  1. I picked it up on Xbox One recently as well, and I'd love to learn to be better. So far, I am playing Ragna, so go ahead and add "Ribnax" and let me know you are from Dustloop and we can play whenever you like!
  2. GG to everybody who stopped by my room and thrashed me. It was a ton of fun. Some serious Chie, Mitsuru and Kanji players stopped by. You know who you are. GG, people. GG.
  3. Holy crap! Yeah, I did better playing you as Yosuke, but you freaking WRECKED me. As I said, I stink pretty bad, but I really want to get better. I'm glad somebody actually stopped in to play me. It's actually refreshing to play against people who can punish me when I whiff moves like that. It helps me get better. Even if I felt like I was on fire almost the entirety of our matches... >.> :D
  4. GGs to anybody I played tonight. I got wrecked most of the time. Thanks to everyone who wrecked my Yu and made me switch to Yosuke. Because of you I realized I'm better with him after all... Also, whoever that was playing Naoto, SICK job of setting those traps and knocking me into them. Using my Yosuke against that Naoto was the most fun I've had so far!
  5. I'll play you. I'm freaking terrible, too. Anybody willing to play my scrubness can find me online now. Feel free to invite, this is what I'm doing tonight, since all 6 of my friends cancelled on me. We were going to play P4A and BBCSE tonight. *Also, if I have a room up, it will be called "Ark's Grinder", and you guys are all welcome there. Be warned, though, I am still pretty terrible at this game!
  6. Yep. Me. Another scrub.
  7. I'm living in Katy now, anybody know of a good spot near there to play? I've been hosting little 5-10 person tourneys at my place for BB:CSE and P4:A, but it's just my friends and coworkers and none of them are into it like I am. :S They are all SUPER casual, and only two of them even have either of the games themselves!
  8. Oh, and also, I was doing really well with the ps3 pad until I moved to the stick and got used to it. Certain things, like dashing, became bothersome for a while, but now I feel pretty used to it on BB. Then I got an Xbox and switched over to that and since I didn't have the arcade stick for it, I used the xbox360 pad. It brought down my game with BB, but with P4:A, after I got used to it, I really was able to do the combos easily. I used the analog stick for movement, which was nice because I was used to the ps3 fightstick. THEN I found out about the 16th hit, a guaranteed Fatal Counter, at the end of All Out Attacks that end in the air. With the arcade stick I was able to use my index AND middle finger to alternatively mash both A and B and am EASILY able to get to 16 hits EVERY time. I can't do that with the xbox360 pad. That is really the only thing that I don't like about the xbox pad, otherwise I find the inputs and things, especially for Yu's air combos, easier on the pad. Then again, I am really used to the BB (square) = A, (triangle) = B, (circle) = C, (cross) = D setup and I haven't changed the button settings on Persona to reflect that, because I feel like there is a reason they did it that way and I should just learn it. (Also, revolver action works differently in Persona, from what I've played so far).
  9. I saw some people on Craigslist who were trying to sell or trade their arcade sticks in exchange for the one that worked with the other platform. If I can find somebody with the Xbox BBTE fight stick, maybe I could trade them and then change it myself. What is involved in doing that? I'm going to go look and see if I can find anybody who wants the PS3 version to trade for their Xbox stick while I'm at it.
  10. Hate to put this out there without reading every page to see if somebody had already asked this, but are there arcade sticks that work for both xbox360 and ps3? It would be fantastic if they worked on PC/Mac, in the very unlikely event that I get a fighting game on my laptop. I have the BB Tournament Edition Arcade Fight Stick for ps3 and it works great, but now I have Persona 4: Arena on 360 because now more of my friends have xbox and I want to consolidate, instead of having to adapt to several different sticks. Also, that would help me if I went to any local tournaments. Any ideas?
  11. I live in Houston, TX and I'm interested in some friendly matches as I try to figure out just exactly what I'm doing. After playing BB so much, this game is a bit of a switch, so people who are cool doing "all out" matches and then chat and give each other pointers would be perfect. I used to live with a friend of mine and we played BB all the time, so now that I'm out on my own, it would be nice having a few people to play with regularly, so I have some idea of my progress, and I'd rather play people instead of the AI any day. I have P4:A (and BBCSE) for Xbox, and my Gamertag is Ark R13 for anyone who wants to add me. Or you can message me and we can work play times out. I work evenings, typically from 3-8:30 pm, but other than that, I can play whenever.
  12. Yeah, I was confused until my friend that lives at Shadowbriar told me he and his wife saw it while they were out driving, I'll be hitting that place up once I get used to the BBCS Tournament stick that just arrived I may have to quit Hazama though Ragna and Haku are easy transitions but alas my poor Terumi... anyway as soon as I don't look like a COMPLETE fool I'll bring a few friends down there. Are you guys always hanging out there Thursdays? [i'm not particularly looking to get my ass kicked, I just want to get better and have a good time] Also what sort of scratch would you need for a few hours play?
  13. Hmmm, I have a friend that's learning Photoshop, maybe I could have him do it... I guess I'll look around at the local shops and if I can't find the BBCS TE, I'll have to get the SFIV TE instead and do that. Thanks a bunch for the advice!
