  1. KOF. Steam. Awesome netcode. GO. ADD ME ON STEAM. arson_ist !! <3
  2. *Hopping up and down* Oo, oo I wanna play, I wanna play! I play Kim. He's not hard. Hopefully I'll have leveled up considerably in KOF after Season's Beatings. I do believe we're rooming with Juicebox so I'm sure Bala and the Answer will be hanging with us and we'll get plenty of casuals in. Got lots of questions.
  3. It's just that the admiration is way overboard in many cases. I don't care what other people want to do, but I just think the FGC would be way better off if people thought for themselves. Nothing wrong with admiring someone for whatever, people do that with everything. I just don't like the attitudes it brings to the community. Taking into consideration is fine, but people tend to gobble down anything and everything top players say. Also, I'm not at all new to the FGC, just anime fighters and dustloop. Exactly my point. People are more concerned with watching streams and doing what top players are doing than playing games. If you visit eventhubs, you might remember around when AE 2012 came out, literally every other news post was talking about who Daigo uses. Woo.
  4. Where have YOU been? Seriously, Cookeville could have 15 man gatherings but people ain't come to stuff. That's fighting game players mentality. Its pretty sad, I know. No disrespect to anyone but people nuthug on top players hardcore. I remember Season's Beatings one year I'm sitting on a couch next to Daigo and some random asshole is like " Yo dude... Look. Who. Is. Next. To. You. " I rolled my eyes and just wanted to say " Yeah, some asian guy with a fanny pack who plays video games more than most people work a job. " That's all great, and he's a great player like tons of other people and I respect that for what it is. That doesn't mean I get them to sign my sticks and act like an ass. Part of the reason for top player cliques that annoy people are because of the fanboyism is just sad. Also, top players can be wrong. Just because someone is really good at a game doesn't mean their opinion isn't dumb and biased as all hell. Not talking about anyone in particular, definitely not LK, its just what Naimat said made me chime in< but I'm just talking about in general. Also, anyone from midtn looking to go to season's beatings? My caravan might have a spot.
  5. Chandler - What's the converter of yours? The little small one that looks like a flash drive? Used it for 360>PS3 yesterday and it was -amazing-. Definitely buying one. I'll buy if off you, if you're selling it. If not I'd just like to know how to get one.
  6. Barffffffffffff!! I can only make persona? Why not KOF last... I mean, you know, the three man round robin, that is? fml
  7. Yeah, I meant to mention this. This sort of thinking is called the 'new school' I guess, but yeah, basically in this game people using anchors that aren't just good with meter. For example, Ex Iori is a great anchor because not only is his HD combo easy as shit, ( His most viable damaging one is to just activate, fireball, super and neomax ) he's also still good without meter. Kim is also an amazing anchor. Can turtle, is scary on offense, and has easy HD, and doesn't need much meter to hurt you.
  8. Yeah you're right about anchor to anchor, it can be kind of dumb, but.. I mean, that's not the whole match. Its not like the whole game shifts because of HD, because that's usually not the case. Making a reverse OCV comeback is SO fucking hard, HD or no. ESPECIALLY to get to anchor vs anchor while having any meter. If you can kill the first two characters with your anchor and still have enough meter for a death combo, then you deserve to get that death combo because you've been outplaying your opponent to get yourself into that situation. HD usually just shifts the last round. If you use HD to kill the first or second character, it's almost always ( in a match between two equally skilled players ) going right back to even. You used all of your meter to get a leg up, but now they have a new character and a nice bit of meter, and know that a good portion of the damage they take, they will get back if they win quickly. And yeah, the game overall would be waayyyyy different and worse without HD. It would be slower, and the tier lists would be crazy different. The top tiers would all be even better and some characters would be practically worthless. To be fair, the game would obviously would be designed differently without HD mode... but I mean, this is definitely the most balanced KOF so far, so that should say something for the HD and drive systems.
  9. Yeah I would like it less if it actually was Marvel, where I just do ABC like three times and you're dead. If you get hit and killed by an HD, you deserved that shit. It wasn't like you got hit with some crazy unblockable BS and killed with no effort. I like it because unlike in almost all of the other games I can think if, meter is actually -important-. In some matchups, as important as life.
