  7. Ara isn't that bad. He has a bunch of bad matchups, his pokes aren't stellar, etc. To be honest, I would probably ask Arcsys to remove a bunch of other characters before him.

I haven't actually fought any decent(read: not free as hell) rachels on XBL, so I don't know how they use their jab, but I do play against a good local rachel player who knows his stuff and this match up feels(and is) annoying for both of us. Her up close game is not stellar but still decent, IB>jab allows her to initiate offense, and her keep away tactics are pretty decent. Whenever I lose against him, it's cause he managed to zone me really hard. I'm not saying it's hard, but I find it annoying cause you have to play really patiently and she has many things to piss you off like pumpkin. Maybe i'm doing something wrong or it's cause i'm hella impatient but I personally can't really call this matchup free. What's your strat for approaching Rachel Omni? Do you have any videos of you fighting a good rachel? I could probably learn a lot about the match up if you do:keke: Edit: I was misguided by my lack of skill and the Rachel's skill level being much higher than me. This match up is by far our easiest. General Tips 214A/B/C is good to get in. You can go into Lightning arrows if you're sure to jump over a lobelia for either 5K damage or a broken primer+ frame advantage. It can also cross up creating ambiguous to block situations 3C not so much since she can wind her lobelias to home in on us. Dash in Parry/Barrier is also a decent way to get in. Jump, Airdash barrier is a good way to get in as well Risk reward is retardedly in our favor. BBS>Zoning Offense/Pressure 5CC>6B isn't really a good idea. She can cat chair through that. Better and less obvious overhead setups include J.CC>6B, 2A>6B, 6A>6B 2A is really good(nothing new here) and stuffs a lot of her pokes Tick throws are very much worth it. Backthrow>Comet Cannon>stuff does a lot of damage Rachel doesn't have good answers to string>236A. Properly spaced, cat chair and her 2A whiffs, and she still gets hit by Makoto and the orb because of her hitbox. 4 primers and no real answers to 236A means she is easily guard broken Rachel's jab is really good, be careful of leaving big gaps in your strings J.B beats all her air normals as long as you're below her. Her anti air loses to J.CC and J.2C Defense Rachel's mix up in the corner is really good with george keeping you locked down. Out of the corner, IB>DP and IB>Backdash works really well when george is not out. 2A mash doesn't really work here, she has some interesting frame traps Her J.C beats most normals you throw when you're above her. Ground to air, 6A beats all her stuff, and parry is really useful here, especially against those instant J2Cs. Counter assaults are a good tool to use when cornered as they make all her stuff disappear.
  9. Hakumen isn't really annoying. He just has good long range pokes and big damage. Plus, he's a joke in CS2. Rachel has wind, lobelias, and pumpkin(how i hate that lil fucker). When she has wind, she pretty much dictates the flow of the match.

  11. I hate this matchup. Rachel is very annoying to fight against. She can't really do much, but she's annoying and forces you to lose your cool and do impatient shit like 3Cing under lobelias which will get you fucked. 3C isn't a very good tool in this match up. 214B/C barrier is pretty much how you approach. I like parrying lobelias and doing the follow up in case they're doing more dumb shit. Her jab is VERY good, so beware of that. She is also very vulnerable to corner oki due to not having a frame 1 invincible outside of counter assault. Once you corner rachel, the match is pretty much over. Her overhead is kinda slow so you should be okay when dealing with her mixup. As long as you keep your cool, you can win this match easily. It's just a very annoying match.
  12. This matchup feels in Makoto's favour IMO. Delayed 5CC works well to fuck up his I.B>Grab on 6B, but anyways, you have options to deal with it. Tick overheads/lows work well on him due to him not having any frame 1 invincible shit till he gets meter. Tager specific combos make corner carry and big meterless damage merge together. Once again, no frame 1 invincible meterless shit means he has to respect your corner oki a LOT. When you're magnetized, parry is your friend. If you're feeling it, you can ride a 5D's pull with a 3C for big damage(or one less burst to worry about). On Gadget finger oki, BBS beats everything he does except blocking and 5A(trade or will hit you out of startup) and is still safe on block. Anti airing him with 6A is tricky and risky as he can do J.2C and fuck you up for free. I rather stick with J.B anti air in this match. Even if he blocks, you get to apply pressure by mashing on jab till you land. If you get CH, it's a free 6K combo cause 5CC>2D or 5B>6A>2D don't require special positioning on Tager due to his hitbox. Random 3Cs will get you screwed. He can 360/720 that shit. Don't be dumb and hope for random shit to win. Still, if you do happen to throw one and he blocks it, you can safely apply pressure unless he IBd it. Most tagers like to sledge when you comet cannon. You can hit him by delaying the launch of the projectile(won't be lvl 3 though, so no combo for you). XX string into 214B is risky because of 2C. You can barrier it, but he can cancel it into 4d if you block it so you get magnetized in the end and he gets to apply pressure. 214C is a bit different because you can fuck him up with J.2C CH, but if he's expecting it, he can do shit like backdash buster to punish you. 214A~A/B is not safe. You can and WILL be 360'd out of that if the tager knows the matchup well. If not he can just mash 5A and apply his pressure. Use it when you determine what kind of player you're facing(safe/defensive, mashy/agressive, patient/passive, etc) 214A~C~A/B is - on block and very unsafe on IB. 214A~C~A is -3, B is -7, so it's punishable even non IB with a 360. You can just stop at 214A~C and continue pressure if you don't wanna take too much risks.
  13. DP? Backdash(Litchi's is too gdlk)? If you know it's coming you shouldn't be trying to jump out. I find a lot of Bang's ground command throw set ups really obvious to be honest. It mostly works well on very conservative people who block very patiently.
  14. I like getting mag'd. Riding it to hit some tager trynna pull me with his 5D with my 3C feels ridiculously good.
  15. Frame 1 invincible DP means he can get out of orb oki free if he has 50 meter so be wary of it. Other than that, match up seems fairly even. Not much he can do is really threathening. Just don't push buttons and you'll be fine. His 6B is notoriously dangerous so try teching on reaction not to get majorly screwed by a frame trap.
  16. So I've been learning some Hazama combos and I have a few questions. 1. Are relaunch combos only possible on FC? 2. How can I improve my dp combo on relaunchable characters? It's pretty much DP FC>6D~A>J9D~A>623D>J6D~D>5C(2)>2C>J.214B# Does around 4.2.4.4k 3. What's the most optimal combo off command grab with 50 meter and 100 meter?
  17. It's not biased. at all. 1. Someone who doesn't play Tager is shown how the options he believes will help make the matchup better are not as good as he believes by actual, decent Tager players 2. He is shown that Arakune got some important buffs where as Tager got "gimmicks". 3. He is shown all the japanese videos where japanese Tagers get blown up by Kune's and saysimplies the japanese don't know how to use tager's new tools. Anyways you're trying too hard to be optimistic. We'll see when the game lands. Theory fighter on a game we don't have yet is not leading to anything productive. And finally, believing it's gonna be harder is not akin to giving up.

  19. I'm pretty sure false hope and blind optimism is worse than educated pessimism. And yeah, I guess the Tager players should be happy that they get to be bottom tier 3 games in a row and that one of their worse matchups gets some major buffs.
