  1. Mitsuru looks like exactly my kind of character. I may have to pick this up.
  2. Man, I leave for a week and we're still talking about what we do with bros, what is this? HEY Y'ALL, I CAN READ. MTNG to me is a place to meet up with a group of like-minded individuals and enjoy myself. That's what communities are for, fighting game based or otherwise. It's not a place to bitch about what the community is about, or the community. It's not about proving how right you are, or how good you are. Good communities aren't held together by doing one thing the rigid and right way, they're held together by grouping up and having fun. Oftentimes becoming extremely close friends because of the nature of seeing a lot of someone with shared ideas and interests.
  3. If I see a black dildo and some axe body spray I'm out.
  4. I'm on/off about Blazblue, I don't think I can take it seriously as of this iteration despite it being a solid game, but I'm not sure how long I can go without picking up my popsicle stick and poking some fools. Count me out of coming Blazblue tournaments for now, I just can't see myself putting in the time it needs for Blazblue, when I want to get more into Guilty Gear (no matter how soon or otherwise the port is) and another game, leaning towards KoF, or SFxT if what Snipe says about SFxT rings true.
  5. Crap, I was halfway through writing these out yesterday but I must've killed the page by accident. Anyway, FR was amazing, it was really cool going to my first major, hanging out with people I do and don't know, and playing some great games. Shout outs to everyone who made it possible, it was a great event. Shout outs to Eshi for housing us, and giving us the chance to practice before the event, and for having a really solid Makoto who would destroy me if we ever had some casuals. Shout outs to Milln, my hero, the man who jumped on a grenade for us, drove us, and cheats like a sonofagun in Munchkin. You have my respect good sir. Shout outs to Papstr for being the worst seat-saver ever, scientifically proven with magnets. And for being too fuggin' picky at money matches, and for being a chill dude who helped make the trip great. Shout outs to sexually harass Midnight weekend, because it's deeply ingrained in the fighting game community. And for you know, Middy himself for being a cool dude that's fun to hang out with and give a hard time to for never practicing. You helped make the trip awesome too. Shout outs to car songs and bedtime stories, because they never get old. Shout outs to Skeletal Minion and Bears Are Scary, it was cool meeting you guys (again for Bears) and getting bodied in casuals. Good games, and hope to hang out some other time. Shout outs to everyone in GG, it was really cool watching you guys and playing a little bit, which has only made me want learn the game more. Also, the grand finals were absolutely amazing, Steve H and Kusoru deserve all kinds of respect. Shout outs to St1ckBuG for being the only person to ever apologize for winning, I laughed, and you won fair and square, good games man. Shout outs to Blue Link, it was cool meeting you in the hotel pre-tournament, the Litchi was Top_Cat/Midnight by the way. Shout outs to Lockhart, the BEST Valkenhayn I've ever had the pleasure to fight, and one of the few players who makes me feel like I need to CA or jump out of pressure, which never really worked. Good games man. Anyone I forgot, sorry about it, I'm still slightly fried.
  6. Star, I'd imagine what You're experiencing is just good ambiguous crossups, if you could easily just plan on them and react to them they wouldn't work.
  7. You realized that every Tager player secretly has a pocket Platinum to whip out when the time is right.
  8. I do all of the above in KoF, I just can't find a character I like other than Ash. So if tournaments would be 1v1 I would be all over it.
  9. Snipingsnipe is getting really hype for it and the Persona game Grimstar, and I'll take that tricksy bet Tad, though I'm confident it'll take a while of preparation.
  10. Yeah, thank you very much for letting us crash at your place Eshi. I'll go ahead and bring a sheet and pillow, which is good for me.
  11. More like: NOC, Y U NO SMITE!?
  12. Regardless, I did it offline too :P
  13. I wasn't in CS1 :U 18 frames was doable in netplay as long as I didn't go for a 6d
  14. Back in CS1 I WOULD consistently react to a lot of overheads, and even react and consistently 6d a few of them. And even now I can block Plat's 6B and Rachel's mixups more often than not without guessing.
  15. The point Jackie was trying to make is that the high/low mixup isn't really 50-50 if you know the matchup. You just hold down+back and react to the overhead. Reacting to an ambiguous cross-up is more guessing because sometimes the difference between a forward and back guard will be so small that even the one going for the cross-up won't be sure which side they'll land on. At least, that's my experience with it.
  16. Makoto also has the arms of a T-rex, reactable gimmicks for getting in, and slow mixups. She's not my favorite opponent, but she's not too bad.
  17. Been playing AC a lot lately, but I can't really do much execution practice as thing are now. I am incredibly hyped for training mode that I can use my PS3 stick in.
  18. I'm sticking with the only guy I can pretend to play well. Haku-men in all his maybe top tier glory.
  19. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF- SKARNER, Y U SPLIT PUSH SO HARD?
  20. Saw that earlier, and oh my god, Milln, can we run it can wecanwecanwecanwecanwecanwecanwecanwe?
  21. My backstory is since I was about ten years old I'd been playing card games, RTS and turn based strategy games, and fighting games on a casual basis, and meeting up at Snipe's place to do all of the above for about as long. So a while back when Snipe introduced me to CT I went and messed around as Hulk colors Tager 'cus never changing colors bugged him a lot :P shortly before CT met the end of it's lifespan and CS came out I got off dial-up and moved to basic DSL, so I borrowed CT to see if it'd lag horribly and it worked fine. So I HAD to buy CS1 and play, a lot. I probably put over fifteen hundred matches in the first five months or so and in the process found out my favorite part of playing competitive games is improving in them. And then a while ago I got a PM on bb.com about a certain local tournament from Middy, and here I am today.
  22. Read as Magic: The Gathering info. Oh, if only. Also, hype for new GG streams I guess, and PowerUp is still sketchy for me because after mid-March I'm going to be EXTREMELY poor, hopefully I can get a job as soon as possible mid way/after March, but no guarantees on anything. And backround stories of gaming are always cool.
  23. Renai Circulation too good.
  24. Hey man, I think the music in this video is undeniably fitting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNNUklhHXjk&list=FLhPCmMORKs8Oo_8N_FMPWcw&index=58&feature=plpp_video
