You can go to tournaments without actually entering anything. You would still have to pay the venue fee though afaik. I went to ECT last year and I think the venue fee might have been $30-40. I don't really remember off the top of my head. So yeah, if $30 to play some casuals for the weekend sounds good to you, then go for it. I also see that you live in New Jersey. I don't know how close you are to NYC but if you have some reasonable way to get to NYC then I would suggest that you hit up a TSB sometime, especially since you play Xrd. The level of play is excellent there.

P4U is a very "wild" game for the lack of a better term. You can "rob" people of games since the damage is incredibly high off of a lot of confirms and some people would argue that the game is RPS heavy in many situations. For example, Narukami can combo off of CH DP and get hilarious damage (you can even do an easy unoptimal combo for 5.5-6k lol). There's also the infamous Persona Special where even if you bait and block the opponent's DP, they can cancel it into a reversal (and even if you block that they can rapid cancel it for another 50 meter anyway) and get like 3k damage on you. I mean, sometimes you just never stop rolling the dice in this game and as a result you can develop habits that only work to let you rob people in this game. I'm also curious as to what you mean by "auto combo habits." Do you mean just using auto combo instead of learning optimal combos or something? After seeing how awful auto combos are, I'm sure anyone would want to learn actual combos. The extra normals like 5AA are pretty convenient for hitconfirming with most characters though!

A P1-P2 DLC song pack would be pretty awesome imo. This game has a lot of good music from P3/P4, so why not throw music from the other 3 Persona games in as well? I know this game features some remixes from P1 (Persona, Time Castle, & Snow Queen iirc), but the original songs are good too. I think these songs are well suited for a fighting game: Bloody Destiny from P1 Pandora, the Last Battle from P1 Night Queen from P1 Knights of the Holy Lance from P2IS Quest Battle from P2IS You could even throw in some songs for the lobby/menu too lol: School Days from P1 Sumaru TV from P2EP Map I from P2EP

Rock paper scissors; RPS just refers to a situation where you're forced to guess more or less.

The above posts are good, but I would just like to add. No one mentioned it but watching videos/replays is a really good way to level up. Watching good players can give you an idea of things you should/shouldn't be doing. It's not enough to just watch though; it helps if you try to understand why good players choose to do X action in A situation. I also feel like it's good to watch your own replays so you can get a sense of what you need to actually improve on. Watching your own matches lets you see what you're getting hit by, or what situations you're really shaky in. I would also implore you to use the recording function in training mode. It's really good. If watched some replays and noticed that you're getting blown up in a specific situation, recreate it with the record feature. You can record a Mitsuru blockstring, for example, and play it back to see if there are any ways your character can deal with it. This goes for anything really: you can experiment with neutral options you find difficult to overcome, setups that seem hard to get out of, etc. It's better than trying to figure out a lot of stuff on the fly during an actual match. Lastly, I would suggest that you try to get familiar with the other characters in the game. While mastering your own character is important it's almost equally important to familiarize yourself with the other characters. Knowing their options is important (like Heavymetalmixer said) but it kinda goes beyond that I feel. It kinda helps to understand the thoughts behind the options, too. I feel like getting intimate with the other characters helps you in this regard. Of course, ultimately, what one does with their character is up to them, but being somewhat familiar with the mindset of playing the character is always good. Apologies if this post feels all over the place.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this MU. On the one hand, it's really hard for Liz to do much of anything in neutral/on defense, but once she gets started, Ken has to hold all of it. I would say this MU is bad for Liz, though I'm not sure if I would say it's as bad as the Yosuke MU or something. Neutral is really silly. Once Ken throws Koromaru out, I find it really hard to do much of anything (outside of awakening). Our usual neutral options (ie IAD back jB,etc) seem to be so hot against Ken. There are situations where Koromaru is left next to Liz, and throwing a zio/agi or something will get you counterhit. At fullscreen, I think 5C(1) backdash might be the best way to punish Koro. Once you're on defense, your rolls have to be on point; if you roll Ken's spear, for example, and Koromaru isn't in recovery, you're going to get punished. Conversely, if you win neutral and get Ken in the corner, you can take the game easily. Ken's DP isn't spectacular, and you can stay at a range where you can deal with it safely. I think Liz really needs to be in awakening to make this MU easier, though. Awakening SB Zio is amazing since it hits the dog a bunch and you're able to run in. The faster Agi helps too. I would agree with Panckez in that Garu isn't really useful in this MU. Also, you can't use Randomizer on Koromaru, you have to use it on Ken. If you use it on Koromaru, Ken is able to block the followup & punish you .
