Ottawa: Why have fundamentals when you have gimmicks?

Oh right, I almost forgot about that thing. I guess I should take my lazy ass through story mode so I can unlock Sin. -
Ottawa: Why have fundamentals when you have gimmicks?

Aye, just making sure I have the mean to get there and back before I drop down the moneys. -
To play devil's advocate, wasn't Nine able to fight the Black Beast with her magic? And isn't magic in BB technically not based on Seithr?
-
There's also the question of if, in canon, how much he heals from absorbing a person's soul is determined by how powerful said soul is.
-
You mean like, "how much percentage of a person's 'soul' per hit does Soul Eater actually 'eat'"? Because I actually never really thought of that.

I know this kinda got discussed on SRK, but is anybody here going to CECC2? If so, I'd kinda like to see on hitching a ride with someone. Otherwise I'll see if MTL's going to like swing by here on the way over and if I can go with one of them. -
My main problem with One Minute Melee is actually the size of the timer since a bunch of times the timer itself will wind up giving away who's gonna win.
-
That punches down trees to catch squirrels for dinner. And if we're going by personalities in DB and using the Superman vs Goku example...wouldn't both of them eventually just wind up teaming up together to protect the planet anyway?
-
Considering I think someone said if Sol takes off his headband he can essentially one-shot all of Earth and time (or something like that) without breaking a sweat, I'd say that's a pretty clear picture on his strength.
-
Of course, the fun fact is that with Screwattack's new schedule thing for 2014 that's starting tomorrow being in place soon, Death Battle stuff is scheduled to be on Wednesdays from now on so you might just be cut off midway through.
-
Yeah, it's true. People have been going crazy over the results of Death Battle matches since they did Starscream vs Rainbow Dash.

So, woo, my BenQ's all working now, and it's awesome. I've been playing a little Xrd online, but man I feel so free, lol. -

I checked Future Shop and Best Buy on Merivale and they didn't have any, but I finally found one at the EB over there, so once I get the monitor situation sorted out, it'll be perfect. -
Yeah, Wiz is always supposed to be the knowledgeable one who makes sense of all the stuff and etc. Boomstick's supposed to be like the comic relief guy who makes things more entertaining by talking about how awesome weapons are.
-
Wait, what? How is that even a thing?

The funny thing is I actually have TWO HDMI cables (whenever I bring a setup, it's usually my PS3, power cords, and an HDMI), and they both work on my brother's HD flat screen, so I'm kinda stumped on why the monitor says "no cable connected", and won't switch from DVI to HDMI1 or HDMI2 when it's brand new, lol. I'm totally braving Boxing Day crowds tomorrow though so I can pick up XRD and get into that game ASAP. -

Merry Christmas, everyone! I now officially have a BenQ! That...I can't seem to setup to my PS3, woo, lol. -
So pretty much they're both holding back when they fight? I guess my question is if when they don't hold back and "go crazy and kill everyone", will they wind up dying from it eventually?

To be fair, that's a similar reason as to why they did Ryu vs Scorpion, as (while Ryu vs Liu Kang probably would've made more sense) Ryu and Scorpion are the two most iconic characters from the two most iconic fighting game series from back in the day. Similar to how M.Bison vs Shao Kahn was the "big bag" from each of those (even though that was actually kinda one sided). Orchid vs Ivy was hilariously about boobs as the first idea, and....I don't know what the reason for Fulgore vs Sektor was other than to get Fulgore another robot to fight (though even then Boomstick apparently said it should've been Cyrax instead). Chun Li vs Mai Shiranui early on was about stuff like the 2 main female fighters from the two series (I guess?) fighting. Some of the battles Death Battle does now appear to be what's the most requested fight, which is why some matchups seem a bit odd, or like they fall into "we want to put person X into a Death Battle, but who can we have them face?".
-
Well, I don't want to get super into it, but when you have to pretty much show one character at their weakest (since original Superman could destroy solar systems by sneezing, and was always getting new powers randomly made up), versus one character at their absolute strongest to make it seem more fair...yeah. If you want to look at stuff to compare this to, you're probably better off looking at fights like: Taokaka vs Felicia, Orchid vs Ivy, Shao Kahn vs M.Bison, Ryu vs Scorpion, or Sektor vs Fulgore since those are all fights involving 2 people from different fighting games.

I may not know much about Guilty Gear canonical strength, but I have a suspicion that Sol's going to win. I've had this theory for a while now that lately with Death Battle when 2 Fighting Game characters go at it, the one who wins usually has like a newer game coming out, or is coming out with some DLC, etc. It's probably silly to think that, but I dunno.

I heard the PS3/PS4 TE stick thing was game dependent on whether they let it be backwards compatible though, so I dunno really what's up. -
I don't really think the dub is that bad. That being said though, for me it could be because I haven't really played a lot of GG at all, so I'm not used to/attached to a certain character having a certain voice (and also since it's hard for a game to have a dub as bad as the original Star Ocean 2 dub way back on the PS1). Like, I don't think Faust's voice is bad, and I-No's seems fine (even if I think the GG Wiki probably has it listed wrong...but I didn't think Bullet was Erin Fitzgerald at ALL and figured she was Amanda C. Miller or something, so who knows). Hell, even Venom's doesn't seem offensive to me because I don't have 10 years worth of associating a certain voice with him as some people do.
-
For some odd reason I keep expecting Elphelt to have some random "Wild West" hint to her "voice" or "accent" or something, and I have no idea why, or if that would make her awesome or awful.
-
Ohhh, okay. Marie Rose and Chiaki (I've only seen through to the end of the first trial in DR2) actually stuck out to me more than Filia, since I never really played SG.
