfectly and so people will have less trouble should they run into any Japanese players, whereas 16:9 will be too different for many people who are already playing. Heck, it even says on the port's official website that 16:9 mode is intended purely for home consumer use, whereas 4:3 is the true arcade mode... O-O~
  4. Since no-one has updated with more of the new info unleashed today, I'll copy-pasta my post on SRK and NeoEmpire forums... O-O~
  5. Let's not blow things out of proportion like when news of the region-lock coding hit SRK's AH3 thread... ^_^;;; We're quite far along AH3's port development, with it already being October for a January 2011 release, so it would have to be a massive turnaround for ArcSystem Works to simply switch SDKs and implement it, just so that a few importers won't be tempted into buying it... It does suck for future titles (if developers and publishers decide to start using it), but, as I said in the SRK thread for AH3, it's unlikely (though still possible, mind) that this particular game will be region locked... ...of course, if it does happen, then I'll be making a call to my mate to trade PS3s... :S O-O~
  6. I went with Extend-Force.com, though I did like the suggestions of adventangels.com. In retrospect, arcanablaze.com is also good. And BCSuper.com is lulz... XD O-O~
  7. Methinks she most likely is back, maybe playable and will probably not be very balanced at all (like Archetype Earth in MBAA, she could just be banned from tournies :S)... Still, it nicely rounds off the cast at 24 if it is the case, and we'll have all characters present from all three AH games in the series so far... O-O~
  8. For those who played AH2 in one form or another... Looks like an old friend of ours is making a return (scan courtesy of woof)... http://imgur.com/3S4V5.jpg :/ For those unacquainted with this sexy-lookin' skimpy-dressed broken-ass wench of a last boss from AH2, she goes a little something like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjUa_TY1xgc I wonder if she'll be playable? I wonder if she'll be balanced at all, or if she'll be SNK boss hard again? And is she the mysterious 24th character to get a badge in the Suggoi Limited Edition of this game? Looks like we gotta wait for them full details... o_o;;; O-O~
  9. http://shoryuken.com/f2/arcana-heart-3-q-streams-every-fri-release-1-13-11-a-244582/index27.html#post9261674 Gravelneed was so kind to put this list up of what each Arcana does in terms of Passive and Extend Force abilities. http://arcanaheart.sakura.ne.jp/0408aru3/top.html Canon's Japanese Arcana Heart 3 site is the definitive source for all the other stuff, and includes pics. Punishment causes your E moves to be unblockable but lose their ability to launch upwards/wall, and it lowers your defence while raising your attack during Extend Force. Its moves includes a load of slashing type things. Sin causes your E moves to have extended range, but the Arcana's moves damage yourself. The point of this is that during Extend Force, your attack increases substantially depending on the amount of life you have remaining. You can send out a massive trident, projectiles that look like the Love Balls or a massive and sharp pinwheel trap thing. Luck is an evil little Arcana that can keep your opponent on lockdown by throwing die, especially the super (which rolls two dice). Strength of the move depends on the number(s) rolled. You can also increase your own luck of getting high numbers (similar to the buff-ups you used to get with Metal Arcana in the first game). Passive effects include random counter hits, random reduced damage and random endurance when you're about to be KO'd. Being in Extend Force amplifies your probabilities. Sacred has reduced time for max charged E moves and damage is reduced (read: red bar is regenerated) during Extend Force activation. You also gain health during Extend Force. The Arcana moves are kind of slashy and short-ranged. Hope that's helpful. ^_^ O-O~
  10. That's one of the nice things about Arcana Heart 3 - since there are 529 combinations of character + Arcana, not everything in the game has been discovered in the one year that's been out. It means that there's plenty more for the community on both sides of the world to discover. Who knows, maybe there's something horribly unbalanced that hasn't been found yet. That means it should still hold interest for the community for the next couple of years whilst everyone still tries to figure out as near to everything as possible (assuming that a fourth incarnation is not announced and everyone else drops AH3 for it >.<)... And yeah, just like the characters, there will be Arcana which won't be used as much. However, I have seen almost, if not, all Arcana represented in match videos I've watched. At the very least, all Arcana are viable. It's just that some are more viable than others (i.e. some of the ones you mentioned). Can't wait to play this game ASAP and try out everyone... ^_^ Should be fun... O-O~
  11. I would be there Day 1 for a European release, especially if it's a Special Edition... ^_^ *hint hint* ^.~ And if Zen United were kind enough to do a Suggoi! Limited Edition, they could add additional items, like booby mouse pads, full-body pillows and OSTs... XP *hint hint* ^.~ All seriousness, any Western release for Arcana Heart 3 would be great. It's a good game that should get some time in the limelight during this great rush of fighting games that we seem to be having... O-O~
