  1. Neat little thing. If you get him in the corner DS on his wake up can shut him down. It beats every move he can do including his D dp, the only thing you need to watch out for is him to throw out his reversal super. That and he can try to jump out of it or just keep blocking. My experience uptill now is that if you manage to get this dude into the corner he becomes much much easier and you won't have to worry about his superior damage output anymore. Cons to this matchup are the fact that it feels like he can control the rest of the field better than you. That and if he catches you his better damage can turn the tables, god forbid if he gets you in the corner and actually has some nice meter... Keeping him blocking and forcing him into the corner is how this matchup should be played imo.

  5. hello ppl, So i just bought valk yesterday and was thinking of learning him. After doing some challange mode and reading a couple topics on this site I felt kind of lost =/ So maybe some more experienced ppl would like to help me out? I have played Ragna since CT so I am fammiliar with BB in general. 1. What does valk's tool set look like? 5b and 5c look like nice pokes and 2c is probably an anti air, 6c is an overhead, 6a has a guard point(dunno if thats really good) are there any more normals like this? 2. What combo's would you consider to be BnB? I tried looking in the technical discussion thread but the sheer amount of combo's boggled my mind... 3. Valk is suppossed to have really good pressure, could you give me an example of this in the form of a blockstrings etc? 4. What are good hitconfirms voor valk? I'm not expecting to someone to spoon me all the awnsers as much as I'm looking for a place to start... Tyvm in advance!
  6. Could you elaborate on the 5B situations? Is he being predictable with it or does it catch you by surprise? If he 5B's when you try to approach him try going for a max range 5C. If it's at point blank range try a 2a. If he does it when you jump in at him try barrier jumping or a well spaced j.c(not sure on this one since the jins i fight like to do 5c a lot). The easiest way would be to just throw out ID untill he starts to try and bait/block it/starts doing something else, thats when you can do something unexpected like rush in. As for the 3c, would it help to block low if you know he will do that after you land? Jin's overhead isn't that hard to react to, but I'm not sure if his 3c can be jump canceled. I hope this helps :P

  9. My opponents usually use it if i try to come in with a dash 5b, would it help to just keep dashing and throwing 5b out later help? Also anybody know any good hit confirms for 2b or a 6a? More often than not i get single hits in with these two moves but im always unable to throw something out that doesnt whiff or gets blocked. They are usually counters too, albeit at max range.

  11. Hey ppl, I signed up for a pre release tournament in my country but I have never touched any MvC game XD. I was thinking on picking up Dante/deadpool/taskmaster and am going to prepare by watching a lot of vids lol. So I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me? Anything is appreciated :P
  12. mmm, if I hj>jump over spike chaser i can't AD anymore right? Since GH and BE are easy to be punished I can't move closer after jumping. What is going to stop lambda from doing it again, even if she doesn't do another spike chaser she can get a blockstring when you land. A couple of times they even flee(backdash) after the blockstring as to not get caught by any of my normals and punish me when i IAD after them. Also lol @ act parser and 5a being AUB... I'll try the DP for corner pressure, seems golden
  13. Full screen spike chasers rip me a new one. It´s about 2 times rags height so jumping doesn´t help, maybe double jumping? And her block strings seem to go on forever, got my guard crushed in a matter of seconds lol. It would be nice to know what attacks to IB>ID
  14. The arrows of ice is jin´s invincible distortion, screws me over every time I try to stick meaty attacks, and yeah I think my biggest problem is mixing it up and autopiloting things that work. A small change throws me off. He only does his 623a DP on wakeup or his 623d DP. And yeah you are right I run up his face with a barrier on a lot XD.
  15. Well it´s my only form of aerial approach to be honest :P I tried what you typed and being aggresive is very hard imo, it seems just he always knows what i'm gonna do. Be it airdash, running or what ever, for some reason he never does anything when I suddenly barrier in his face... The few wins I have come from letting him come to me, burst in the corner and just make no defensive mistakes while keep chipping off little bits of his health since I'm never in range for a combo in which 5D will hit 2 times.(how do ppl do this shit?) I'm sure a good Ragna would be very dissapointed in me now lol XD. I meant that he is able to use j.b in such a way that 6a doesn't hit. That and I can't really do a reliable DP on wake up while he can soooo.... I have been eating a lot of 632146D(Arrows of ice, absolute zero) too today, he can do it on reaction ragna's yelling when attacking!(you know Ragna always yells when he attacks.)
  16. Ah thank you very much for the info guys, I still have one last question: what should I do if I get crossed up by j.b? For the moment I just keep blocking but it would be nice if I could take the offensive, oh and sometimes he does it in such a way my 6a whiffs his approach and he gets a j.b. I'm still scared to airial approach this guy since a other Jin I played just j.c ed my face everytime i tried to. But still I guess the true solution is to mix up a lot.
  17. I tried a few things out and Dead Spike seems to help greatly at range, in particular to keep jin from doing wake up DPs. Helps a lot in the corner.
  18. As far as I know air GH has less startup then ground GH, 12 frames instead of 20 ish on ground. That and the combo options are better, I tend to do a 5b>6a>double belial afterwards. I'd check the combo section for more details. It's nice when ur opp. is focused on crouch blocking since 6B can get stuffed by pretty much anything or maybe even during a block string on occasion.
  19. For some reason the 1F link on 22c>dash 5b always fails on me, have been able to do 22c>dash 5a by accident sometimes tho, I wish there was a visual cue on when to dash and 5b. The very best would be if a someone could make an instructional vid about it. So when you are able to dash the vid stops for a sec and some explaination by said player same for when to 5b. And once time in real time with colors to indicate the times but thats just wishful thinking XD. I'll go for a BK combo if I'm sitting on heat then, gotta learn one first tho :P

