Looking For Advice on Finding Good Controller
cyanprime replied to RifleAvenger's topic in Beginner Mode
Try this: https://www.amazon.com/Fighting-Commander-Controller-PlayStation-BlazBlue-Central/dp/B01M9EWIN5/ I use the black one and love it. Going to get this one by feb. -
Okay, so I've noticed a few different types of input buffers, and want to know what one I should focus on implementing in my fighting game input library - BlitzPad - if I want it to be useful to the majority. Here are the kinds of buffers I've noticed. (C is a button input, and numbers are directions) 1) input matches the end of the buffer You could do 6626236C and throw a hadoken. 2) input match anywhere in the buffer in the proper order (within reason) You could do 2233996C and throw a hadoken. 3) exact. you must put in 236C to throw a hadoken. 2366C, or 2336C would not work.

There's some good 3rd party pad info here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9052-3rd-party-ps3-controllers-previously-hori-gem-pad-3/ Hope that helps.

Well, I asked in chat if I could link to other forums, and got no answer, so I'm just going to link you to this, since it's what you're looking for: http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/190681/hori-fighting-commander-4-for-ps3-and-ps4

Yeah, reguarding the Hori GemPad, The pad isn't too great. After I went back to the Dual Shock 3 everythign got so much easier to do in fighters. ----------------------------------------------------------- [Note that this thread has been repurposed to a PS3 3rd party conroller general at this point] So I just found a pre-owned PS3 Mini Pro EX Wired Controller by Power A for 16 at gamestop. Seems to be in great condition, and is actually really nice to use for fighters. I did some tests doing Dragon Punches in Guilty Gear +R with Sol, and then in P4U I did some combos with Yu and it handled nicely. I prefer the placement of the pad being like a Xbox or GCN controler too, so that was a plus for me. It's pink, but eh. Does anyone else have any expirence with this type of controller, or any others by Power A? Cause they seem like a really good brand. I also tried out the Elite Mini Wireless on Wii U, and that was the best controller I've ever held.

Edit: I'm going to reporpose this thread as a general discussion for 3rd party controllers for PS3. I hope that's okay with the staff. So I bought a Hori Gem Pad 3, and I kinda like it. It's wired so I can use it at tournaments, and the D-Pad seems alright. Basically on the same scale as the DualShock 3 anyway. I'm wondering though, cause I can't tell if I'm messing up, or if it's the controller. Hori is a great brand, right? They make the top arcade sticks, so I figured their Gem Pad would be the same quallity, and it feels like it is, but can anyone else confirm if the Gem PAd 3's D-Pad is at least as good as the Dual Shock 3?

Okay, so this topic might seem a little dumb, but I'm honestly curious about when the point of "stop being a sissy" becomes the "I need to take a break for a week or so or I'll mess up my thumb." Now I know blisters don't have long term effects, but I'm starting to get one on my thumb (around the middle of it) just from a day of playing GGAC+R on my Dual Shock 3, so I think I'll be getting a lot of them until I get a calus there (Which I'm thinking is a good thing, kinda like a guitar player?) So, my question is: at what point do you take a break to let your thumb heal up, and what are things you can do to prevent blisters? Also, I've ordered a Hori Gem Pad 3, and am wondering if that + dpad would cause less blisters then the Dual Shock 3's dpad?

Is this the thread to discuss JoJo HD as well? Cause I wanted to ask if anyone has made a combo list (written down) for Young Joseph. I'm trying to main him, and can't find any chain-able moves. :< -

You can find me in Lakewood, WA near the towne center. Anyone else around that wants to play so Jojo, BB (you'll have to bring a ps3 copy) or P4A? PM me for more info/a time/place to meet. (PS: I am gay/bi so you gotta be at least willing to not physically attack me for it, and on that note my boyfriend plays fighting games too. SF, BB, GG, and is raving about P4A) Edit: forgot, we play Gundam Extreme VS as well.
