  1. If there's anyone still hiding out there from the Albany area that plays we use a facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/206923676041023/ . We might have a decent scene for P4U and I use to play BB/MB will be playing BB3 (like 3-4 other ppl in the group play too). Anyways the scene is mostly marvel players and prolly a lot of tekken soon. So if you're an anime player hiding come join the group so we have enough players for anime games so locals for them last more than a few weeks . We play at a video game store in troy on thursday nights. Info is in FB group. Trying to get p4u at the next dustbowl but it seems most of upstate ny doesn't play anime or the anime players don't come out cause the games are not there.
  2. I like the idea in terms of not having to rely on EVO to pick our game but I personally don't like MLG at all. They pick up and throw away games like dirty hookers. Just being a long time fps player makes me hate them honestly lol. Between having crappy console fps games instead of pc games and buying the biggest NA CS site just to let it die has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Its also hard to show up to MLG events. A lot of them are in the middle of no where (although its gotten better in recent years) and its not like many ppl in the anime scene are sponsored. Who wants to fly to NC or Ohio for one game if you're just a middle of the pack player? I think this community would have attendance problems like kof did. Them adding the game could just make us look bad again if a lot of extra players aren't picked up by this game. EVO staff and other tourney organizers will be like oh look anime players not supporting their game again...
  3. there isnt a BB facebook group. Theres just a FG group thats mostly capcom players moons/lijoe etc. The people that play at FNC http://www.facebook.com/groups/172079346172816/
  4. ~Name: Jason ~Age: 23 ~Games: BlazBlue (xbox), MBAACC, maybe GG. I play SF4 and other shitty capcom games at casuals since thats all people usually play. ~Location: Stony Brook, NY (I go to SBU and this is my last semester, I live in Albany) I'm down for sessions around Suffolk or sessions at FNC. Theres some people interested in the Long Island FB group (unless thats you guys) for BB/MB so we might be able to get a station. I don't mind going there since theres like 2 people that would prolly come with me from SBU to help me pay for gas.
  5. Was hoping this was during the summer, oh well can't make this one cause of school. I'd definitely go to the next one if you guys decide to do it again. Might be a good idea to add marvel to the next one. I know it would make things easier for me and probably other upstate NY players. There's a few anime players here in Albany and I know theres some in Syracuse/Buffalo and adding mvc3 would make it easier to get a ride/ fill a car etc.
  6. I think like LK mentioned maybe we should follow Japans lead. We could easily set up online exhibitions or tournaments that could be streamed. I mean people mention the good netplay a million times in this thread and thats something we could easily use to our advantage. We should start with things like that and hyping up our own local tournaments and having them streamed etc. A major with only anime games would be great but thats reaching way too far ahead. We should start small and start to be more independent from the rest of the FGC if they're not willing to fully support us. Once we build a good base from the smaller things and start to attract new players then we can start thinking about making our own major.
