Have you looked up modding it? It would depend on what model you have.. When I took mine to pieaces I found out hwat was wrong so I recommend if you have the tools, take it too bits cheack then decide on what would be a better choice replace the parts or buy a new stick but this time I would recommend buying a new stick instead..

The only probelm is getting down there since it would have to be a weekend and I would have to make it worht while.. But hopefully I could make it down in the summer sometime but I'll need more practise 'till then. :D