  14. So, if I understand what you are saying, I could just get the apparently MUCH easier to find SFIV TE stick [since it's exactly the same] and have somebody make some art for it and basically turn it into a BB themed stick? Do people charge for that? I'm still pretty new around here so I don't really know how that sort of thing would work. I've just read that both the BBCS TE and SFIV TE sticks are rated REALLY high because they are made the closest to the actual arcade cabinet of any of the other sticks. Can you guys confirm this? All I'm really looking for is one that would help me make the switch to stick, save me some dough by lasting a reeeeeeeeeally long time and preferably let me display my BB pride for all the world to see. Another quick question, I've noticed that many people are posting about X being the 5th stick they've purchased, etc. Are they talking about wearing them out? Or just getting several because each one has its own feel?
  15. Hey guys. In an attempt to avoid asking questions that had already been asked I read through the first 10-11 pages or so of this thread, but then it devolved into a heated debate [argument] about stuff I didn't really understand so I'll just skip to the end and ask my question. I've played on an arcade-style stick a handful of times, mostly when I was little and I had a stick for my ps1 or snes or some junk like that. I can't rightfully remember. Anyway, I recently got into fighting games again thanks to the glorious masterpiece that is Blazblue. I keep hearing all these comments from people about how sticks are superior and I hadn't really considered it because of the price tag. I thought to myself "I'm doing REALLY well with the ps3 controller, so why should I switch?" Welllllll recently my d-pad has started acting up on me and the button inputs, while still workable, have started to.... soften. It's just not as responsive or tight as it was when I first got it. Playing on other friends controllers who aren't hardcore gamers or don't really play fighters reveals a clear difference so I began thinking about the ACTUAL cost vs. benefit of the stick vs. pad debate. Since ps3 controllers [at least the ones I have] have started to lose their fizz and they cost around 60$, if I have to keep replacing them, it will be a MUCH bigger waste of money than spending the equiv of 2 controllers on something that may last much longer. Since I'm completely in the dark about what makes a stick good or not, I've simply trusted the posts and links I've seen on tier lists for sticks but my issue is the only fighting game I like is Blazblue and I'm not artistic and I'm not arrogant enough to think I can make some sick art for a stick so I've been looking at the Blazblue Continuum Shift Limited Edition Tournament Stick [or whatever it's called, you guys know the one. limited run 1500 made, etc.] I have heard that Madcatz made it, which REALLY makes me nervous because I've never seen ANYTHING they made that I thought was even acceptable, let alone good. I've heard good things about Hori but I also read that the BBCT stick Hori made isn't any good. I really would prefer not to get a SFIV stick unless it's just stupid-better than the rest, or unless there is something else I don't know about. TL:DR I wanna show my Blazblue pride but most of these sticks are repping SFIV! Is the BBCS LE stick a good one to get? Can you even get one anymore? I don't know anything about sticks, anyone have advice?

  17. Ok, well I searched for PZ and saw something online that said it was at Westheimer and Shadowbriar, which is less than a block from a friends place who I actually got into the game, so we were going to go together. He only had an hour so I thought it would be a good time with a friend and then play some of you guys when he had to go, but SURPRISE SURPRISE! PZ is no longer there! Soooo, I'm trying to figure out where the heck this place is now. Anyone have an address because I can't find one anywhere? Also, any of you guys that want people to practice against/improve your game I can at least fight back a little bit... I think... Add me on the PSN now that THAT part of the PSN is back up. Not sure about the rest.
  18. As someone that is pretty new to these forums and is making a serious effort to become tournament competitive with Hazama, I love these forums. They are very informative, if a little spread out, so I'm glad you are trying to improve them. I just discovered the self-improvement thread, and I'm not sure I'm even at the level where it would be helpful for me [i have a voice in my head telling me the list of improvements I need to make would be long enough to warrant it's own forum... * sigh *]. I'm still trying to use my PSP CSII to overcome my muscle memory from CS1 because honestly all the changes make me feel like it's ALMOST back to square 1. In some ways it's easier but I'd really like to see the old comprehensive guides updated to reflect the new data, the 'cs2 changes' forum is interesting but ultimately it doesn't feel as helpful as updated descriptions of moves and consolidated combo lists might be. This is all just my opinion and like I said, I'm new here, so take my opinions with a bag of salt. Thanks to everyone who helps admin and mod this place, it's one of my bookmarks I visit most. Long live Dustloop and BlazBlue!
  19. @Thrash242 Where in SE Houston? I'm in Missouri City and I've actually held a few tournaments at my house, but I only have 2 friends that can almost keep up with me. I gotta check this Planet Zero place out as well, but if you are looking for some BB matches, I'm down.
  20. I'm near Sugarland, and I have 3 friends that play, but hey when it comes to BLAZBLUE, it's 'the more the merrier'! I'm always looking for more people that play. @ThunderboltZ28 Is there an arcade here with BBCSII? If so, I'll come check it out, never played BB on a cab before, just been using my trusty Sony consoles :D
  21. I freaking love CSII, I'm just hoping this whole PSN debacle doesn't screw us PS3 users on the patch, because I need to practice my Hazama on a REAL controller.
