  1. Sup. I come bearing news that there's an actual Irish scene for BB (sorta. Kinda. Ish.). Add Irish_Voa on PSN (same on skype), and I probably won't play you for about 2 weeks while I get my internet sorted :P If you're in the Dublin area, we organise our own casuals and some tourney stuff too; Tournament Page; https://www.facebook.com/pages/Day-Of-Champions/749749415077599? (We run a general tourney most of the time (BB, SF, MvC), but sometimes do focused tournies. We have an Anime tourney planned to coincide with the release of UNiB coming up). We organise casuals over on Boards.ie; http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1204 (Generally, we come in about twice a week, though moreso on Saturdays). If slipping these links in is not quite kosher, just pull them out :P
  2. If you're still looking, there's a BBCP scene down in Dublin. PM me and I'll add you on PSN to fill in some more details for you.
  3. I made the mistake of looking at some of the youtube comments. I couldn't tell which annoyed me more, seeing his makoto constantly drop combos and level 3 drives and proceeding to bitch about Tager, or the comments.
  4. A late 6A cancel into 360 is possible in CS1 as well, you just need to cancel the very end of the animation (so you don't jump cancel). Good to see that's still there though. But what kind of bounce does 6B cause, I can't imagine there's any real pickup off it... maybe an AC combo?
  5. Hm...every single time I backdash the makoto I play against, I get caught by something. Even when I'm going to barrier against him straight after, I'm still caught. jC, 6B, mashymashy 5A it's always something...
  6. I'm sure I've tried it in casuals...but I'll keep it in mind and try my best to it in the next match I have against him and he's magnetised. That said, my biggest gripe against her is I can't punish brainless pressure like I can against his Ragna. Run in-anything will outrange my 360A/B depending on timing/magnetism (much more than anyone else I ever fight against...) and backdashing against him is a big no-no, I get caught out each and every time.
  7. I think they're only spamming 6A because it's a new move. It's only natural to want to play with a new toy as much as possible...I used to spam Gadget finger EVERY chance I got, even if it was a poor idea to go for the DP-bait. [added] His sledge still has the projectile armour though? And is it confirmed that 6A is a fraction of the damage, it could have been smaller pokes that hit him before hand..
  8. I'm in pretty much the same boat. The size of the Irish scene limits who I get to play on a regular basis, so my main training buddy is a Makoto player... I've had well over a hundred and fifty games with him at this stage, and we went from me winning 9-1 (first few hours of his play time with the squirrel) to 5-5 (after a week or 2) to 2-8 (current...). Any time I try to read what he's going to do, he does something else; if I think he's gonna 3C, I 3C. Then he dashes in and puts me in an ambiguous blockstring with a 50-50 chance of catching me...then putting me into the corner and keeping me there until I burst, die or CA and run like a bitch (and even then I'll get caught by her jabs on wakeup...) Here's two vids showing off what happens when I have to fight him...I only do well when I play entirely unlike myself and randomise my moves (note the first match has me Tagering only in game 1...I was too frustrated and swapped over to my trolly Haz); http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61Stnr_QXj8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLZAREBXLb8
  9. Just thought I'd let people know that some of the tournaments have been recorded and uploaded to youtube on the Irish BlazBlue channel. If you're Irish and want to step up your game, Xinkai's links and this channel might help you know your local competition.
  10. Yeah, I was pretty poor that game. There's a handful of reasons, most of which just come down to me being really really scrubby/out of practice, both with tactics and execution, like doing a 2D instead of Spark Bolt at the end of game 1 round 2, or a million midscreen sledges. As for Vyze falling for the constant ez-mode resets, it's 'cause we have a tiny tiny scene, some of whom only started playing fighting games in general since CT was released in Europe. So the Tager he plays against is a totally different Tager to me, who never tries to reset combos in the stupid and cheeky ways that I do. Also, Irish broadband is sucky as all hell, so almost no chance of a decent online game for training against each other...
