Interesting. I figured that was why. Thanks for the confirmation. As for the stick, I own one but.. well I enjoy being able to play, I'd hate to not fight my PSN buds while trying to relearn everything, and doing it off and on is bad for your health lol. But I'll persevere, and keep posting for other beginners. This part of the boards is dead.. need to breathe life into our favorite squiggly.

After much much much practice, I'm getting the hang of the IAD.. but it still seems nigh impossible to do it from a j9 when in a neutral state. However, when cancelling j9 from a blockstring (5D, 5B, etc) it seems SO MUCH EASIER. Any reason why? EDIT: Doing it from Super Jump also seems easier. Just posting my findings to give anyone else trouble with this some ground to work on.

Controller. I've successfully done it, but this will be hell to learn and hang on to when I switch characters.
-
Sorry about that, it's even a frequently asked question.. yeesh, I'm glad I'm not the only one with the problem. It's much harder to do with a j9, but really easy with a j7. Except, with the j7, it ruins your spacing.

Thanks for confirming that. I'll check out the frame data then and see if it's there.

Hi everyone, trying to learn Arakune for CSE and whatnot. Question: how do you IAD with him? I can IAD with everyone else in the cast, I honestly thought I was going crazy when I couldn't do it. Is there something special that needs to be done, timing? Something? Thanks!
-
I was on the right track then. Ok! Back to work. Thanks! EDIT: Bwahaha I got the 5C to land! Dropped the combo, because it surprised me, but wow. Didn't know that second j5C had such a large window. The more you know..
-
Thanks you two. But I'm back with another issue. ... > 2CC > IAD > j5CC > 5C > 2CC > ... Right there. Can't get it to land. At all. It's a spacing issue I know. Maybe I should slow down on the second j5C? I'm not too sure. Regardless, my opponent techs every single time. Looking forward to being enlightened on this one.

I can post one up tomorrow if no one else does.

I made sure to read this whole thread before making a post. Hi there, returning to Tsubaki after the frustrating time I had with her in CS1. Long time, I know. My question is, what is the exact timing on the 623C > j214A/B(whiff)? I've done it a total of once in the past hour, and I was so happy that I forgot to complete the combo. When I landed it, the 623C looked noticeably different, but I'm not too sure how it works. A general idea would be fine, should I be a madman and input it as fast as possible or is there a sweet spot where the inputs come together? I guess I should mention I'm on Extend as well. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Surely enough, 15 minutes later, I can now do it 3 out of 5 times. Not perfect, but I'm getting it.. just a matter of getting used to her again. Seems like when you take a break to ask for help, something clicks. Anyway, in case someone else asks, it's immediately when the 623C lands.

I know, which is why I said general tip, but you raise a good point. It's unsafe against a Tager. I was thinking of Makoto when I wrote that.
-
2C is your friend here, but it can be your greatest enemy. Tao has 3 jumps, plan and react accordingly, but when she goes to cross up, that's Tager's time to shine.

I know Rachel is better, I picked her up in CS and couldn't do squat with her, yet when I fight her it's one of the most rage-inducing matches I've ever had the chance to experience. I personally would rather have CT Rachel right now. Does anyone have an inkling of what to do? I'm not losing, but once I lose momentum, I'm in for a beating. Blocking on reaction only takes you so far. She special cancels or has a pumpkin or George ready for her unsafe moves. It's ridiculous. Wind jumping makes sure she can get away from you or avoid magnetism. I could go on but I'm sure others are thinking the same.

2A is the logical response to any of the moves he uses that allow him to change into a wolf (236A, 236C, 6C, etc.) I didn't include 236B because I believe he is too far away to actually be CH'd.

Parry/Space Counter is very strong here. It took me from barely winning/losing ridiculously against xntrikcat to Astraling them every time we fight.
-
Also, watch for Noel's ridiculous reset potential. Constant 6Cs enders can start her corner combo for an easy 3 to 4k damage back to back to back. Barrier guard FOREVER. This is just a general tip, not too much of an issue for our hard Tager skin, but Noel has many safe moves that break guard primers. Be careful if and when you are forced to burst. Being guard crushed as Tager is just embarrassing (not saying it's happened to me, but..).

Just like in CT and CS before it, keep a close eye on Bang's drive. You can cancel most of your moves into a 360/720, causing a throw reject miss.
-
I had a Tager open with 6C against 6B, I got countered and he was Fatal'd. I think 6C catches backdashes so that's something to look out for, even if it's rare.

Jin's 2A is stupidly powerful now. 6A super armor beats his DPs and the ground distortion. The ice slash one. Haven't tested against the 1000 arrows. He's forced to block on wake up or eat damage. Forgive me for not knowing the names of those distortions, but I have never taken Jin seriously other than when I have to fight against him.
-
This matchup is still a nightmare. Her distortions are just too good, and God forbid you're caught in the corner, which is going to happen if she hits you even once.
-
6B seems interesting, but 5A beats that. I find that most Tagers go with 5A or 3C. Looks like Rock, Paper, Scissors for the opening move, with blocking being the equivalent of a tower shield.

Coming from GameFAQs: Tager's Challenge #9 is broken due to magnetism not working during challenge mode. Just thought you all would like to know. If posted, please delete.

You learn a lot more from actually playing than from any video of high level play. I agree with most posts here, especially the one where you play those who are better than you. I played with Heroic Legacy and Lost Soul until we lost touch when I switched accounts. I never could consistently beat their Tagers, but I could at least take rounds. Anyway Learn each and every move. How fast it is, when to use it. That will make it much easier to learn a BnB. I made the mistake of memorizing a BnB for Noel (her Drive) and not knowing how to actually use her. Crippled my game and it's hard for me to make her work now (without pouring in more effort than my other characters) Learn a BnB, practice it until your fingers bleed. Go to training mode, set the A.I. to 100, and practice blocking. Don't retaliate, just block until you're instant blocking everything you can safely. Of course, this is how I learned, you may find a method much better for you. Welcome to the community.

What's the best opener for a match against Tager now? Jumping back is unsafe for the most part, and stepping back is asking to be magnetized.
-
In CT, it took me about a month to consistently win matches with Tager. As I played and started picking up subs, it would only take two to three weeks from printing BnBs to performing them with my eyes closed (exaggeration).
