  1. What is a "Yomi"?
  2. Yomi Collider? I really am more concerned about the follow-up of a 5A after someone jumps. I'd like to take the 50/50 guessing game and make it a more solid situation that guarantees I'm in an advantageous position. Why not? It always works wonders for me.
  3. What I mean is that after they block 5A, I don't feel like I have a strong follow-up. But I'll try 5C. Will this make a difference even if my opponent is not magnetized? I've had opponents jump before the 720 though; was that just my poor execution? I am mashing pretty hard, haha. I think I'm at the point where I can absorb it. I waited until I had a few hundred matches under my belt to start posting, and I've read everything there is on this forum. I look forward to an updated tech trap list. Can you show me a video of this being put into use? I'm a very visual learner.
  4. Well, I'm glad this is over the internet, then. The more ways I know, the closer I will be to knowing my way. What do I do if my opponent jumps back and blocks? I'm not sure how to follow up from that. Oh wow, you can Bsledge into 4D after AC? I started using 2D partially because Bsledge>GF was too hard for me to do consistently in matches, so I thought it was worthwhile to sacrifice a little damage for consistent execution. Before I discovered 2D, I just used Additional Attack after a BSledge, which sucks, of course. So does Bsledge>4D work against all of the roster after AC? Gotcha. I even successfully RCed 2D for 720C once, and my opponent teched it; I was very sad. I have been varying the timing to mess with my opponent, since a few of them have come to expect it. What do you mean by making the move feint? Cool, I'll start doing that. Should I not use 2A for AA? It seems like that is it's natural role, and I am generally too slow to react to AC/2C against an incoming opponent, but 2A has stuffed a lot of approaches for me thus far. Thanks!
  5. "Free hugs". I like it. Anyway, I'm progressing, and I've gone from having a 5-25 record against my playing partner to 10-10. I still feel like 90% of my wins come from lucky 50/50 guesses after Gadget Finger, though. I've taken to ending combos with 2D instead of Gadget Finger just because it's safer, and then I'll do another 2D into 360 on wakeup, or sometimes I'll Rapid Cancel 2D into a 360. I've come to enjoy Rapid Canceling Magna Tech Wheel into 360B. Yet I feel like all of these are gimmicks that will become stale as my opponents learn them. I also don't really know what to do off of 2A as an anti-air (sometimes I jump and air throw), and I also tend to mash 5A sometimes after a blockstring, but I'm not great at following up afterward with anything; 2B, 2C, AC tends to be unreliable in this situation. Thoughts? Feel free to treat me like a newbie in your responses.
  6. After saving a replay, is there a way to get the data onto a PC for uploading? Maybe a small write-up would be nice for the folks like me who are new to this idea.
  7. Oh, so the Gadget Finger is matchup dependent? Interesting. What do you mean by him doing strange stuff? He seemed very effective to me. I'm still not following the Voltec Charge train of thought. It just seems as though the ability to have that ready to punish is much more valuable than walking forward and blocking normals for 10 seconds. Maybe my opinion will change once PSN is back up and I can play more.
  8. Hello Tagarians, Two noob questions: 1) The player in the below video seems pretty good, but I never see him use Gadget Finger; why is that? (starts ~20 min in): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwsrBQsDZuw 2) Why don't I ever see people use Voltec Charge at long ranges? It seems like half of Tager's game relies on having Spark Bolt as a threat, but most competitive players appear content with walking forward and blocking/getting hit until it's full, and then they make a comeback. Why not skip to the good stuff? Many thanks!
  9. There is a (seemingly) misplaced bracket before "The change list!"
  10. I know how it is; thank you regardless. I would get involved with the local scene, but I'm garbage at the game right now, and I'm actually moving out of Michigan in ~4 months for graduate school - thank you for the link, though!
  11. A.X.I.S., thank you for putting so much information together. I recently purchased this game, and Tager seems a good fit for me for how I like to play; the learning curve is already large enough without also having to play against people who have so much experience. Your threads help me much.
