Honestly how many of you actually care to play BB and get better at it at this point? Naimat is taking it seriously, LSS is apparently... Astaroth has dropped it entirely for now, Idk wtf Midnight does. But it may be coming down to an issue of Blazblue just being stale at this point. No one is getting better because no one wants to play it at a higher level. I for one don't have any intentions to play it because I've got other crap I want to play, and when I play fighters I'm focusing on KoF and SF4 right now. Like I said, I learned as much of BB as I care to at this point, and if I play in a tournament I'm intending on letting my general knowledge and fundamentals carry me as far as they can, since I'm not going in depth very far with this game. LSS I can see what you want man, I know how you feel wanting to get better and everything, but like I said... No one posts about it probably because no one's playing it. It is what it is.

That wasn't a joke. I'm closer to the SF guys than any of you guys. That's a fact.

I can see that. I feel much closer to the SF guys than anyone that plays Blazblue. But then again, you guys play Blazblue. trollface.jpg

You do know that Inafune wanted him in SFxT before he left Capcom right? Probably to promote Megaman Universe. (which we see how that turned out.) So eh... That sounds like the best idea honestly. Part of what is keeping the scene so divided is that neither side wants to dabble at ALL in the other's games. So far it's literally been Myself, Milln, Astaroth, Patrick, Tad and Naimat (whenever they actually feel like it :P) and lately Doromac, as the only people who really try to go to the other tournaments and play different games. Before that I felt like I was the ONLY person who showed up at MTN and Jason's tournaments for SF mutually. And I feel like part of that is that too many people just have these blinders on, forcing them to play whatever the majority of their friends/people in their scene are playing. Which is stupid. I tried my fucking hardest to get some of the SF guys on BBCT when it was out and MTN was in it's glory days. I sparked a little interest but ultimately that fell to people not wanting to play it due to not liking it, or not wanting to dedicate time to it. And when Marvel 3 came out I was extremely hyped because I figured it would be the game both the SF and BB guys would play. Which it was.... for about a week. So I'm not going to be as naive to think SFxT will do it for us either. It just requires people to actually want to play more than the one game they feel best at. Get outside of your comfort zone and experience a different fighting game world with different competition. It will make you better as a player, in every aspect I feel. And as much as I love to rag and troll on Blazblue and you guys, you guys are awesome. And I fucking loved MTN back when CT was out and CS1 was just released. Using Hazama in his prime before he became even more braindead boring. That was the shit. And Relius is fun, so I'm going to be entering the next MTN to see how it goes. And to support MTN again after my inexcusable absence for the passed uhh.... time. (months?) Another thing is that a lot of the SF guys I've talked to don't want to try Blazblue at all because they feel like the players get an elitist attitude of "Well it's the best game. SF is too slow and boring and it's players are simple." I'm not accusing anyone here of that, but if you do talk like that, people hear it. It turns people away from the scene in general. And I know the SF guys are just as guilty of it themselves, but that's the way to ensure you lock down your scene and prevent new people from entering. Chris Brown is trying his ever loving hardest to get more people to the arcade though. Any time he sees ANYONE playing a fighting game in that bitch he like appears beside them and is like "HEYWHATSYOURNAMEAREYOUONTWITTERWERUNTOURNAMENTSHEREYOUSHOULDCOMEDAWG!!!" it's awesome. But that's more of what we need in order to expand our scene and get more players all around. We need people who are open to new ideas, new faces, new anything. Anyways, I almost feel bad about all the shit talking and trolling I do to Blazblue now... On second thought...

Hate to say it but welcome to fighting games... How often do you think Ryu has had drastic changes over the years? Blazblue is just stale is all. And I feel like the primary reason is that you just watch each other do the same shit over and over. Every match is a combo video, etc. I would run it for now if I were you Milln, but I wouldn't count on continuing for much longer... I'll enter the tournament this month if you run it, but I'm not putting forth any more effort into learning the game. I know Relius basics, but that's as far as I care to get in this game, is to the point of where I can play it. I'm definitely focusing on SF and KoF from now on though.

I'll buy your beer to null the jitters!

