Hey NorCal, what's up! I'm trying to get in touch with anyone in the area interested in getting into the KoF rookie tournament that'll be held on January 4th, a week away! This is open for all unranked players. What that means is if you've never made top 5 at any local tournament or top 16 at any major, you're eligible. The prize pot is $100+ and the location is Milpitas Golfland. Venue is 8 dollars, but that's all you have to pay. Looking forward to seeing people show up!

Hello Dustloop community! As a fighting game community, I'd really like your input on something very important! I'm doing a survey to get a good idea of what viewers and players want out of KOF XIII events. It would allow Tournament Organizers and community leaders a chance to know what you want out of this game to motivate you to play or watch streams. Here is the survey: http://bit.ly/Syp2Cq Please fill it out and share it with everyone you know that might play fighting games, even if they don't play KOF. Thank you again and there's a raffle for a free KOF XIII game to participate in.

KoF XIII stuff going on at GameCenter. Happy hour on steroids, you get to play KoF XIII on free play from 6PM to closing THIS Friday, September 30th, for 5 dollars. That's right. 5 dollars. Not only that, if you've never been to GameCenter, the training mode there is 10 minutes long. The longest training mode in NorCal right now. That. is. awesome! If you've ever wanted to pick up the game, try it out and get good THIS Friday!

@KoF Players: A big event is happening this Sunday at Southtown Arcade in San Francisco concerning KoF XIII. I can't tell you what exactly it is, but my guess is it has something to do with the console release coming up. If you like the game, thinking about the game a little, or just never got a chance to play it, you should come down on the 18th at 447 Stocton Street. If not, you can always watch the ranking battles online at IPW. Either way, whatever happens, I hope you get to see it!

This Sunday is "Training day" at SouthTown Arcade! Every game, EVERY GAME is ONE QUARTER, 25 CENTS! Get MEGA HYPE! Denzel Washington says to GET good at SSFIV:AE, KOFXIII, Blazblue, Gundam vs. Gundam Next, and especially MvC3! Don't waste this sunday at home. Get those FIGHT gloves on and get good at Southtown!

Just a reminder! KoF Ranking Battles are this Sunday at Southtown! If you're interested in meeting new people, even some from SoCal, be sure to stop by around 1 at Southtown Arcade. There's also Marvel 3 and SFIV:AE tournaments going on so don't be late! Oh, and food! Dollar hotdogs at a tournament is super awesome!

@Kof peeps: If you guys are cool with it, there's space on Sundays to run the ranbats. It might be possible to get the stream on iPlayWinner just like AE and MvC3. If you're not okay with Sunday, please let me know otherwise I will change it to Sunday. As it stands, it is still scheduled for Friday (like Rebecca Black, wink wink). Let me know asap.

I know that a lot of people who play BB might enjoy the Type B more because it's what they're used to. I have talked to them and they'll see how it works. Truth be told, they weren't sure it even did have a second button layout. I think if they just add the button, the game will recognize it, but I'm not a machine specialist so I can't say for sure. Would be glad to see you stop by or play at the tourny!

Hey everyone, just going to give a rundown on how the King of Fighters XIII Ranking Battles will work out. The first week starts on July 8th at 5 PM. Registration will open at 4 PM. I suggest that you pre-reg by going to the arcade as the entry fee increases. The entry fee is 5 dollars, 7 if you pay the day of. The tournament payout is 70/20/10 percent for first, second, third respectively. 3 dollars goes to the pot for each entrant. Prizes are awarded based on ranking at the end of the season so constant participation is encouraged. The tentative end time is 10. It's double-elimination, best 2 out of 3 straight through. Brackets are seeded randomly and are posted on challonge.com. You may only switch your team after every match. When you win/lose, you can choose to play someone different for the next fight. More will be posted once Southtown arcade gets it up. I look forward to seeing many of you there!

