  1. I didn't see this edit earlier. Nice to meet and fight against you, though I wish I would have done a little better ("I can't block my own character's mixup" ). Also, nice set against Spark in pools. Though you lost it was still really interesting to watch. @Orion: Nice job in your matches, I had to run over and watch every time I heard you were playing casuals with Valk. Wish I would have stepped up and got some casuals against you myself, I'll be at the next NCI though so hopefully I'll catch you there. It was good to see TheBiter get as far as he did in pools, though I was pulling my hair out at the Astral he attemped against Spark.
  2. I'll be up for casuals throughout the day, my pool starts at 2 anyways. I'll be there before 10, and bring my 360 stick this time.
  3. Haha wow, and I thought my 4 hour drive from SoCal was bad enough. Still, I look forward to some games. The only other Valk I've heard of that is coming is TheBiter, and he's in my pool.
  4. I hope I am not telling you something you already know, but that is a corner combo. Generally combos that have 6C in them can only be followed up with 2C either in the corner or within dashing distance of it (they can also be followed with wolf 236A at certain distances, but that is another story). Other than that, try to hit the 3rd 2C as low to the ground as possible in order to make the following air sequence easier to connect.
  5. It looks like most people are bringing PS3's for their setups. Is anyone bringing a 360 on Friday for casual play? It's not a big deal, but I'd like to know if I need to bother bringing an arcade stick for that console or not.
  6. Are any Valks here attending Evo this year? I'll be going, it would be great to have some matches with you guys in person.
  7. I haven't seen this posted anywhere yet. For those of you who aren't aware, you can follow up a counter hit (W)j214A with a human 2C as opposed to a (W)5A. The timing isn't hard to get down and leads to far more damage than an average (W)5A follow up. For midscreen this is about 500 more damage, but in corners this can be far more devastating. Some examples: CH (W)j214A, D, 2C, 5C, sjB, j214B, jD, j236A, j236B, jC, jB, jB, 5B, sjD, jB, djB, jC, Distortion (3604 without Distortion, 4724 with Distortion, 45 meter gain) anywhere After jB, jB: 5B, jB, j3C, jA, D, 5B, Distortion (3495 without Distortion, 4967 with Distortion, 42 meter gain) into corner only CH (W)j214A, D, 2C, 6C, 2C, 6B, 2C, j214B, j2D, 236B, j236A, j236B, jC, jB, jB, 5B, jB, j3C, jA, D, 5B, Distortion (4668 without Distortion, 6140 with Distortion, 50 meter gain) corner only Most people don't use this move too often, but this is probally good to know. Sorry if this has already been covered elsewhere.
  8. They are basically air dashing in wolf form then converting back to human form really fast. Here's an example of the commands for using this to forward dash from standing human form on the left side of the screen: The timing can be hard at first, however once you get used to it this type of movement greatly helps Valk get around the screen.
  9. Yes that works. You can also RC, air dash, revert to human and j.B>j.214B. This doesn't lead to as much damage, but I suppose it is good to know. And the most obvious follow up is Challenge 7: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1KSr6_DCf8 (0:27)
  10. Nice job on the mizuumi page Nick, I've been trying to get into playing Valk seriously and it is helping a lot. Does anyone have some tips for the CS2 challenge 8 combo? I can get to the end where you must j.B > dj. B > j.C but it seems like Valk either doesn't propell high enough, or the dummy recovers before I can land it. I've tried multiple variations on the timing of the prior attacks but still can't get it to work.
