Anyone have new 5D tech? Other than j.D reset, after 5C (1), 2C OMC, or 5B, I dunno what else to do with 5D lol.

Well, it depends, I suppose. If Naoto is feared, I try to do some sort of yomi grab setup into a corner combo for massive damage. Other than that, I know 2C beats rolls, so if the person is a habitual roller, you can 2C them for a lot of damage as well. You can always do a reset if you do like b.bufu > 2C > sb.Zio > 5C and then j.D when they tech.

Do you guys think anyone would benefit from a "combo tutorial"-esque video? I've recorded all of the combos from the thread sans 2, and I was thinking of putting them together for those that need visual reference, I suppose. Sony Vegas is being ass, and won't playback the clips, but I can still use Windows Movie Maker, so it's all good (albeit, the quality of video will be a tad lower).

Not sure if this counts as a "trick", but you can use Mind Charge to safely get cards back.

FC combo does like 6.5k IIRC. I don't remember about the other one, but it's only 1-2k less.

From what I've done myself, off of corner 5D, I've done: 5D FC > 5B > sweep > d.garu > 2A > 5B > sweep > d.garu > 2A > 5B > 5C > 2C > b.Bufu > AOA > OMC > Memento mori. On regular 5D: 5D > 5B > sweep > d.garu > 2A > 5B > 5C > 2C > b.bufu > super ender. You can opt to replace the super enders with b.bufu x2 > j.c or 2C > Sb.Zio.

More like I'd be the one getting desperate. I hate that match-up. Kanji gets in my face, and I cry a little on the inside.

Elizabeth's instant kill doesn't active if the opponent is at neutral after the three hits are countered. For example, if Yukiko does 5C, but she's not pressing buttons/moving, the IK won't activate.

Doesn't Liz totally poop on Yukiko? We can A.Zio fans, and beat out maragi with EX maragidyne, or Zio. The only issue with Yukiko is that her doing Dia from full screen forces Liz to run up and do the dumb stuff. I forgot about S.Lab (I don't really play against this character), but I agree with Diveman. I think from a character perspective, it's pretty fair. It's just that I suck at blocking tricky stuff, and I get demolished almost every time.

So I've taken some interest in Yu, and decided I want to learn to play with him. With that being said, what are some of his good blockstrings/okizemes? Is his oki game just based around 5D?

Imo, the Yu/Mitsuru/Yosuke match ups are the hardest. Akihiko can be somewhat of a pain in the ass if he's pressuring really hard.

I only played one Liz mirror match before today. I ran the gauntlet, it's like every Liz on XBL came out of the wood work today.

I never realized how much yomi went into a Liz mirror match. Especially when you both meet the conditions for a Mortal Blow.
