Blade stop picking on brice lol. I kinda see where he's coming from. Saturday we had a pseudo-prom night in the gay village, and I made out with a trap(not my fault) who didn't look anything like a guy. Doesn't help that the club was pretty dark(DUH) and I was wasted. What gave him up was he was getting hard, and I noticed that. When I realized, i was like what the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu---. Thank god I ended up with a chick that night, or that would have been my worse night here so far. -

At least you're out of the closet now. BTW, what's your type of girl Brice(besides Makoto obviously)? She's not a grenade either. She's cute sometimes(aka when she's not too high, which happens once in a blue moon lol). She doesn't. I can attest. Not happening. You can try though. -

Sounds like excuses to me. Trynna justify your failure and making a BB player leave our scene for good. I am dissapoint What's with the brice hate lol? Is that the new fad? And high level play is what fascinates people. I would have never gotten into BB if i was watching scrubby play. Pretty sure she wouldn't(she's not really INTO IT though..) either if i was doing lame ass combos(NOT IMPLYING MY COMBOS ARE HIGH LEVEL PLAY OR ANYTHING BTW) And yup, probably only me lol. Niche markets are the shit, don't they teach you that in JMSB? Thursday meet up is looking hype. My hazama is out for blood. -

Ken, you'd be surprised. Sometimes i look gay with the pink outfit, but sometimes, I look G as fuck, blunt in my mouth, super red eyes and you don't wanna fucking mess with me lol. I'm not G though, i'm a big softie :DDDDD I guess you could say my dressing style is bipolar lool. @Nolan: I thought we were cool bro... *SADFACE FOR HAVING HIS DEDICATION DOUBTED* -

If she's not Brice can have her. Lol. You're not good at teaching. You're fucking worse than me. Remember how you scared away that one Makoto player by not knowing how to hold back? And as far as attractive goes, if you like stoner chicks, you'll like her since she's always high. If you don't, then move along. I'll see if I can get her to meet ups, cause I don't think playing someone as ruthless(astral perfect that bitch all day lol) as me is healthy for a beginner. Not sure how serious she wants to get though, so she might not want to go as far as going to HQ. I'll definitely take her to Foonzo at some point though. It's also a café, so that makes it much simpler. There's also one of my boys who plays smash who's looking for people to play against, in case any of you play smash. Who knows, maybe he could transition from smash to BB/SF/Marvel if exposed to a vibrant scene. I tried explaining him that Brawl is ass, but it's his first and only FG, and he's fucken stubborn. On another note, who's down for HQ on thursday? Haven't played some serious BB in a while now, might be getting a bit rusty trolling beginners. -

Only english I taught her the basics(took way too long...) and she can do some basic combos, but it's her first FG, so her fundamentals need a LOT of work. Doesn't help that she gets salty real quick(worse than brice loool). I'll ask her if she wants to go to HQ next time she asks me to help her get better. She's playing Makoto too, so you can pretend you're beating on me and be happy you're bullying a low tier if she ends up going to HQ lol. Also, school makes me sad face. I have an essay due tomorrow apparently. No more HQ for me tonight -

By the way, is it ok if I bring over scrubsbeginners(literally) at meet ups? There's this girl in rez here who wants to learn BB since she saw me playing and found it fun. I can't teach/help her though, i'm wayy too impatient with scrubs. What i'm asking is, is there anyone willing to tutor a 100% beginner if i bring her to meet ups? Cause I know I sure as hell can't. Also pedro, like I said, i'm craving for Marvel, so i'm skipping class to play MARVEL today. My new team is good on paper, and i've learned some legit combos and unblockable setups now, i wanna try that shit out. -

Same fucken thing actually. No one uses 360 mid combo, so the only thing that matters is it's P1.