  10. I think you should just try other characters. The reason you don't like HD mode is because you're playing characters that really just aren't that good with it. Mature doesn't need it, Duo doesn't need it, and Kensou has a wonky weird HD combo thing, and he's also a shitty anchor. I started with Duo Lon, Ash and Elisabeth. I realized quickly that even though I like Ash as a character, he's the least fun ever to play, and too hard for me, especially for return. I don't like Duo Lon either, I only play him because he's good and people hate him. I started with those three and thought I'd never want to play anyone else, then I switched to Flayme Lori and Saiki, realized they were awesome and played them... but now I don't care for Saiki and prefer Claw over Flame. Claw is actually by far my favorite character in like ANY game.. and until months into the game, I didn't even notice he was in the game. I also put a ton of work into Kyo and loved him for a long time but now I'm not into him. I play Kim now and he's probably the scariest character on my team ( Shinblade thinks so, anyway ) and I never even considered him until a couple of months ago, I just messed with him because Reynald makes him look fun and now I wouldn't dream of playing a team in tournament without him.
  11. No offense here bruh, but I haven't even seen you give King a sideways glance since Persona came out. I asked your roommate how much he's been practicing with you since like, that first persona tournament when I first played him in King, and he says he hasn't at all. I mean, set me straight if I am wrong, because I would love to be. I do get what you're saying and all, because it is completely true. Everyone does it, and I don't get it. All I can say is, not to sound like a douche, but there absolutely WILL NOT be a Tekken scene in MidTN. If in a month you think you're going to come to a 12 man TTT2 tournament without memphis or out-of-stater's, you're dreaming. That game is going to drop like a bag of hammers. The people who do try to play it ( Jason, Pat ) have better things to do and better games to play than completely dead games, so it won't last. Being a pessimist here, but it's all true. Unless a scene comprised completely of people from outside the anime and streetfighter sides of the scene shows, or something else crazy... yeah. If you want to do what I do with King, and play with only like 3 people, grind your ass off, then go to as many bigger tournaments and majors and grind your ass off at those, and you can and hope you can get good that way, go for it. Memphis Tekken is sick and there's a couple scattered people that still play, couple from Knoxville, Dimo, etc.. So you can get good. You'll just be a little hamstrung without matchup and in-person play diversity.
  12. Maybe those people decided to play with other people like.. in person. Crazy fuckin' idea. LOL. Also, I've got a sick ride and room to Season's Beatings. Can't wait. Too bad nobody good from TN is going to be able to rep Tennessee p4u. At least I don't think anyone else is going from TN besides my little group and Ragingravenz? Raginravenz is actually a pretty darn good Yu player but he's being emo and not wanting to play because he "isn't good enough". Makes no sense. That mentality never fucking makes sense to me. " I mean I like the game, but I won't you know, do that good. " Oh, I didn't realize you were in the money for all the other games you were in. Derp. I don't want to get better the best way possible: go to and play in tournaments.
  13. Tekken is hard as fuck. Way too hard for a game that has no mid-TN scene. I would play if I lived in Memphis, but short of that, no thankz.
  14. Psshhh.. Thinking for yourself? As if! I need tier lists and top players to tell me how and what to play, and give me my opinions. As much as I like to tier whore, P4U really is pretty darned balanced and well made. All the bitching and theory fighter is fun but surely it gets old after a while. Never understood why people don't just try to figure stuff out rather than lash out about it.. If that doesn't work, switch characters. No shame in that, IMO. Better than losing constantly and having no fun. Gets you burned out, and pretty soon not only are you not winning, you're not growing, and pretty soon you've stopped playing ( in some cases ). You would think the way half of the people talk about their characters, they are having a gun held to their head, being forced to play the character. I personally think this game is going to change a ton with the tiers. There's plenty of characters with loads of undiscovered potential, though like Bishop said, I think Aigis is the best and will be hard to dislodge from that spot. Not only does she have near everything, she has incredible damage AND potential.. Not like Yu, who just has good everything, but is fairly straightforward and more discovered.
  15. Any chance you are swinging near Cookeville? I can drive somewhere nearby and meet you maybe? Definitely want to make it to bama.
