Tsuchigumo

I'm a total newb to sticks, but I think I know what I want. I want responsive buttons, like the Happ ones. I want an octagonal gate, I find I like them more for any type of circle. For the actual design, I might go with a Sanwa-type layout. Not sure what type of wood I want. Anything else I should know? I might try to make my own, but I live in the smallest city possibe, so it might not even be possible. But I do have a lot of the power tools i'd need. And a box that I could use sitting around in my room. Still, i'd like to get as much know-how as possible before starting. Thanks in advance.

Ok, before I ask this, I'm going to go ahead and say it. The Drive and me are friends. So, yeah. My normal drive combo is DABC28D. I think. Still getting used to numbers. It ends with Spring Raid. Wondering if there was any good way to follow up with that, or if I should change something to make it better. Yes, I suck at fighting games. But I'm trying.