This is true, but what I see more is top players picking top characters to make sure they don't have bad match ups. @Kirb: You're too modest. Also, preach brutha, preach the wisdom. -

You know, there's something called being social. I always invite a bunch of people whenever I party, and (un?)fortunately there's always someone who gets the wrong idea and think I like them and try to hook up with me thinking it's guaranteed since I like them. Sometimes I let them, sometimes I turn em down So don't end up making a fool of yourself with your preconceived assumptions. ALSO BLADEEEE, 100+ PAGES. Isn't it time for a new thread? -

It wasn't aimed at Mucky. Just replying to some comments. Well, for a TAYGA PLAYA to get better, it's important to learn how to block properly(like luna said), stay calm(very important with annoying matches like Haz/Lambda, might not seem like much but it's harder said than done). Consistent I.Bing is also pretty much a must if you plan on being a competitive Tager. Knowing when and where in a blockstring you can I.B>360/720 also seems like it's very important. Also, learning gimmicks is good. Having a large arsenal of gimmicks makes your opponent feel like you actually have options. Ultimately, being unpredictable(random?) with Tager is key IMO. I get scared by Tagers who make me go like WTFF. Finally, don't hesitate to get videos of yourself and post em in the Tager critique thread to see which particular aspects of your game needs work. I can safely say that getting videos of myself, watching them and getting critiques from other players is one of the things that has helped me better myself. -

zzzz. I'm not trynna be mean, but it's a bit easy to blame losses on someone using a "better" character than you are. I have never seriously blamed a loss of mine on the person against whom I was playing against's character. A good player will be good with any character, and better with a good character. Picking a weak character is akin to handicapping yourself and pretty much giving yourself a fucking excuse. Boohoo, i'm Tager, I lost to a lambda/insert horrible match up, dumb game is dumb, i can't do anything the match up is ass. Well you fucking can. You can pick a better character, learn a counterpick for the bad match up(which of course takes some effort compared to just losing and complaining about the match up) and stop licking your wounds. When you lose with a good character, you can't blame the match up. You can only blame yourself and look at why you lost instead of blaming your character's lack of options. A lot of people indulge in their characters' weaknesses as if they're forced to play them. No, you're not forced to play a shitty character. If you're scared people are gonna call you names or you feel like you have to have "loyalty" to your character, then that's up to you. Don't blame your losses on something other than your moral code. And if people think they're better than you are, big fucking deal. I don't care if you're better than me. Point being, in a tournament, they will lose to this person who they think they're better than because they refused to play a better character, and that's that. That person will move on with their lives knowing they blew you the fuck up, and you'll still be stuck behind in much salt. @Mac: If they're trying to win a race with an old ass car when everyone has pimped out Lamborghinis, then they're just dumb. They might be the best driver there, but their car is holding them back. So you can believe you're the best driver, but you're not winning, you're not doing anything concrete, and in the end, you're accomplishing nothing. That's the whole fucking point i'm trynna make. There's a point where your character is the one holding you back. Then you get the lamborghini, get used to it, and start winning if your skills are as good as you believed they are. Look at it like this. What happens when you start fighting people of equal skill, but the play a much better character? You get blown up. If someone who is relatively good but has hit a wall because of their character's limit, I'm gonna tell them to switch it up. @Nolan: Yes J.F. is probably a better player than me. He's also a smart player and realized he's never gonna win against people of equal skill/near equal skill with CS Rachel and is learning better characters. Point in case. -

They go together though. It goes without saying that a good/better player wins more than one who's worse. Wins(or how close they get to one) are pretty much the only way to determine whether or not someone is getting good/better. You can believe you're better than someone, but if you're losing to this person, then you're fooling yourself. And using the excuse about tiers/character blablabla is not legit if you ask me. This isn't japan, you're allowed to counterpick or switch characters. If you don't wanna, then YOU are the one holding yourself back. -

SomeA lot of match ups can only be won through mistakes of the other player if he knows the right way to play the match-up. It's not impossible to win, but when you play people who make few to no mistakes and know the match up well, your chances of winning with Tager are veryyyy slim.
