  2. It was mostly not confirming 2C starters and adding pointless "A's" in combos. That Litchi was really not having that tao mash shit as he was playing on point.
  3. Agreed, however it's important to maintain threads fresh, organized, and optimal. Rather than have the 20 combos you can do off a 2A; keep the ones that give the most damage, meter and options for oki.
  4. The combo thread is fine, If you look at other character forums they have already began to discuss combos and combo theory in their respective threads. I feel this adds to the general hype of the game and once they optimal stuff comes out we can just make a new combo thread and archive the old one. We should use the combo thread as more of a discussion thread about what we think would work based on the changes we confirm. By learning from each others ideas we can begin to understand the direction in which her combos are going and aim to further optimize our meter gain and damage. Most Japanese players don't go for optimal damage, a perfect example is Matoi and kinji who notoriously did less damage than tetsu and tsujikawa in extend.
  5. Yes, because J.4D is now 2 hits instead of just one. The first hit brings them down with you and the second hit pushes them towards the corner.
  6. lol I was just about to respond to that post. In all actuality he did it to style because I saw people still ending with encore even after a double 2A starter and still getting decent damage. That combo really shows how fast 236C is now. It could have been a good overhead...
  7. Encore is amazing because when you sacrificed the damage for oki in EX you got like 2.4K at best for a ground tech and real oki options (Corss Under, IAD, fake cross under, etc.). You could get 3K, but then you would have to let your opponent tech low to the ground and it just wasn't as effective. Something interesting I saw was either encore being barrier canceled on whiff or 2B being barrier canceled on whiff in match not to long ago. It was a really funky way to get under an opponent above you and recoverd really fast. CP has heeded my demands and is now punishing the VERMIN that use 236C as an overhead, can't do manly hit confirms and use terrible colors.
  8. Changes I have seen so far. -Fully Charged 5C forces standing -The first hit of 236C is now a mid (stay free XDest) -6C wall sticks -Counter Assault is now 2C -Air Super is gdlk
  9. Satsuno (Taokaka) vs Kawata (Hazama) Satsuno (Taokaka) vs Teru(Hakumen) Satsuno ( Taokaka) vs Shirushi (Jin) Tao's combos are fucking godlike right now. Also the corner oki and new cat spirit RC stuff is going to be insane. *EDIT: Matoi handling the business and using j.4D in combos.* Matoi (Taokaka) vs Pet (Azrael) Matoi (Taokaka) vs Galileo (Litchi)
  10. I think her average damage is going to be lower due to it being way harder confirming of random hits (less hit stun). However her damage output off pressure strings will be much higher. Overall Matoi has a 86% win ratio with her and is 7th Dan with a max combo damage of 5.6K. Tao is fine and the only nerf CP gave her was losing Tetsu ;_;
  11. The top Dan player is Zekusou Valk with a 96% win ratio and a max damage combo of like 6K. Not to mention there are 4 other Valk players between 5th-6th Dan with equally high win ratios. I'm confident that Valk is still one of the top characters in the game and is out there raping faces. As for his wolf gauge it takes a lot longer for it to go down so the recharge thing is kinda cancelled out.

  13. The combos I saw after throws were garbage that you do for Day 1. Even if that is somehow optimal getting 3.6 for doing basically nothing isn't so bad I suppose. I'm just stuck on thinking what her corner combos are going to look like and if it is possible to get anything after a high CH j.D, counter hit j.2B in the air and j.c in the air.
  14. What happened to all of Taokaka's terrible colors from Extend? THEY GOT REMOVED AND HER COLORS GOT BUFFED!!!!
  15. Nah that Tao mashed B cancel like it was the holy grail.Even against that Litchi that mashed 2A like a bigger beast IB'ed B cancel and mashed 2A and still lost to Tao mashing afterwards. The first time I saw Tao's 2C CA it trades. I guess that's a start...

  17. All colors besides 10 is mine. Tao players can all eat double dicks and pay pal MM if they want permission to use the other colors.

Corner combos are not the problem.....the true problem is the P2 gods of the game and the characters that don't believe in proration *cough* (Bang, Valk,Arakune,lambda,MU,) @Ayashii/Haven/Scam/Hollow fagget/KOL on YT/6CJinScrub- Work on your yomi!!!! @Scrub- Your Bang has real try hard pants, consider switching mains to a good character, fuck a jin.

Actually kuro was asking about having another perspective in the commentary to make it more broader and universal rather than it just being "hey this is how you play Jin mirrors" (Your usage of the word critical was properly used in the sentence, but the wrong situation). On the topic of knowing characters, it really boils down to experience and understanding the universal principles of how the game works. Understanding how characters work isn't something that takes an abundant amount of intelligence. In all honesty it just takes common sense. I commend using Rachel as an example, but lets be honest when was the last time she won anything in a outside of netplay? Unfortunately Arakune isn't the best example to use due to the fact that no amount of understanding of how he works will change the fact that he can kill approximately 78% of the cast in the first curse combo alone on average. Finally Mix up is mix up; your not suppose to be able to block it easily, generally your suppose to make it harder to block in order to hit your opponent. Having access to things like ambiguous cross ups, Teleport feints, 3 lows/2 over heads on the ground, Corner specific unblockables, etc. you really can't blame anyone for having terrible defense against something of that caliber.

Also when are we gunna do a sonic 2006 speed run challenge =] @ Herbal Grey- Not sure if your aware of this, but your choice of words makes it impossible to validate your argument. You do not need to play a character to understand how they work because if that were the case then it be impossible to learn a match up due to being unable to understand the opposing character since you don't play them. On another note not all commentary needs to be informative. Being able to keep your audience entertained and interested in what is going on in the match is as equally important. Not to mention feeding a chunk of opinionated/useless/unconfirmed/etc.information is pointless as the listener will be unable to fully process the information while enjoying the match. Scrub in the future just make spectator slots for more people, sign on skype, start a call with other players and just use that for commentary. If you need to focus; simply mute the volume of the call and just let other people commentate for you, Sharing their perspective on given match ups and situations. Plus Skype call commentary is just gold.

  24. The problem is that you have to delay the rising J.b on certain members of the cast, No delay-Tager, Bang, Arakune, Hakumen,Valkenhayn,Relius Does not work on- Makoto, Lambda, Carl, Platinum, Noel, Taokaka Delay rising j.B on- Jin, Mu, Ragna, Tsubaki, Hazama,Rachel
