lolno MK has a decent footsies game, surprisingly. It's a slower paced game, so it helps a lot with basic punishing stuff on block. And it has a lot of simplistic stuff like mind games with sweep, throws, uppercuts, etc

believe it or not I feel like MK has actually helped improve my fundamentals.

well most people's teleports startup takes longer than simple normals do to execute... so they have to be doing something really unsafe. You can't just throw out teleports wheneverdafuk unless you're Raiden. It's really more like SF where you play more towards anti-airs and throws, and doing small counter hits to get your damage, rather than always going for combos.