  21. Hey I'm having quite a lot of trouble against this Jin so I hope to learn something here. How do I frigging approach a Jin from a long distance, every time I try the following happens: 1. Airdashing with j.c gets stuffed by his 623a or with meter 623d which gives him a oppertunity to be agressive. 2. Running up 5b or 5c always gets ends up with me eating a CH by his 5c and then being carried to corner for massive rape(5k combo with heat, wtf???) 3. 3c under my running 5b or even when hells fanging at him... 4. Running and then brake with barrier to bait DP or other crap earns me a throw and another massive damage if near corner. 5. Running into his aerial fireballs(the D one namely) sucks not to mention them jumping over a 5b and punishing with j.b 6. Sometimes he backdash spams for lulz to bait a move and punish it, like he knows till where my move will reach... 7. Running ID seemed to work at first but after a while he just blocked and punished. Meter for RC helps with a number of situations above but if I'm not sitting on any it makes life hard. Also I got the tip to ID on wake up and to ID through his block strings, after which of Jin's moves can you ID in a block string, heard some don't even need a IB to DP through. You won't believe how in corner his 6c>6d kept raping my primers... or even guard crush after i already bursted and he did a 6c>6d>6c>6d>236d. Is it just me or is this guy always sitting on 25 meter to rape me...? Even as some ppl above have described jin vs rags should be in favor of rags but he's still pretty hard to me. Thank you to anyone who has some info and pardon my lack of knowledge if you read something stupid in this post.
  22. So what can Rags do on a guardbreak other than a BnB(BnB of choice being double Belial: 5b>3c>5d>6a>HJC>j.c>j.d>JC>j.c>BE>6d>j.d>JC>j.c>BE>5d>22c)? During a lot of matches I get a guardbreak but never can do more then a BnB which seems like a waste of all the hard work I did to break the primers... (I guess 5B>5C>2D is pretty free on psn with proper range, don't know if it's a good thing to do at all lol). After a while they wise up and try using barrier more which results into a danger state guard break, would be nice if I could kill them outright for that...
  23. Hmm both sides of the story seem very plausible, I think we just have to wait and find out eh? Don't really feel like this thread getting locked becuase things got out of hand... You seem pretty pesimistic about Tsubaki Pktazn :P I'm sure it will work out, the ability to steal light from everything seems very useful. Maybe she could make others blind and get her eyesight restored infinitly? That would seriously bump up her threat level imo. Also if she is paired with Nine they could pack a very powerful punch. Anyway does anybody know what will happen to Rags in the next game? For some reason I can't seem to think of anything except him losing yet another limb and shouting the names of his attacks :P Is it just me or is he one of the characters who didn't show any real development? He seems to be exactly the same guy he was at the start of CT. Btw do you think his new arm made out the regeneration tank of Lambda will make any difference to his gameplay or powers? I think it will be just a regular arm prothese with just a remarkable origin.
  24. Mmmm yeah that sounds about right. But you have to agree that controlling Takamagahara does give the NOL team a nice trump card.But I'm actually reluctant to count Haku,Rachel and Jubei as players for the good guys because they aren't allowed to interfere(Jubei might be allowed to I'm not sure). I think this was a decision made by takamagahara which now is in hands of Terumi so he might be able to flat out use the consequence Takamagahara used to force Rachel and co to stay on the sidelines. And even if Jubei is allowed to fight Phantom can just do what she did in CS, no biggie. And you are right about Haku, he is madly overpowered in story o.o. I mean it's like you said he can kill Terumi where as a the rest of the playable cast(not mentioning rachel) can't. Seriously someone should make a tierlist based on the story, Haku and rachel would be S tier at least lol. And I honestly don't know about Valk other than he is getting older and weaker. Seems to me that if NOL team takes the time to power up Tsubaki and Lichti they might pose a threat to him. That and a powered up Nu just makes me shit bricks lol she was portrayed as pretty strong in CT(no one ever beat her, tho Rachel and Haku could have.) If they say make her on the level Mu was in storyline she will still make life a bitch for the good guys. Lamb however never gave me the impression of being a powerful entity in CS. So basically, Haku and Rachel not being allowed to interfere + Takamgahara in hands of Terumi = Big advantage for NOL team.
  25. I think P-kun means the Nu life link? I think Rachel can very much die but they chose not the kill her, this is Terumi we are talking about and he has yet to slip up once. There probably was a reason to why he sealed her instead of killing her. Also wasn't Takamagahara the thing that kept looping time? If so that means NOL team already has the power to retry if certain unwanted results occur, because Terumi hijacked it at the end of CS. Lol imagne him doing the same thing as prince Dastan in Prince of Persia when something he doesn't want to happen happens. I'd say this makes Terumi pretty much invincible even if he was a one man team... That and the NOL team seems to consist of much stronger individuals, It took the whole cast to even take down Terumi alone, now he is supported by Litchi,Relius,rebuilt Nu,Tsubaki,Phantom(nine) and maybe even Saya herself(if the rumors being true that she is the 'that man' of the BB universe it seems even more impossible). In light of this Rags,Bang,Rachel who cant interfere, Haku at 20% strenght and who cant interfere,Tao,Jubei,Jin,Noel,Makoto and aged Valk don't seems al that tough at all :P Hell even give them Tager for all I care and NOL team seems way more powerful, they have their own world controlling organisation at their disposal and therefore unlimited wealth,manpower and rescourses. I'm sorry if i seemed like a flaming fanboy but I was just trying to express my opinion:P