  16. Yeah I'll be at that Season's Beatingz too. Don't wanna miss no good ol' TN action.
  17. Yo-oh I am so in that fucking KOF. The soul of Seoul is gonna axe kick the fuck out of someone. SO HYPE. Needs to be promoted like crazy. I need to quit trolling on SF4 and just practice. $500 is a nice chunk of monies.
  18. I prefer Pokemanz style. With the pokey and the man. I think it is a waste of time to make A's play A's and B's play B's, and its less hype. Final Round 11 was 3v3's me Chris Brown and Shawn McCool, and we just took turns being on point and each OCVed the first three teams. Stuff like that makes it a ton of fun to me, to be able to ocv or reverse ocv a team, and it is also much faster. People getting up, switching sticks etc... Its a hastle. I understand that it is more fair or whatever, and everyone gets to play... But I had way more fun at Final Round 10 just cheering on Jacob Ford ocving every team than I did actually playing. If I have a teammate good enough that I don't have to work, then that's awesome to me, or to be the person just cutting down an entire team. Too fun.
  19. GG'z and shoutouts to errrrrrrrrrrbody at the 18th tournament. Was a ton of fun. It did take all day.... but I mean, I guess I'm just used to that. Unless a tournament is run by Jason, usually it can take a while. I think the real problem was just not running teams early and quickly enough. Teams could have been 90% done by the time singles started. It was mostly just casuals, which need to be halted completely until tournaments are winding down. This was like, first big tournament and pretty much everyone was wanting casuals in P4A so I don't think anyone was going to be too strict on that. It was nobody's fault, it was just a kind of general atmosphere of chillin', illin' and videogamin'. If you got shit to do, just say something and I'm sure milln would have moved it along, bitching at people like me more to play my 6 matches in each game LOL. Naimat - Good shit playing Cay-Oh-Eff. That game is too legit and I'm glad you ain't giving up on it and getting discouraged like so many others. Keep playing Mr. K, also switch out Shen for Kyo. Then you'll have my old/secondary team. Karate, Kyo and Kim. Too strong. You're doing good though, its just like you said, you need them long sets. Start watching vids. I know you don't like to, but it really does help. Gives you ideas and helps you understand footsies and mindgames in the KOF setting. Chandler - Da fuq you talking about, me and Graham play all of the time, like 5-6 times a week usually. Hit me up on XBL even. Good shit in P4U. Narukami is so underrated. Milln - Good shit in P4U and KOF. Thanks for hosting and running the tournament. Yosuke is a doucher. Just saying. You think about that. Billy - Make a Yosuke costume. You're the only person tall and skinny enough. Just make sure to have the dumbest looking hair and glasses so you get that authentic Yosuke look. Also his persona looks dumb. He's dumb. Tad - Good shit winning gear and entering KOF. Glad you still like KOF and are into P4U. We need to get some KOF games in. Also shoutouts to Milln's roommate... Fucking cannot remember his name because I can't remember shit ever. Don't know if you lurk or post here, but either way, GGs in KOF. Never played you in my life, and then you nearly OCV'ed me with Athena in the first game. I definitely want to get more games in. Good stuff to everyone else, still meeting and getting to know people. I didn't play much P4U because I was more focused on KOF as usual.
  20. That Jiyuna guy is fucking annoying. Cocky, whiny and annoying. Good player, but full of shit.
  21. Yeah, you're right, but I don't care. KOF rules, Persona drools. Not really, Persona is awesome, just frustrating. I said the same thing about KOF. KOF just has more and awesomer characters that I can go to when low tier was too hard to win with *sadface*. I p2w, son. You anime fighter players is good people. Glad Persona sorta merges different scenes together better than KOF and Blazblue did.
  22. Saturday is going to suck. Oh oh oh, oh oh oh and two for meeeeeee Training mode is like homework in this game. Practicing in KOF is fun. Hope it gets easier to make myself practice once I get better.
  23. Sorry broseph I think me and Graham " I don't watch porn, I am porn " Tate are teaming. Team with Eugene. He plays kanji. ZzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzz Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
  24. You mean guard cancel attack? That thing is beyond useless. You just have to burst when you are in trouble and he can bait it so easily. And yeah I agree about her persona. It can be very good but for the most part it just seems like a big dumb gimmicky guess every time you call it against top tier. Good rewards but you are also easy to break and helpless without it. I don't like bitching so much and I would normally just pick someone else but I dont really like any other character lol. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
