  1. ^Thanks for the blockstring ideas! (Snipped a lot but I want to comment on all of it haha) I feel like I owe you money. Thank you SO much for taking the time to do all of this. Also, even if I do 'know' some of the things you mentioned, I clearly haven't put them into practice or am unconsciously doing things, so it's great to hear it or have it pointed out regardless. I needed to hear the nail usage comment. I knew I wasn't using them enough, but I needed to hear it lol. The blocking thing is so true. Part of me just IBs cause it's fun and reminds me of other games' just defends, part of me is purposely doing it a lot to get comfortable with it, then ween off it and work on barrier/barrier-IBing more. But you're so right, even if I'm decent at blocking, I will get opened up sooner or later (Evident in even the matches I posted). I really like that philosophy on how to approach the Hazama match. That, paired with your advice to pressure more, go for better knockdowns and stay on them is what I am probably going to work on the most now. I actually had no idea 5C is jump cancelable, that has changed my life lol... And I need to start doing it off 5B, too. In short, I agree with all of your critiques and advice, even as a new Bang player I see the reasoning behind them. I'm stubborn and want to use j.623B as an ender when I shouldn't haha, and I am stubborn with 5D at the end of block strings, but I'll do my best to curtail both of those haha. Crunch week at work this week but I can't wait to sit down with this and that FRKZ tutorial and try to better my Bang. Thanks a ton!
  2. You.are.the.man. I was in such dire need of this. Can't wait to start studying and practicing it later this week. Not sure where to post for this, I wanted feedback so I didn't put it in the Video thread. I began playing Bang recently and have a couple first to 3s/5s I've recorded. I have a bigger batch of casuals but won't make you guys wade through that crap lol. Anyway, if you get bored I'm open to criticism, I won't take offense. (To be fair to Tage*Proto, it was super late at night when we got to doing this FT3. And Secret High Tier destroyed me in this FT5, I wasn't adapting at all). And here's a highlight clip from a long casual set lol...
  3. Dood yeah, that set between Venom and Axl? His pressure and oki looked disgusting. So early to really say but he's looking strong.
  4. This is my exact strategy with Tager actually. I agree with Beat_By-X, this is definitely in Kagura's favor. Kagura's C normals control so much space and the correct angles against Tager, it almost makes me feel bad. And it could get worse for Tager with this update lol...
  5. Good stuff man. I really like the speed at which you play, and really good use of his 5B. I also had no idea that you could dash up and 5B after a far CH 3C like that, never even thought to try haha. Thanks for uploading those.

  7. Honestly, in theory, I like the new 6A change. I think I might actually use it more with less recovery on it. Like a standard poke when up close, and, like mentioned before me, treat it like Jin's overhead. The 2DA change is going to be an adjustment though we can still cancel into orbs from it while grounded, right? And I really hope the 3C translation means on block. If it no longer pops up, that's going to sadden me mid-screen. We'll see come the final release but he's sounding a bit more snappy and fluid to me. I'm pretty optimistic.
  8. You're the man, thank you sir! Amazing vid, helped me a ton. I actually have combos off throws now haha. Find it odd the video went into 5C fatal stuff but not 3C fatal. EDIT: I saw it somewhere, but when dealing with some characters the IAD combos seem to differ a lot. Noticing it a lot on the smaller female characters. For them, would you recommend just going for say xxx > 6C > 5D stuff instead?
  9. Haha was about to ask if there's a nice, clean, easy to understand 'basic' combo vid, a primer of sorts, for Bang. That OD vid is the first one I que up haha. (That's insane though, the 8 way dash in combos is too stylish)
  10. ^Agreed, though a faster 5C would help him immensely in what I consider his weakest point, his midscreen/neutral/footsies game. I just hope that bullet is correct and they don't up the recovery on it to balance it out.
  11. We filmed some first to fives and casuals last week. If you're bored, please critique my matches. I won't take offense, so go all out with ideas and recommendations haha. (My only defense is that I was beyond tired for about half of these, but that's just an excuse too lol) (Some of the names are transposed or wrong at times) Vs. Tage*Proto (AZ) Vs. Moblin (HK) Vs. Hellfire (AM) Vs. Secret High Tier (JN, RG) And I can't find the match versus Blue Thunder (TG) right now, I'll post it up soon hopefully.
  12. Yeah getting clean hits on Hazama is a pain, which is true for many characters, but especially with Kagura because of his mobility and slow startup on any decent poke. Honestly though, I find j.C to be amazing against Hazama. I would try to 'poke' with that, hitting it high in your jump arc and don't even try to combo off it unless you land a counterhit. And chains don't hit crouching right? So d/b and sit on Kagura's flash kick is actually a viable strat to ruin a lot of Hazama's approaches with chains. I don't have a ton of advice but my suggestion would be to go for standard pressure and pokes rather than big combo starters. Just slowly take his life off when you can until you force the error. On counterhit flash kick, I'd go straight for A fireball oki rather than any sort of combo. I will be getting more experience against Hazama soon, so I'll try to offer random things I find useful later.

  14. I feel scrubby asking this, but how is it Kagura can combo both of his supers into one another? Is it just a link while in OD?
  15. So far this is the most uncomfortable matchup I've come across. I don't rely on 6D~C but Amane shuts it down almost entirely with his physical based attacks. That, paired with a slow run, I often feel like my only real option is a super jump barrier block to approach lol (Like the old days with Nu). Anyone have experience with this matchup or have general advice against Amane I could apply?

  18. I read somewhere in this thread a bit back about how to cancel from command grab to OD but I can't seem to do it. Saw it in one combo vid, looked useful. What I remember the post saying was something like 2D~4D, OD activate?

  23. I don't really know what recovery is considered 'safe' in BB so I figure I'll ask this here. What's 6C like on normal block? More specifically, what's 5C, 6C looking like in terms of safety if both are blocked?