Nice :O NICE ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU NOT RETIRE!!! BAHAHAHAAAA
-
Eh... it looks cool. I'll try it but I probably won't try to play it competitively. I doubt there will be much going for it in terms of popularity either, so it'll probably die off pretty quick. :/

The problem with trying to compete at majors becomes an issue of money and time really... It's harder to get out there and do shit like that with jobs like Milln's :\ LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH US TAD!! I say us, but I haven't been going to shit. So them. USE THEM!
-
God damn tad you hipster... ... But srsly. You right. I actually prefer to try to play without dissecting everything about the game... It's always easier to just learn and react from experience than reading frame data and shit.

That's true, but I feel like whiffing or push blocking in BB is a lot safer than trying to get out of pressure in KoF. Except KoF does have blowback, but it does require meter. There's also Barrier Burst in BB. Idk, it's whatever. My point is that they're different games, and if you approach KoF like it's BB it won't end well for ya. Not saying that's what you're doing, but it's a theory.
-
That's not how I meant it, I know you have to practice in BB... but when it comes to that it's more of just muscle memorizing your combos. Then you play opponents and all you really need to learn to put up a decent fight is what your opponent's overheads and unsafe moves on block are. I'm just saying in KoF you have to learn a lot more than that, spacing and meter management become a much larger part of the game. It's a tougher game to learn and get good at than BB is. And my main point with the comment "I don't think you're used to that" is that you're used to learning Blazblue and other games like it. Not a game closer to Street Fighter, because I know for a fact very few of the BB players have really put forth their all at learning SF4 or any other game they find "slow" or "boring." It's just a different game, a different learning experience, and that's how KoF is. And that's what I was getting at with that comment. Not meant to imply you don't practice in BB. But honestly, you really don't have to. /trollface

Ambiguous cross-ups exist in every fighter, even BB. I've already found a shit ton of them with Relius. Like it's fucking stupid how easily he can do it. It's far easier to do an ambiguous xup in a game with air dashing or double jumps (BB) than without (KoF). Easiest way to prevent that shit in KoF is to just roll out of it or back dash. Or anti-air. They're not impossible or unfairly difficult to beat. As for 60% combos......... Dude you play BB. At least in KoF it requires meter and a lot of setup to do that much damage. I'll take skillful 60% in KoF over bullshit random 50/50 overhead/low corner carrying Litchi/Makoto garbage any day. Basically it's just a game that requires more practice. More than BB. And I think you aren't used to that. I don't mean that in an offensive way, I'm just saying blaz is incredibly easy to pick up and learn. KoF is a bit harder, you have to know a lot more about the game, and recognize more hits than the 2-3 over heads your opponent has like in BB. You also have a lot more to manage meter wise, with 3 characters and all. It's just a far more strategic fighter IMO. And that's a good thing. After playing KoF more at GG tonight, I may just drop BB entirely again. I'll hold on to it for the next MTN and see how it goes, but after that, I may drop it. Unless I really enjoy the tourney. We'll see.

That's pretty much what I'm talking about when I refer to fundamentals. Because I don't refer to "blazblue fundamentals" I just say "stupid shit"
-
Lrn2matchup. You could say the exact same shit about Blazblue if you weren't paying attention to something... You're probably missing something like what's actually a safe blockstring, etc. A lot of times it has to do with spacing. May be a safe blockstring from far away, but not close, etc. I mean... at this point you're just saying shits not fair without any real explanation as to your reasoning other than "WELL I TRIED BUT I GOT BEAT!!" figure out why then? FUCKIN RUN DUDE!!!
-
Dude... if you get beat by face rolling retards, you have terrible fundamentals. You should be able to beat anyone like that in KoF easily, because there's not a lot of shit that's safe in that game. All you need is a solid DP and you can beat any spammer. Sounds like you haven't taken the time to learn anything in it at all.

HOLD UP THERE SON Next MTN I'm gonna be entering ALL THE GAMES!!! ... except for you marvel. You're adopted.

... In unrelated news... I just had the first set of matches against a friend in CSX that got me as hype as our old CT matches did back in the day. He uses hakumen and I was using Relius, FT15... I took a big lead to 10 - 6 then he gradually caught up and it evened out at 14 each... Man was it nuts... but I pulled off the win with counter Astral. Felt so chandler man.
-
I'm sticking with KoF... finally decided my team is gonna be K'/Duo/Saiki TEAM DUDE LOOKS LIKE A LADY, COME AT ME BROS
-
I'm surprised some of you turds aren't freaking out over SFxT... shit is like blazblue execution endless corner carrying combo shenanigans
