  1. So I did some research on OD time limits based on health percentage remaining for Makoto. The 10% interval per increase is not exactly true. My testing was performed as follows: Set training mode dummy to Makoto Created a recording that activated OD on frame 0 of the recording's frame count and lasts the duration of the maximum OD meter. While setting health to various percents, I activate the recording, and near the end of the OD meter, I pause buffer the game frame by frame while watching the frame count. Using the same method, OD activation is found to be 70 frames, this value is subtracted from the OD meter values presented below. The training dummy was not touched by any attacks or whatever during these frame buffered tests, as certain actions (hitstun) extend the life of the OD meter. Anyway, the most notable pieces of information from this to me are: You have access to your two longest OD meters when you are below 24% health, not just when you are below 20% as the Wiki claims. The largest gain in OD meter frames occurs from the 12-23 interval to the 1-11 interval, increasing by a massive 119 frames. The next largest increase after that is only 60 frames. Start memorizing how 'dem health bars should really look!
  2. You can use this first one to complete challenge 30 if you're interested, the rest is just other options with the route. If health < 12% OD > Space Parry > Corona Upper > 2d > Lightning Arrow B > 5d > Cosmic Ray > Shooting Star > TK Corona Upper > 2c > BBS > PF, 8268 damage Same, minus BBS, 7476 damage If health < 24% AND health >=12% Same, and finish with non-OD PF, 7806 damage. You can start non-OD PF soon enough after BBS that the combo is still unburstable. I achieved 49 minimum heat gain upon connecting with 2c, doing the combo as fast as I could while critical health passive heat gain was occurring. So, starting with 51 or greater heat should ensure a double distortion ending. I wouldn't really call it practical but perhaps possible. If you really want to make a hard read on the opponent and are confident in being gdlk, all you need is your burst and 51 heat, or 1 heat if you don't need the double distortion. On another note, I'm going to research the health percentage to OD timer relation. Assuming the length of the OD bar is a direct representation of the time left and no other funny business is going on, that whole 10% interval stuff is a lie.
  3. Well, I haven't been able to develop my digital art skills quick enough to make a birthday pic in time, but I did manage to up my WiFi Warrior square to yellow today. That's kinda a present too, right? I'm still going to go for a belated happy birthday art for her, tho. You know, the change that I find most confusing of all is the backdash from 20 to 22 frames. Like, why? I can't think of any reason why it needed to change (read: made slightly worse).
  4. GGs Hyper, and... I dunno if the other guy is on here, but you too if you are, lol. I need to not take haituses in games, I get rusty way too fast. :V
  5. Have I ever told you how sinfully easy you make updating this thread, Yazu? I love it.
  6. GGs again HyperMarth. :V My Chie is so derpy. I think I keep getting hit by a lot of silly stuff because when I try to block with 4 I accidentally go to 7... I need to fix this.
  7. GGs, although I'm really just flying at the seat of my pants trying to keep up with your Mitsuru and Summoned's Yosuke, lol. Hope you didn't mind my terrible Chie.
  8. Oh I see, so it's just a low to the ground, quick 236AB ~ AB. Thanks! My difficulty came from thinking I had to do two 236's, one for the canceled Rampage and another for the Skullcracker, haha. That also made me initially think it required less than 75 SP at the start of the first 236AB, otherwise it would result in a Power Charge lol.
  9. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I did a little searching around and couldn't find the info I was looking for. How do you do Skullcracker without preceeding it with Rampage? I've seen a few Chies do that in videos. From what I can tell (though I could be wrong) it looks like an SB Skullcracker just after landing, and it probably has something to do with how you can 236AB in the air before landing and get the SB glow without doing Rampage, but I haven't been able to figure it out myself.
  10. Oh derp, go figure it'd be on your own channel lol. Got it down now, thanks! It has slightly less carry distance than mine, but I'm getting 7148 with CH 2C > 214A~D > PF(2) > BBS > 665D > 214A~C~B > 5CC > j.5B > j.5D > 665CC > j.5CB > j.5CB > 623C~D (or be a jerk and replace 623C~D with a purple grab for a greedy 8823)
  11. I don't even know why I just started grinding stuff out in this game with CP around the corner, but whatever. This is meterless, in the corner, just a plain normal 2c hit needed. Character dependent route variations in bold. Excuse the lazy notation, I'm exhausted @_@. 2c 2d 236ad 5cc 5d 214acb 5cc j5b j5d 5cc j5cb j5cb 623cd :: 5202dmg, +46ht hazama, ragna, lambda, tager, litchi, taokaka, noel, moo, relish, rachurr, bang, tsubaki, (blob and hackmin)* 2c 2d 236ad 6a 5d 214acb 5cc j5b j5d 5cc j5cb j5cb 623cd :: 5090dmg platinum, carl 2c 2d 236ad 5cc 5d 214acb 5cc j5b j5d 2b 5b 6a j5cb j5cb 623cd :: 5193dmg valk 2c 2d 236ad 6a 5d 214acb 5cc j5b j5d 2b 5b 6a j5cb j5cb 623cd :: 5084dmg jin *It was probably due to me being tired, but I found the timing of 5cc > 5d more strict on these two, and occasionally crossing under and sending them flying out of the corner, lmao. If you find these timings difficult as well, just go with the platinum/carl route for them. @Bibi: Do you know if there's video of that combo somewhere by chance? I'm having difficulty with the PF > BBS tricksies.
  12. Don't know if this has been posted before but, this it 100% heat CH from midscreen to corner (the farthest it works is a tiny bit farther than where you reset in training mode, conveniently enough). CH 5C > 2C > BBS > RC > 66 > 5D > 314A~C~B > 5B > 6A > 2D > 2C > 214A~D > 5CC > j.B > jc j.D > 665CC > ender Does 6496 and leaves you with 35 heat.
  13. It'll be interesting to see what all she can low-profile with her 2B this time around. I remember she could low-profile her own DP... Gold trolled me with that a bit, lol. Awesome to hear you're finding her fun to use, Hiago! slightly off topic section: Finally back from Apex and caught up on whatever real-life stuff I missed. Vid thread is up to date, and a big thanks to you guys for posting so that it was easier to update. Sometime soon I'll be remodeling it to look/navigate better. Got the chance to make a small, subtle shout-out to err'body's favorite squirrel while on the live-stream at Apex. B)
  14. I have this terrible feeling that I've brought my low tier curse to Makoto. Every character in every game I've ever played always ends up being low tier... except Chie in P4A, but whatever. Also, wanted you guys to know that I won't be able to update the video thread until later next week; it's currently caught up with the most recent posts. I'm going to NJ for the weekend to attend Apex 2013 (the Evo of Smash, if you're not familiar). So hype. Will be competing in Melee singles and P4A. I was training for the event pretty much all winter break, which is why I've been so lurky here, lol.
  15. Maaaaaaan. 14 links removed. Because, ya' know, who needs amazing free advertising agents? Or something like that. Matsu is getting pretty fun to watch.