Hey everyone, Just dropping by a few things. Southtown Arcade ranking battles are in just two weeks! The first summer season will include SSFIV:AE, MvC3, and a late arrival: KoFXIII! Please be sure to check out their website for more details. However, that's not what I came to ask. If you are a KoF player in Norcal and would like to get in on ranking battles, please let me know what day is good for you to attend. This is your chance to dictate the terms of your fights so be sure to represent yourself fairly! For the sake of sanity, please exclude the weekends because it's unlikely the staff could run two ranking battles in the same day. Hope to hear from everyone soon on that. Bring your A game, there are some good players who could take the top! Also, for Melty Blood players, we'll be running a tutorial session for new players and a gathering for people to play at Southtown Arcade and Game center. Game Center is a new arcade that opened up in San Mateo and features LCD screens that can be used to play anything as long as you bring your own set-up. The buy in will be 5 dollars per person for the use of the PS2 and we'll be playing MBAA. I hope to see some people interested in playing a great game show up to our event! More will be posted later on this. Thanks again!

Please do! They're gonna get tournaments going so you'll soon get to see some competitions that don't have to be done at someone's house. Ranking battles will likely be single-elimination, but regular tournaments (if they get really big), will likely be double elimination. Other than that, drop in and play just to play. I'd be glad to see more people drop in the arcade to play against.

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if anyone has stated this, but a Blazblue: Continuum Shift 2 arcade machine has been installed in Southtown Arcade in San Francisco. It's not a PS3 to arcade cabinet but the actual board for the arcade. As far as I know, that's very rare! It's .50 cents a play and uses an HD monitor to make the most of the stunning graphics of the game. I hope to see some of the Blazblue community show up and play the game at the arcade! For more information about the arcade, you can check it out at their website at http://www.southtownarcade.com or you can just add them on facebook and twitter. Ranking battles will begin soon, which will most likely lead with MvC3 and SSF IV: AE, but BBCS2 won't be far behind!

I'm not sure if this has already been stated, but a new arcade opened in San Francisco called "Southtown Arcade". STA's owner told me he'd be up to get MB:AA:CC if there was some interest from the community in the area. I've asked in the Melty Blood thread and I'd like to see who would be up to support it. If there's enough support, he'll definitely get the machine. I'm really digging for some support so please let me know what you think! Here's the link to their website: South Town Arcade

I'm not running the arcade, but I do appreciate your opinion and insight. I'll admit that I really want to be selfish. I would like to play Current Code at an actual arcade in my area. It is sad to hear that there aren't many interested in it because the system doesn't seem as different from the console version, but I'll continue to advocate for it as an option. I know, stubborn and bullheaded, but there's a chance so I want to take it. Aside from that, assuming Southtown Arcade does get it, I would just like to know who in the NorCal community would check it out and play. I did scan a little around the Misc Fighters section and I couldn't find a regional Melty Blood thread. Could anyone please point me in the right direction? I don't want to bother anyone with my requests...

At this point, I feel they're considering the game strongly so it's a good possibility it will come. I talked to the owner a few times and he would be down to get the game definitely if there were atleast 20 people interested in playing the game. That's not including randoms who would drop in. I've also heard talk of .75 cents being the fee for a game. I know it's a niche game and niche games don't, on average, earn a lot of money, but they're throwing the bone; they have interest in it. That's why I'm going to multiple forums and talking to everyone I know to get them to give it a shot and the owners to take a chance. Also, yes, I am one of the people who played at Oscar's place when he had sessions there. We've never met, but if we succeed, I hope to meet you at Southtown!

This is a big shout-out to those that are in the Norcal (California) region. Melty Blood players, I really need some help here. A new arcade opened up in the heart of San Francisco and it's considering putting in MB:AA:CC. They'd consider it if there were people interested in playing the game that spoke up. Now's the time to do it. I can't recall any place in Northern California that is willing to get the game. The name of the new arcade is Southtown Arcade. It's located at 447 Stockton Street, San Francisco, California. They've got charismatic and talented individuals. I'd really like a place to play the latest game. If there are any Northern Californian people reading this, please coordinate with me or just contact them. Let them know you're interested! Thank you very much! P.S. To other Melty Blood players, thank you for your patience in reading it even if you're not in the area.
