  1. Well, one way I look at it is like so: Since this game is going to be on Sega's RingEdge 2, it'll be a game inevitably competing against ASW's "other game" on the Taito X2/NESiCA, no matter what. So with that said? I don't think ASW really has to worry about giving BBCP "its space", since Xrd is looking to be the closest thing that Sega has to a "killer app" for the RingEdge 2 at the moment. And Sega will likely want the game out sooner rather than later.
  2. Honestly? A greater part of me hopes that 4r5's assertion that they've been working on Xrd for around 4-5 years may mean that the localization details are either a) have been handled by AkSys already or b) Aksys are actively working alongside ASW to ensure a swift and competent localization. ...It's nice to dream. But still, I'd like to think that they already had a subtitled trailer ready at Arc Fest meant something.
  3. Or Atlus. Atlus would make sure that there would be a spiffy collector's edition. One of my hopes from their P4A/U and KOF escapades is that Atlus would be willing to take more chances on localizing more fighting games that otherwise wouldn't see localization at all. And since UNIB's consumer version is supposed to have a v-novel-esque story mode, they'd be perfect for the job.
  4. Possibly the best thing about them working with 3D models this time? They could stand to do both of that. "Preorder now, and UNLOCK the UNBRIDLED POWER OF SOL in his TRUE GEAR FORM*!!!" (Superscriptese subtext: "This is really just an EX Costume for Order Sol with a different voice pack. But we're trusting you're not reading that close enough to see that.")
  5. Oh, of course. But I'd be surprised if they waited on that a bit until the PS4 (and XBone?) have had some time to develop an audience (or at least, until ASW had a better idea of if their target audience had gotten around to buying one or the other a few years in). Xrd port for PS4/XBone before Mori's new PS4-level game was ready to be ported from arcades? I could see that.
  6. Well, we got confirmation that it's UE3. Direct from one of the Epic personnel themselves... - https://twitter.com/danacowley/status/337573729095790594 And the picture is the same Sol sprite comparison thing that has made the rounds. If we combine that with 4r5's tidbit: That would do plenty to put this in line with Ishiwatari's earlier statements from like 3-4 years ago where he said that he "intends to make a GG game for PS3/360", among others.
  7. *blows layers of dust off account* I don't even think that much is necessary, here. In fact, there's basically two things I can imagine being changed around to account for a GG game being made in the current era: 1) Input timing not being as strict as before (as this will be the main thing necessary to have GGXrd play nicely with ASW's current netcode) and 2) Adequate tutorials (judging by BB, this shouldn't an issue to implement, either) Not everybody who may stand to pick up this game is going to have a competitive mindset, that much is true. But I would think that as long as ASW does their part to make the game fun and has most of its intricacies broken down and laid out plainly for the consumption of anyone who wants it? There shouldn't even be a "need" to compromise but so much.
  8. Awesome... I'm liking the looks of this particular title. They need only to announce what arcade board, and (more to the point) what console it stands to be ported to, and I will make the necessary things happen to make sure this game is in my future.
